The Arcana: The Fandub
Project Overview
Hi! I'm KyanTheArcana and I will be setting up an Arcana fandub!
I need an editor and most of the main cast, I will be playing MC, which I will be naming Kyan. However, this will not really affect the fandub in any way except instead of saying MC the VA will be saying Kyan (Kian). This is purely a project that will be made up of people having fun and will not be acted upon as a fully serious project. Although some scenes we do will be dramatic or sad, that will not deter the fact that this project is purely for making friends and having fun with different types of VAs, experienced and inexperienced. We will also be making up our own scenes to act out and we can be memes while doing it. All will take place in our Discord!

Julian is viewed as being overly dramatic by several characters, mainly due to his masochistic tendencies. Portia sums up this vexing trait of his by saying that Julian is "always shouldering someone else's burdens while lamenting how heavy the load is." Julian struggles with accepting the help of others because he believes himself to be unworthy of love and support.
Despite being a condemned criminal, he is reportedly loved by the majority of the Vesuvian public. He can be very magnetic and charming when he wants to be. According to Asra, he is able to excite others with ease and make them feel special, though Asra also implies that Julian is selfish and manipulative. You are warned against putting down your guard around him at several points, even, notably, by Julian himself. Regardless of any ulterior motive he could possibly have, Julian genuinely desires love and affection, and he reveals this vulnerability to you at several points within the story. However, his self-loathing often causes him to shut out those who try to help him.
Although Julian often attempts to maintain a guise of bravado, his air of confidence is shattered with comical ease whenever he is being shown genuine affection.
(Spiteful and Mischievous towards Kyan) "Death cast her gaze on this wretch and turned away."
(Annoyed) "Look at that idiot..." (Realises that it's Kyan) "Wait... That's MY idiot!"
(Jokingly) "FUCK YOU GOATMAN!"
Asra is characterized by a wanderlust and curiosity that often leads him away on mysterious journeys, and he enjoys exploring faraway locations.
To your enduring annoyance, he is often enigmatic and acts ambiguously, especially when pressed about your past. However, he confesses to hate keeping secrets from you, and refrains from telling you complete truths only to keep you safe. He is very devoted to and protective of the apprentice, admitting that he journeys partly to escape his overwhelming feelings for you, as he cannot tell you how he feels, in fear of how much you would know.
At times Asra is difficult to predict, but he can always be depended on to arrive whenever you need him. He is free-spirited and sociable, though ultimately private, preferring to spend his time alone or with only you. He also enjoys teasing others with a mischievous humor, delighted by making them fluster. However when the teasing is returned, or upon receiving genuine affection, he appears comically uncertain of how to respond. Carefree and content to live in the moment, Asra appears to dislike worrying about the future, and will remind you to do the same.
(Sadly to Julian) "Illya... I ate 6 sandwiches in three minutes and now I can't move..."
(Confused to Nadia) "Why would my brain release a bunch of dolphins?"
(Sobbing and digging at the ground) "No! Please no! Don't let it be true... I don't want to be alone..."
Nadia is very courteous and considerate with a playful streak. As a Countess, she's also authoritarian and prefers honesty to soothing lies. She's giving, willing to give gifts to her friends and acquaintances, saying they "need only ask".
Her overarching goal beyond capturing the murderer of her late husband Lucio is to make Vesuvia a better place for everyone - to fix the city and prove to Vesuvia and its people that her house hasn't completely failed and abandoned the city. She's angry at and disappointed in the Courtiers for failing to properly help the city in her absence, especially for allowing Vesuvia's poor people on the streets to go hungry and for not helping to rebuild the flooded Shopping District. She firmly believes that the city should provide for its people.
She tends to react sensitive to topics surrounding her sisters.
Nadia experiences numerous headaches throughout the game, and admits to the Apprentice that she remembers very little of her life with Lucio. She is not fond of people who appear to be "fake" fortune tellers; however, she greatly respects those who are legitimate magicians. She's also very intelligent with machinery, creating various mechanical toys for Chandra as well as the intricate library door and the clock in the Great Hall that keeps track of moon phases.
(Mentally scarred) "PUT YOUR PANTS BACK ON!"
(Annoyed at Lucio) "Hello... Husband... How has death treat you?"
(Answering where Lucio is) "Somewhere disappointing God..."
She's an energetic and talkative person who adores drama and gossip. Throughout the story she becomes a friend to the player and encourages them to go on, just as long as it's along with the Countess' side of things. While she comes off at first as more of an airhead during your first interaction with her, she seems to not let on exactly how much she knows.
Portia comes from a town called Nevivon, home of the famous saltwater hotsprings. She was raised by grandmothers along with couple of other kids. She thought her big brother, Julian, was the coolest brother in the whole world, and followed him around everywhere, especially when he went to see Nevivon's visitors from far-off places. When Portia left her home, she was determined to find her brother.
Portia started working at the palace a year before the game starts.
(Talking to Pepi) "If anything ever happens to you, I will kill Julian."
(In disbelief) "I can't believe you broke the bed!... AGAIN!"
(Angry) "I AM NOT SHORT!"
Lucio is frequently described as High-Class Trash by the Devs. He is vain, volatile, selfish, and denies things he disagrees with. His actions range from throwing an artist in the dungeons over artistic disagreements (the artist refused to paint breasts on a bird lady), to setting people on fire for insulting him. It has also been strongly implied that he ripped people’s hearts out, and used magic for racketeering. However, he was never abusive in any of his relationships.
He exaggerates his suffering, loudly and dramatically, to wring sympathy out of anyone unfortunate enough to hear him. He also loves animals, and has a fondness for magic despite his lack of skill in it.
He, regrettably, has a Jersey Accent.
(Kiss-ass smirk) "Mom said it's MY turn on the Xbox!"
(Sick/Slightly Nasally) "I'll finally have my *cough* new body!"
(Slightly insane) "Ooh hello hello hello... What do we have here?"
He worries a lot - for Asra, for you, for all of Vesuvia under some looming threat. He is very shy, his time playing a villain in gladiator combat only making him want to be alone more.
He lives in the woods with many chickens, and a wolf named Inaana who takes care of him.
(Deep and gruff) "You're not welcome here..."
(Shyly) "People used to call me the Scourge of the South... I hated it..."
(Slightly happily) "Come here Inaana..."
She is always, always hungry and looking for a chance to eat, whether it be red beetles or a fancy feast with the countess Nadia. She isn't very patient and whines when there is food around that she can't find to eat. She can get very up close and personal with the player and other characters, sniffing and even sneezing right on the the Apprentice's wrist. She is meek and can be easily intimidated and lead on by her fellow courtiers.
(Wavering voice) "Yes, the smell of oncoming death makes my starving teeth water..."
(Concern and disappointment) "Oh no! The buffet!"
(Excited) "Will we have cake?"
Vulgora is loud and volatile with a short temper. They're obsessed with destruction and violence. The only thing that interests them is war and similar violent entertainment such as fights in the Coliseum which they are very enthusiastic about. Despite calling them nothing but a warmonger, Nadia cannot help to admit their vigor on the battlefield has been most valuable to Vesuvia.
(Excitedly) "Smash their puny skulls! Paint the Colosseum red with their blood!"
(Happy) "A banquet? I believe Volta will be pleased..."
(Angry) "Red beetles... Red Beetles. Red Beetles! RED BEETLES!"
They have a sadistic and morbid personality. The dungeons, that they have kept secret from others, is filled with vivisection and dissection tables, cages to hold patients in, and a pit to throw the bodies when they are no longer useful. They aren't above torture, and note that they don't need a reason for torture because what they do stems from a love for science and that they take a pride in their work. They are fascinated by the plague, and are sad to see it is gone. Kyan notices their eyes shine with a fell glee when they talk about corpses. They are the most independent of the courtiers and refuse to listen to Countess Nadia and Volta multiple times.
(Calm but aggravated) "What's a few more bleeding out a little early, in pursuit of a cure? Necessary sacrifices."
(Smugly) "Doctor 069, how lovely to see you again."
(Infuriated) "WHY CAN'T YOU JUST DIE LIKE EVERYONE ELSE WITH THE PLAGUE? WHY ARE YOU SPECIAL?!"
Vlastomil is very keen on worms, having multiple worms and statues of worms in his estate, and is proud of all his worm knowledge, calling himself a "worm genius". He also has a room designated as a habitat for red beetles as well as a room full of butterflies, the most pleasant of any of the rooms at his manor.
(Proudly) "Well... Yes, yes I am. I am a worm expert!"
(Annoyed) "He is guilty! Guilty I say!"
(Excited) "Kill him! Kill him!"
While generally calm and collected in public, Valerius has proven to be a ruthless conspirator, wishing to take control of Vesuvia from Nadia. When his plans go awry, he is quick to lose his temper.
In Nadia's route (Chapter II of Book VI - The Lovers), he seems strangely interested in the apprentice (Kyan); the expression on his face is described as 'morbid curiosity.'
(Snooty) "Honestly. Plebeians... Have you no decorum? Silence!"
(Calmly) "Do you have any... Digestible food?"
(Annoyed) "Shut up Vlastomil, I have a wine headache..."
Faust is Asra's familiar. She's a friendly and sneaky snake who enjoys being pet and is very fond of Asra and the Apprentice.
(Happily) "Friend!"
(Scared) "Help!"
(Tired) "Quiet..."
he Magician is the first of the 22 major Arcana in a tarot deck. They appear in Asra's route, during chapter 3 of Book IX - The Hermit, whilst in Asra's gate into the deeper planes of reality, within his mind. They are "the communicator of all magical knowledge, the bridge between humanity and the infinite." They are the voice Kyan listens to when they draw the card of the same name. Asra has also called them his mentor.
(Smugly) "If it's answers you seek, you're at the wrong place. If it's more questions, come with me."
The High Priestess is the second of the 22 major Arcana in a tarot deck. She first appears in Nadia's route, during chapter 1 of Book XII - The Hanged Man.
(Happily) "How are you today, Countess?"
The Hanged Man is the 12th of the 22 major Arcana in a tarot deck. He first appears in Julian's route, during chapter 2 of Book XII - The Hanged Man. However, he is not interacted with until Book XIII - Death, also in Julian's route.
(Flatly) "Why are you here? To mock me?"
The Devil is the 15th of the 22 major Arcana in a tarot deck. He first appears in Nadia's route, at the end Book XIV - Temperance. However, he makes his first full appearance in Book XV - The Devil.
(Flatly) "Pleasure doing business with you..."
The Star is the 17th of the 22 Major Arcana. She makes her first appearance in Book XVII - The Star, in Nadia and Julian's routes.
(Happily) "Oh my galaxies! Kyan and Julian! What a surprise."
(Angrily) "Hey! Leave him alone!"
(Mischievous giggles)
A young version of Muriel.
(Sheepishly) "A fish... I want a fish..."
(Quiet) "I'm sorry Count Lucio..."
