The Frozen War
Project Overview
This is a book I've been writing for about 2 months now. I am 30,000 words and 11 chapters deep right now. I have a clear outline for my book and the words are getting to the page much quicker than I expected. I'm starting a mailing list for updates, as I will be attempting to self publish, so I need to build some hype around the project and I want one of the announcements to be the cover art.
For your audition I have 3 different covers in mind, submit one or two or however many you feel like, you can submit multiple attempts at the same prompt or one attempt for each prompt, or just one that calls to you. I will do my absolute best to respond with what I like, don't like, and keep it totally real with you. This is something that I am extremely passionate about and I am very excited to see what you all come up with.
Keep in mind when drawing/designing I want my color palette to be cold, blues, greys, whites. The setting for this first book is winter in Montana, and the theme is psychological horror thriller.
Prompt 1:
A rottweiler sitting in the snow on the edge of the treeline, staring outwards into a snow covered forest. The sky is grey and gloomy, and barely visible, looming in the clouds, is a close up of a human eye, not just the eyeball but like a close up of a human face but just the eye, sitting behind the clouds. The eye needs to look human but not exactly. Like zombie eye or something that just makes it look ominous or evil but doesn't look fake.
Prompt 2:
A man dressed for extreme cold, layed down in the snow, aiming down the sight of his MK22 MRAD Sniper rifle, its crucial the gun looks accurate as I have been trying to go for as much realism within the story as possible, his fur hood blowing in the wind, snow drifts blowing past him. maybe some snow has built up on the gun or on his head. I want the impression hes been laying there for a while.
Prompt 3:
A frozen landscape, maybe the POV is the top of a ridge, looking down into a rundown Mall. A huge digsite in the back, and in the snow heading away from the cliffs edge is a set of dog paw prints and a set of boot prints.
I'm looking for someone who likes to draw dark or cold images to go along with the theme of my book.
