NAMELESS
Project Overview
In this city, nobody really knows anyone’s real name.
There’s a kid with a red bandana people keep talking about. Some call him a street legend, some say he’s trouble, and some say you’re better off not getting involved with him at all. The problem is… nobody agrees on what to call him.
Two brothers, Rocky and Chip, are just trying to survive day to day when Chip insists he knows someone who can help them.
So they find him.
He’s confident, a little cocky, annoyingly charming, and somehow already has a reputation.
And now the three of them are stuck together trying to survive a city full of street deals, gambling rings, rumors that spread faster than truth, and situations that always start with:
“Okay… this might actually work.”
It probably won’t.
A comedic but grounded indie series about survival, trust, and identity in a city where your name is whatever other people decide it is.

Nameless is a confident, smooth-talking street kid who has built a reputation in the city’s underground gambling and survival networks. He is clever, observant, and knows how to manipulate systems and situations to his advantage. Despite his reputation and charisma, he is still young and enjoys attention more than he lets on. He refuses to give his real name, leading others to give him many different ones. He is both admired and misunderstood, depending on who you ask.

(confident, laughing) “If I had a coin for every time I almost got caught... I’d still be broke!!"
(rare sincerity slipping through) "Ay, look... I... didn't mean for it to go like that... alright?"
(deflecting) "Ya, ya, I've heard worse. You'll run outta insults eventually!"
Rocky is the older of two brothers trying to survive in a harsh city that doesn’t make things easy for anyone. He is tired, cautious, and deeply protective, especially of his younger brother Chip. Rocky has seen what the city can do to people and is constantly trying to keep Chip from losing his innocence to it. He is loyal, grounded, and often the voice of reason, even when he’s stressed or overwhelmed.

(exhausted, trying to hold it together) "I'm *trying* okay?? I... I'm *really* trying to keep us alive here."
(angry, but controlled) "That's *not* a plan... that's how people get *killed*!"
(resigned, tired humor) "Yeah, sure, let's just walk into the sketchy alley. Great idea."
Chip is the younger brother and the emotional spark of the trio. He is curious, hopeful, and easily impressed by the world around him. While he understands that the city can be dangerous, he hasn’t fully experienced its worst parts yet. He trusts people quickly, especially those he believes can help his brother. He genuinely wants to do the right thing, even if he doesn’t always understand the consequences.

(excited, optimistic) "Rocky! I think this is the place! In fact, I *know* it is!!"
(nervous, but putting on a brave face) "I... I'm coming with you. I'm not staying behind again."
(questioning, hesitant) "Uh... we're not gonna get in trouble... right...?"
Rivet is the hardened leader of the Claws, known for his strict rule and unshakable authority. To the gang, he is controlled, intimidating, and absolute, but beneath that, he is deeply protective of his son. Rivet pushed Ace away not out of hatred, but out of fear that keeping him close would get him killed in the world he rules. Torn between leadership and fatherhood, he chooses the burden of distance, believing survival sometimes means being the villain in someone else’s story... even your child’s.

(tired, frustrated) "*Order* is this only thing keeping this place from falling apart."
(controlled warning) "You don’t get to choose when the rules apply to you.”
(quiet, personal conflict) "Some decisions don’t have a right answer… only one you can live with.”
Brass is the Claws’ primary enforcer and one of its most feared operatives. Ruthless, efficient, and unwaveringly loyal to the gang’s order, he believes rules must be enforced without hesitation. He sees Ace as a disruption to stability, especially after his influence on Lace. Unlike Rivet’s calculated leadership, Brass is direct action: when something needs to be removed, he does it himself. His loyalty to the Claws borders on obsession with control and “correcting” weakness.

(demanding, angry) "TELL ME WHERE HE IS!! I *won't* ask twice."
(cold, threatening) "You run... and I follow. Now, I'm going to end this."
(confident, intimidating) "You already lost... you just haven't recognized it yet."
Once inseparable from Ace, Lace grew up alongside him with shared ambition and chaos. Where Ace became unpredictable and free-spirited, Lace chose discipline and advancement within the Claws hierarchy. Now rising within the system that Ace was cast out of, Lace is torn between loyalty to his blood-connection and loyalty to the structure that gave him purpose. His emotional distance hides unresolved conflict, regret, and lingering attachment to Ace.

(anger masking hurt) "You *don't* get to act like *NOTHING* happened!"
(restrained) "Things change. You should've figured that out by now."
(trying to convince himself) "This... is where I'm meant to be. This is where I belong..."
Sugar is the charismatic and commanding figure behind the city’s underground fighting ring. She oversees matches, betting systems, and crowd energy with a performer’s flair and a strategist’s mind. While she appears playful and entertaining, Sugar is highly perceptive and deeply aware of how violence, money, and attention shape power. She thrives in controlled chaos and ensures the ring always produces winners, losers, and stories worth repeating.

(playing, teasing) "Oh, I like you… you’ve got just enough confidence to make bad decisions.”
(yawning, tired) "If you're gonna make a scene... at least make it *interesting*!"
(reassuring, joking) "Relax... nobody dies here unless they really... *REALLY* try."
Marrow runs a neutral safehouse that serves as a rare pause point in the city’s chaos. Once affiliated with the rival Teeth, he defected after witnessing the cycle of violence firsthand. Now, he maintains balance in his space, offering shelter, food, and quiet refuge for those who need it, without taking sides. Marrow is calm, observant, and quietly intimidating when his rules are broken. He believes survival is not about loyalty, but about knowing when to step away.

(calm, reassuring) "You can stay here. No one's coming for you tonight... I'll make sure of that."
(firm) "This place stays neutral. That’s the only reason it still stands.”
(quiet, distant) "I've seen what happens when people pick sides too quickly."
Vesper is a skilled medic who moves between the safehouse and underground fighting circuits, treating injuries from gang conflicts, betting rings, and street accidents. Calm, blunt, and emotionally guarded, he focuses on survival over sentimentality. While he rarely involves himself in politics, Vesper is deeply affected by the sheer volume of harm he witnesses and slowly begins to question whether healing people is enough when the system keeps breaking them.

(dry, focused) "Sit down. If you pass out, I’m not catching you.”
(annoyed) "Next time, maybe avoid getting yourself torn open. Just a thought.”
(softened, rare empathy) "You're gonna be okay... just... stay still."
Ledger is the city’s quiet enforcer of owed debts, both financial and social. He does not raise his voice, threaten loudly, or act impulsively because he doesn't need to. Ledger simply arrives when balances are due. He removes what is owed with calm precision, whether it be money, goods, favors, or time. To Ledger, debt is not personal, it is structure. But over time, the sheer weight of what people owe begins to blur the line between “order” and harm.

(quiet, inevitable) "I'm not here early... you're just out of time."
(matter-of-fact threat) "If you can't pay in coin, you'll pay in something else."
(unbothered, controlled) "Running only makes the total higher!"
Vault manages the city’s underground exchange system, handling deposits, loans, trades, and “safe holding” of valuables and debts. Polished, composed, and unnervingly calm, he treats survival like accounting: everything has value, everything has balance, and everything is recorded. While he presents himself as neutral infrastructure, Vault is deeply embedded in the city’s survival economy and knows exactly how dependent everyone is on systems they cannot escape.

(smooth, prodding) "*Everything* has value! The only question is... how you intend to spend it."
(condescending, muttering) "You call it luck. I call it poor management.”
(warning, grinning) "Be careful what you invest in… not all returns are profitable.”
Forge is a no-nonsense mechanic and repair specialist who keeps the city’s broken systems running: pipes, structures, tools, and even weapons. Practical, blunt, and highly skilled, she speaks more through action than conversation. Though she avoids unnecessary violence, Forge understands it intimately and will prepare others for it if needed. She believes survival is not about ideals and that it is about whether something can still function after it breaks.

(straightforward) "If it’s broken, I fix it. If I can’t fix it, *you* replace it.”
(quiet strength) "You don’t survive out here by hoping things hold. You make *sure* they do.”
(low, serious tone) "If you’re asking for a weapon, you better know why you need it.”
Chime is the public voice of the city, delivering news, warnings, and announcements from rooftops, podiums, and gathering points. Dramatic, expressive, and larger-than-life in performance, she turns information into event-like broadcasts that shape how the city perceives itself. While she appears theatrical and confident, Chime is increasingly aware that her words don’t just report reality, they influence it, for better or worse.

(broadcasting tone, full of energy) "Fresh news, fresh news! Bets are rising, tempers are higher... place ’em quick or lose your chance!”
(playful, teasing) "If you're lookin for luck tonight... ya *might* wanna look elsewhere!"
(confident, commanding presence) "You heard it from me first... so you *know* it matters!"
Rue is a warm, socially intelligent presence in the city who survives through connection, charm, and emotional awareness. She works along the streets, offering herself in exchange for food, shelter, and the necessities for living. Flirtatious when necessary but deeply caring underneath, she excels at reading people and adapting to their needs. Often acting as a bridge between individuals and groups, Rue carries a quiet, motherly instinct toward younger or struggling cats. However, her constant adaptation raises a deeper question she rarely voices: who is she when she is not needed?

(light, teasing charm) "Careful, sweetheart… you keep lookin’ at me like that, people might get ideas.”

(soft, maternal tone) "You look like you haven't eaten in awhile... cmon, sit, just for a minute."
We are looking for voice actors to provide background and crowd dialogue for the city environment. This includes ambient chatter, reactions in public spaces, gambling halls, street scenes, and general city noise. These voices help bring the world to life and make the city feel active, crowded, and unpredictable. Lines will often be short, improvised, or reaction-based (laughing, arguing, betting calls, gossip, etc.). Strong improv ability and comfort with ensemble/background recording is a plus, but not required. Some will have named roles in episodes and may have occasionally reoccurring characters.
These may include:
- gamblers and street dealers
- gang members and enforcers
- citizens of the city
- shopkeepers and random encounters
- underground ring announcers / hosts
- other cats with small but memorable roles

(street movements: muttering, warning) "Keep your head down and don't get involved..."
