Synopsis
Tetro Danganronpa is a Danganronpa fan project that tells the story of sixteen students trapped in a killing game. These students must kill each other (and get away with it) in order to escape. Until then, students will remain trapped in an inescapable school with no contact with their friends or family. Their lives in this school are recorded through a series of audio bugs hidden throughout their environment, transmitting their conversations, actions and interactions to the outside world. While the original Danganronpa treats its topics somewhat lightly and utilizes a fair amount of comedy, this project aims to focus more on the terrifying reality of being trapped in a building and forced to kill, aligning itself more with the psychological horror genre.

Format
Tetro Danganronpa will be released in an ongoing audio drama format. Audio will be released in a few different ways: longer audio scripts will be used for more crucial moments such as trials and larger blocks of storytelling. Shorter audio clips featuring overheard conversations will be released more regularly to fill the gaps between these longer audio scripts and to provide further insight into the characters and their world. The third way audio will be released is in the form of interview questions that will be asked to the characters occasionally by the audience. All audio will be released on the project's official page.

Voice Actor Expectations
All voice actors will be expected to use Discord. It is also recommended that voice actors join the Discord when auditioning for further insight into the project, casting notifications and easier communication with the director. Voice actors must speak fluent English and be able to regularly deliver lines throughout the duration of the project. All characters have their voice pitch and cadence listed in their audition tab, so please review this info before auditioning! These pitches and cadences aren't 100% mandatory, so please feel free to try different things if you have something else you think would fit well! All auditions will be considered as long as they are submitted with a quality mic. Please try to have good audio quality when submitting your auditions! All mics are acceptable as long as they can produce high-quality audio. You can also feel free to submit as many takes as you'd like and audition for as many characters as you'd like!
As this is a Danganronpa project, topics present in Danganronpa can be expected here. This includes violence, death, horror, screaming, crying, swearing and other potentially sensitive topics. If this makes you uncomfortable, you may want to consider avoiding this project. Voice actors are also expected to be able to pronounce Japanese names due to the nature of this project.

As a quick update, we'll be closing casting on Harada tonight! If any last-minute auditioners would like to audition for Harada, now is the time to do so. Thanks!
After peaking as an actor when she was only a child, Airi was left with a childish personality and a naivity about the world. She speaks with a childish, playful and friendly cadence. Her voice should be childish, feminine and high-pitched.
I couldn't sleep, I was having weird dreams. Spooky dreams. I thought a snack might help.
Heyyyyy Wada! Hey Wada hey Wada hey! Hey Wadaaaaaaaaa! Look over here! Hey! Hey! Eyes on me! Wadaaaaaa! I wanna show you something! Wada hey! Hey!
You're so tall! If I were that tall, I could pick up birds nests right out of trees!
Hama is a gruff and burly delinquent with very little patience for things he finds annoying. He has a deep interest in demons and speaks about them in a somewhat crass and casual way. He has a low-to-mid pitched voice with a gruff and sarcastic tone.
Yeah, well, y'know. It's my cursed arm. I can talk to dark forces with this thing, it's no joke. Maybe you wanna back off.
Listen, you little brat. You don't wanna push me that far again. Next time, nobody's gonna come running to save your ass.
This is the last school that would take me after a couple incidents at the last one. Whatever. It's not like I'm gunning for university or anything.
Keizou is a friendly and excitable young zoologist with a passion for sharing his animal knowledge with others. He has a mid-to-high-pitched voice with a slight rasp and speaks with a friendly cadence.
She's a baby Sumatran tiger! Isn't she amazing! Her fur's soft, her claws are huge - I've seen her tear apart some REAL big dinners with these babies.
Oh- H-Hey, no need to be scared. I was just helping you up! Harada Keizou, nice to meet you - sorry about the mess.
Oh! Well, I mean, I haven't really heard of that before, but if you've seen it in person then I'm sure it's real! Do you uh- have any pictures, though?
Despite regularly appearing on television as a quiz show competitor, Hasegawa is an incredibly anxious person who struggles immensely in the spotlight. He has a soft, mid-range voice with an uncertain and anxious cadence.
I-It's not like that! I wasn't there at all, I-I was just walking past and I happened to see her! I didn't mean to!
Um...h-he's not really the kind of person who...would like a kind of person like me, if that makes sense. I think I'd be better off just keeping to myself.
The answer is Monty Python and the Holy Grail, 1975. They promised coconuts to the first thousand members of the audience. W-Weird, huh?
Mai is a very tall, strong and burly girl who makes her living as a bounty hunter. She believes strongly in the forces of justice and hunting down criminals. She has a deep voice and speaks with a stern and confident cadence.
Do you want to tell me what you were doing camping out in the hallway like that?
I won't let you out of my sight. You're safe with me. Just don't go doing something stupid.
Oh, you wanna turn this into cat and mouse? I warn you, I don't give up. Not during a chase. But sure, run if you wanna run.
Hiroaki has two distinct sides to his personality - one smooth and suave, one squeamish and dramatic. He is easily offput by anything gross or scary, but excels socially and business-wise. His voice can have any pitch as long as it has range. Range is extremely important for this character, so please exemplify your range in your audition!
Let me walk you through it. There's not a single day in the week where I'm sitting around waiting for something to happen - I work. I work hard. Every day.
She's BLEEDING! Oh, oh god- Oh she's bleeding- *gags* Okay okay! Hold on! Let me grab you something- Augh!
Whaaaaat are you talking about? No, no, rewind for a minute- what did you just say? Were you talking about me?
An internet idol v-tuber that advertises her streams with a girlfriend experience appeal. As a result, she can be a bit of a people pleaser and comes off as inauthentic, despite usually acting quite friendly and cheerful. Her voice is mid-to-high range and has an animated and friendly cadence.
Hey there Miki Monsters! This one's just a quick update - I'm finally on the upward bend from this dumb cold, so we should be back on schedule soon. I hope you didn't forget about me while I was gone! I didn't forget about you!
Does she bite, Harada? Her teeth are pretty huge, I feel like that'd hurt. Is she friendly? Is she soft?
Oh wow...that's a lot of tattoos. Do they hurt? I've been thinking about getting one for a while. They look great on you.
Deeply knowledgeable about crime scenes and dead bodies, Kamimura prefers to keep his thoughts to himself and doesn’t often branch out or try to make friends. He has a soft, mid-to-high-pitched voice with a gentle and thoughtful cadence.
You can tell a lot by the blood splatter, I think. I'm not a crime scene investigator though, just a cleaner. That part isn't really my job.
But if Sasaki didn't see you come in here, how did you get in in the first place? Wouldn't she have spotted you no matter which door you used?
If she was an actual superhero, what do you think her power would be? Something cool or something kind of stupid?
Ojima is constantly lost in his own thoughts, imagining incredible worlds that he then puts to paper. Because of this, he can easily shut out the negativities of the world around him. He has a mid-to-low voice and speaks with a thoughtful cadence.
It's not like that, just- I close my eyes, and I let myself drift off, and all of the sudden I'm in this huge open field. Just...lying there, in the grass. There's a breeze. And then, everyone just...they're there. They're still there.
Right, I'd...almost forgotten about that. Well what do we do? We don't exactly have anywhere to put her.
She looks at me with these eyes that are just...they're haunting, Kamimura. They made my whole body feel cold. Like a ghost is passing through me.
A strange and quiet mask artisan who makes a wide range of kitsune masks to fit her various moods and states of mind. She has a curious demeanour about her and often asks odd questions. Her voice can have any pitch, but should have a somewhat lilting and curious dialect.
I think I've noticed something we haven't talked about yet. Her body was suspended, right? So if her body was suspended, why was the stain so far away?
Sometimes it can be hard to spot something you're not expecting to see. That's how I blend in.
But if you attended so many schools before this one, shouldn't you know lots of people? Why do you talk like you've got no friends?
Sasaki is the student council president of her school and takes her role very seriously. She never misses a moment of school or shirks a single one of her duties. She is a strong leader and does well when it comes to rallying others, but can come off as somewhat intimidating when she fails to reign herself in. Her voice can be any pitch but she should speak with confidence and authority.
No, because that's not what happened. Nakamigawa is saying that he saw you in the pool - now, how would that be possible unless you were in the pool BEFORE you were in the kitchen? Don't lie. Tell your story STRAIGHT.
Where are you going? We're in the middle of a group meeting. We need to ration out our supplies. If you leave, you're getting nothing.
I would have worn something a bit more professional if I knew there would be so many other students here.
Tamba is highly athletic, hard-working and driven to succeed. She strives to be a successful gymnast and works hard every day to make it happen. She should have a mid-to-high-pitched voice and speak with a peppy, sporty cadence.
That's right! Keep up! Don't stop moving! Feel the burn! And one! And two! And three! And four! And let's keep those arms moving, Hasegawa! And five!
Can't slow down, I gotta meet my step goal for the day. I dunno when the sun's gonna go down, so I gotta make every moment count.
I'm just feeling empty right now, I guess. I dunno. I don't feel like moving around today. I'm just going to rest.
Acting as a superhero in her hometown, Manami performs community service and fights crime to protect her citizens. She gets rather dramatic with her role. Her voice can be any pitch, but must have range, as she sometimes speaks with a very dramatic cadence.
Never fear! Stand up tall! Tsuno Manami's here to keep you safe! As long as I'm around, nobody's going to get hurt. Stick by my side.
Hey, I don't mind. Everybody's gotta eat, right? So if nobody feels like cooking today, I'll take it on. I think we could all use a good meal.
I always try to help out when I can! Being a superhero isn't about having laser eyes or whatever, it's about helping! Making people's lives better!
Masanari is frequently sleepy and detached, often not listening or staring off into space instead of paying any attention to his surroundings. He can frequently be found trying to sneak a nap. His voice should be mid-range with a tired cadence.
Um...maybe...I'm not really sure, I don't think I was listening. Could you say it again, but like...more engaging...ly?
Shigeki...? He's fine, I guess...he told me that I should come talk to you, so here I am.
I've been once or twice, but that room gives me the creeps. I'd rather stay down here where it's comfortable.
Nishino dances with incredible passion, believing fire dancing to be the most beautiful art form one can take on. She acts like somewhat of a big sister, prioritizing formality while still being kind. Her voice can have any pitch, but should have a strong and caring tone.
Hey - get up, are you okay? You're not looking too great. Hasegawa, hold her head, I'm gonna grab her a glass of water.
It's about swift movement and fiery passion. You're telling a story with your body. Thrilling, isn't it?
It's not a very conventional fire dancing uniform, no, but the school wanted something a bit more appropriate. You don't really have any leverage when you're the school's first barely-approved fire dancing team.
Yanagi acts like something of a fairytale prince, treating others with great care and respect as a prince would and always acting with charm and decorum. His voice is mid-ranged and he speaks with a charming and polite cadence.
Miss Sasaki, please, take a seat. Let me treat you to an evening of comfort, take some weight off your shoulders.
But what about the blood stain? It was splattered, there's no doubt about that, and it looks like it splattered hard.
I would never let you see a thing like that, milady. Come, we should go get you a glass of water.
The narrator will handle all narration for the story, so this is a heavy role to take on. The narrator can be of any voice type or gender, but should have a voice that is easy to listen to for long periods of time. Imagine this role like reading a story.
The carpet was dark with blood, forming a pool of black around her body. Tsuno felt her fists trembling at her sides.
It was a silence that hung heavy over the entire room, nobody feeling bold enough to break it, not even to question Masanari further.
He slammed a fist down on the table, sending a creak through the wooden base.
Monomoko is the host of Tetro Danganronpa. She has a similar voice and cadence to Puella Madoka Magica's Kyuubey. This is a heavy role that lasts for the entirety of the series, so it requires a dedicated VA. She should speak clearly and calmly with a high-pitched voice.
Welcome to your bedroom. It's nice, isn't it? Everything you need is in here - except for food, of course. You can find that in the kitchen.
What is loss if not the natural state of being? Nobody is ever truly fulfilled. Something will always be lost. If anything, to be lost is the only way to be completed.
Do you remember what the stars look like? Thousands of tiny glowing specks across the sky, like the eyes of gods.
This is a supporting role that will be present in the prologue material. Please use a mid-to-low-pitched voice and speak with a smooth, calm cadence.
Thank you for coming in today, Ms. Isono. We’re just going to have you answer a few questions for us, and then we can get you going on your way. Sound good?
Perfect. Could you please state your full name and occupation for the record?
It’s very noble of you to take on that responsibility. I’d like to move on to our next topic, if you don’t mind - do you have any allergies or fears we should be aware of?
