Last year a small group of us made The Call From Darkness (available on Youtube at https://www.youtube.com/playlistlist=PLVhEyGul7C9LKY5q37gHNpTpTuelPaS6e ).
This was based on several works by HP Lovecraft but was an origianl script based on these works. We have returned for a second season, following a few of the original characters from Season 1.
Like the first season this will be a 6 part series that is planned to be released from the end of November 2024, and is based on different works of H P Lovecraft.
This is unpaid and purely done for the fun and joy of doing it.

Just a quick update for July. As you might imagine, not much is going on with the project a the moment as we wait for the last few lines to be recorded and come in.

Hello Everyone!
It is now the last few days of the Auditions and I'm really looking forward to hearing them all. I'll give another update at the end of the week and over the weekend and next week I shall be listening to all the auditions - I will where possible get in touch with everyone whether or not you got a part as I know how nice it can be to actually get feedback or insight into an audition.

Hello everyone once again, pre-production work has been completed on The dunwich House mystery and we are now just waiting for the last 10 days of submissions to come in!
I can confirm now as well, that (barring any unforseen circumstances) the project will be completed and released over the November/December of this year!

Dr Gillian Rice is an elderly academic who lives in New England. She is a fairly curt woman but by no means heartless, she just doesn't abide fools or time wasters. She is independent and prefers to work alone but can work with others as long as they are efficient and she can see the logical need to have their help. This is a fairly large role with about 16 scenes.
Feel free to play around with the delivery of the audition lines.

When it became obvious that Whateley would not stop until he had the book, we began to look at reasons why. We came across some documents about his import of cattle onto his farm.
He’ll take the powder and the page to Curwen, Olney and Marsh. He used something against you, and took off.
A young woman from 1930's England, she comes from a working class background in London and has been thrust into a much more middle/upper class life. Maria starts as an innocent and slowly decends into madness from numerous causes. Maria only has a few scenes but there is an episode that is based on her diary and is in the style of an epistolary, so has about 9 pages of diary entries to perform.

Curwen is today, in the guise of a senior partner in Curwen, Onlney and Marsh and may in fact be extremely old, we never actually find out. Curwen is a powerful wizard and a villain of The Dunwich House Mystery. He is powerful and he knows he is powerful and treats all others as his personal subordinates and is never concerned with if he offends others.
Obviously I cannot betray confidential information. And we did represent the Carter family back in the 1930’s, even before my time {CHUCKLES}, and we still hold the estate for them.

The town looks very different to how it did nearly a century ago, there was a big fire in 1935, many buildings were destroyed or damaged to the point where they just had to rebuild. Took a while back then what with the economy how it was. But now…now it is looking good don’t you think?
