New role added!
Note this is NOT the second wave of casting. Whether that happens is still up in the air. Rather I'm specifically setting a role for a 3D animator. Check it out!
The Astrosaurs
Project Overview
The Astrosaurs is a stopmotion/2d animation hybrid series starring a group of spacefaring dinosaurs named "Team Prospector" exploring the distant Mesogalaxy to find a new energy source for their homeworld, Azure Regis, and simultaneously stopping the evil pirate syndicate named "The Crimson Claw".
It balances a very quirky cast of fun characters with a surprisingly spectacular lore-filled universe that they explore, and the animation style balances Claymation dinosaurs with 2D animated expressions, details and backgrounds! Intended to aim for a PG rating.

Voice Actor
Rex Andromeda Dromeus
closed
Unpaid
The lead role for my show! Rex Andromeda Dromeus is a youthful Dromeosaurus mercenary with a very playful attitude, usually seen with a grin, though can be serious when the stakes are high. Despite being only 19 years old, he is already a feared bounty hunter amongst the evils of the mesogalaxy with many accomplishments.
Voice should be youthful, playful with the ability to deliver snarky remarks confidently. Line delivery should be quick, snappy, energetic and full of life, though should also be able to handle quieter and more relaxed scenes and lines. Suited for any VAs who can voice younger characters, either male or female!
Language:
- english
Voice description:
- male young adult
Oh sorry, you DO have a lot of explaining to do! For one, why you are smuggling crates of stolen Zodium? A material which has been illegal for about five years?
(muttering grumpily) I am NOT a velociraptor!

Sarah Struth

Unpaid
Role assigned to:
Morgana
Sarah Struth is a hotblooded struthiomimus living on the frontier planet, Anpermia. No-nonsense, dry sense of humor but with a heart firmly in the right place and an occasional gentle side. Think like the protagonist of a spaghetti western with a bit more energy.
(Note that the current design used for her here is not her finalised design)
Voice description:
- american (southern)
- female young adult
There are only two things I want in this life. Money, and enough people to trust. I'm grateful for having the latter now.
You know what Rex? If you don't shut up I'll tie you up and leave you to dehydrate. Got it?
Voice Actor
Tillie Jara

Unpaid
Role assigned to:
Itimil
Tillie is a young adult Caiuajara (early 20s but a teen voice works too) who is doing open university. Probably the smartest and most hardworking in the group, but not afraid to fight if needed to. Voice delivery should suit the fact that she's the second youngest of the group (behind Rex) and her smart nature, but shouldn't sound too "dorky" or "geeky".
(Talking to a villain) Look, we both have better things to do. Let's get this over with!
Sure this place is full of dangerous people, but if you don't talk to anyone, you get peace! You get me?

Ank

Role assigned to:
qsilver
Ank is an ankylosaurus known for being calm and collected, often sparing tidbits of wisdom. His main character conflict comes from being by far the strongest member of the team, but unwilling to fight people. Acts as a mentor for some team members. His voice can be described as soothing, calm and kind of slow paced. Think the late Peter Cullen's voice for Eeyore or Ian McKellen as Gandalf.
Now now, young master Rex. Let's not be hasty, after all the Tenlexians (Pronounced "Ten-lex-ee-ans) are mysterious... they could have anything on that moon.)
Shhh... take a deep breath and relax. The right headspace wins most battles before they even begin.

General Sailor

Unpaid
Role assigned to:
Gabriel Gamez
Sailor is an imposing Spinosaur who leads the forces of the pirate syndicate named the crimson claw, and the main villain. He's both genuinely threatening with a few comedic moments here and there. The voice actor should be able to sound threatening and intimidating (I'm thinking Andross' voice in Star Fox 2026) but should be able to lighten up for some gags (Jim Carrey Dr Robotnik style).
Voice description:
- male adult
I've been waiting to meet you Rex... it's brave of you to face me all on your own.
Unlimited energy... right under my claws and Rusch wanted to do what... power a city? What a waste.
OH COME ON! ONE SHIP! That's all you had to do! Shoot down ONE SHIP!
Voice Actor
Rhea Greyson
closed
Unpaid
Role assigned to:
Lien
Rhea is a Megalosaurus and the leader of a group of vigilante extremists fighting back against the crimson claw. However, she isn't too fond of team prospector either, leading to clashes. She can be described as moody and more violent than some other characters, but with deep respect and camaraderie with her teammates. Plus can be more upbeat and energetic at times.
(Acts as a secondary antagonist around the series' midpoint.)
Rusch doesn't want the Crimson gone because they cause harm, only because they get in HIS way. What about the planets they plundered? The people they killed? You can have your meteor, but I will see the Crimson claw fall!
(More happily) I like this guy! Rex, if you need work feel free to join my team, you'd be more than welcome!
Voice Actor
Young Artillerysaur (Billy/Billie)
closed
Unpaid
A young Teratophoneus artillerysaur for the IAA army, named Billy or Billie. A little cowardly but with a hint of genuine courage in there somewhere. By the end comes to be a bit more confident.
Completely gender neutral, can be either Male or Female.
They wiped the floor with us. Several dead... ("The heat ray?") It was the crimson claw! They had machines, massive fighting machines but they were certainly not crimson in origin. ("Tripods...") sounds about right.
(More confidently) Halt! Who goes there? ("Uh, a friend") be on your way! This is our territory!
Wait a minute... it's you! The Allosaurus from Moribund! ("Good heavens, your that artillerysaur!") I thought you must've been incinerated!
Voice Actor
General Tyrone Rusch

Unpaid
Role assigned to:
Crow
The leader of the IAA Military and put in charge of the defense of the Astrosaurs homeworld, Azure Regis. He's stern, strict and prioritises a job done above anything else, and may be more morally grey than some would think. But at the end of the day, he is the one paying the team and keeping the system safe.
Note: He doesn't actually show up in person throughout almost the whole show but he is a Tyrannosaurus and shows up Via holograms or radio messages.
We need your help Rex, if that Amber Meteor isn't reclaimed soon, Azure Regis' capital will be all out of power and you know exactly what that means!
I understand the difficulties with the extremists but you MUST focus on the pressing matter Rex!
Tenlex? It's ill-advised, it's home to dangerous aliens who we still haven't made peace with yet. Proceed with extreme caution.

Role assigned to:
Crow
The disgruntled Anurognathus secretary of the General Sailor's battleship. Not even evil just a little grumpy and matter-of-fact.
Can be either male or female, but has limited lines.
I made you a coffee sir.
Sir? It's your cousin. (Sailor: SHUT UP ANGEL!) He wants to play Smash Bros. (Sailor: Oh, good!)
(Sailor: ANGEL! Lock them up!) Sir I'm not a jail warden.

Narrator

Unpaid
The narrator for the series, who sometimes breaks the fourth wall a little bit. Minor role and doesn't appear much. Can be any sort of voice but must simply be able to be pronounce any words clearly with a certain bit of poshness. Can be any accent really, although preferably not american.
Voice description:
- androgynous
66 million years ago, the planet earth was met with a great cataclysm that wiped out most of life.
Here in the mesogalaxy, life carries on for the old titans. They now call themselves... Astrosaurs.
Good heavens! I hope they're ok, that was a grizzly crash. (Rex: Hey, shut up!) Sorry, continue.
