Project Overview

A silly little story about a pompous knight suddenly going off on a little quest to retrieve his dental floss after it is stolen by a mischevious pixie and all the encounters he has with strange people in the process

I intend to turn this into a short audio story for youtube

(I'm currently working on a few other smaller projects which will probably wrap up soon so I'm setting the deadline on this one pretty far ahead and I might still push it back further if my other projects run longer than expected)

I will also be playing two small roles in this story which are not shown publicly here, those who are casted will receive the full script

  • Casting decided

    Thank you for all your auditions for this project over the past month or so, I've been very impressed by the great pool of talent we have here on casting call club and I think I can confidently say this project will contain some great voice actors who really suit their roles. If you weren't cast then don't worry because I plan to open another casting call for a similar project soon, so if you're still keen to play a part in a story like this then keep an eye out for a new project from me and when I open the casting call I might post an update here with a link to the new one I've cast most roles but there were so many auditions for the narrator that it's going to take a while before I can make a final decision since I have somewhere to be in the next half hour and I don't think I'll be able to go over it all in that time. I'll contact all those who were cast soon with a script and any instructions I think are necessary, again it might take a few hours

A narrator reading most of the sections between all the other lines, while this is a narration role please still try to give a sense of personality to the narrator

Gets confused and scared when they lose their role as a narrator near the end

  • As he approached the tower however he noticed the sage in question lying in the middle of a potato patch wearing nothing but a pair of tighty whities

  • Sir Archibald did just so in as flashy and drawn out a fashion as he could manage and dark clouds manifested several feet away leaving the dark priest/priestess standing there in a weird pose

  • Whuh? Wait... are you... “narrating” me...? I thought I was the narrator of this story?

A prim and proper knight who seems to expect more respect than he gets, very fussy about his own grooming and hygiene, holds more to a sense of good narrative in legends than any actual knights code, may be a little pompous and stuffy

  • (condescending) You know as well as I do that witches operate in the area Smedley, and I can't be too careful with anything that might link some small piece of me to their dark crafts, be it loose hairs or traces of dried saliva on my toothbrush

  • (determined) I simply must follow my daily dental hygiene pattern, I must!

  • (Dramatically) I am sir Archibald of clan Emmeross and I have journeyed long and far to... (someone interrupts in a snarky manner and then he gets off topic to whisper an annoyed shout back at them) Would you be cool for once!?

The hunchbacked servant of sir Archibald, a minor character with only these three lines might be a good idea to speak in a lisp or downtrodden voice

A quirky old sage who lives by himself with a talking tower who he ignores for the most part, seems to enjoy sending people on needless quests to find stuff and tarnishing their supposedly heroic reputations by stating the truth quite simply

  • (Half rambling) Well you see the dark priest cast a curse on all coloured fabric quite a while back, not a drab thing in my whole wardrobe but these I'm afraid, everything else had some kind of awesome colour to it so I've been going about life in my underwear for quite a while now, not many a tailor stops by these woods after all

  • (Chiming in to annoy someone in the middle of a conversation between two other people) Literally never left the kingdom


  • (Casually dismissive) No, no one cares... not even me

The villain of this story who was supposed to be on break when they are magically summoned to answer for the crime of having Sir Archibald's dental floss stolen, tired and annoyed the whole encounter they just want to settle the issue and go back to what they were doing as quickly and conveniently as possible

  • Dude, couldn't you wait like ten minutes! I was on the bloody toilet!

  • (in a moan) Look if I hand you back your dental floss can I get back to taking a dump?

  • (Casually) Nah to my condo is the sky palace, my lair is under renovations. Too many goblins getting syphilis which was getting the employee morale down and I couldn't stand listening to any more of their bellyaching. All my villainy is on hold until I get the lair up and running again

The lonely talking tower that the sage lives in, it is ignored by everyone in the story right up until the very end... should sound kind of pathetic, miserable, and of course lonely
