Charlotte Magne, most commonly referred to as Charlie, is the Hell-born princess of Hell, the founder of the Happy Hotel and the main protagonist of Hazbin Hotel. She, despite what most of Hell thinks, believes that redemption is possible for any and all demons and hopes that it will help with the betterment of the kingdom.
She shows strong compassion towards her friends and her people. She's naive and theatrical, while also bursting with passion. Charlie does everything in her power to make everyone happy and is determined to make her kingdom into a better place. However, she can be stubborn whenever something doesn't go her way. She also has a huge passion and love for musical theatre. So much so that she says herself that she communicates more information through song.
Despite being sweet and naive, it doesn't make her a pushover or stupid. When Katie Killjoy kept ruthlessly mocking her idea, Charlie stole her pen and called her a bitch. Even when Katie turned into her demon form, Charlie began to fight back and even set Tom Trench on fire. When Alastor offered to make a deal with Charlie by a handshake, she refused and used her status by ordering Alastor to help her with the hotel but it's for as long as he desires; which he agrees to. She is also not above letting a few cuss words slip. Charlie also knows that not all demons are redeemable since she admits that she knows how evil Alastor can be and most likely not going to change for the better.
It is shown throughout the pilot episode that Charlie also struggles with feelings of inferiority, calling herself a failure in the opening song sequence and being seen as such by some of Hell's inhabitants. While she is often striving to do better and make a difference for the betterment of Hell, she is prone to self-doubt and sulking when her plans fail horribly.
She’s also known to "act before thinking". Like before her interview, she made a list of her plans but it just said random stuff like "dolphins kisses and high five." Even during her interview, she thought singing her song "Inside of Every Demon is a Rainbow" would help the people understand her plan better. Only to be devastated to learn that her plan wouldn’t automatically be accepted and was laughed by everybody in the news station. She even admits during her voicemail to her Mother that she doesn’t know what she is doing or how to make her plan for reforming demons can work.

Angel Dust is an adult film star, the first patron at the Happy Hotel, and the deuteragonist in Hazbin Hotel. A spider demon who elects to be the first the Hotel is to redeem, his selfish actions of using the Hotel as a rent-free living space threatens to jeopardize Charlie's mission before it has begun.
Angel is very sarcastic and sassy and has no problem with being reckless at the expense of others. He's known to be a bit of a prankster, switching between playful and easily destructive as he pleases. His humor tends to be crude or crass, and he makes a lot of dirty jokes. Angel's attitude can be considered blunt yet with a sense of style, always carrying a flirtatious and confident persona everywhere he goes.
However, that persona can be knocked when Angel is either dealing with his boss or when his looks are insulted. He avoids holding emotional relationships with others and tends to be a loose cannon with most of the other cast.

Alastor is the infamous entity known as "The Radio Demon", one of the many powerful Overlords of Hell. He is a major character in Hazbin Hotel and offered to assist Charlie in her endeavors, albeit, for his own amusement.
Alastor's behavior, mannerisms, and even his voice are similar to an old-fashioned radio announcer, for instance when he refers to modern television as a "picture show". Alastor deviates from the crass nature prominent in Hell in favor of an amiable persona. As a result, he is always smiling and acts polite. He never stops smiling because he believes it shows power and dominance. If a rival were to frown, he would see them as weak.[2]
He is narcissistic, not seeing many people quite up to his level. However, that does not make him reckless. Despite being extremely powerful, Alastor is fully aware that there are other demons and entities that rival him in terms of power, such as the Overlords. For this reason, he is wary around such demons, as they could potentially harm him if he is not careful.
Alastor also seems to have a moral compass, which is actually "not normal".
He has been noted to be quite sadistic and to have masochistic tendencies. Despite this, he genuinely wants to help Charlie run the Happy Hotel, albeit for his own amusement rather than idealism. Alastor even dismisses the idea that redemption is possible.

Cherri Bomb is a radical anarchist and a main character in Hazbin Hotel. She is Angel Dust's best friend, tutor of crime, and partner in crime.

Husk is the front desk clerk/bartender at the Happy Hotel and is a main character in Hazbin Hotel.
Husk is generally in a monotonous mood and can be vulgar at certain times, even saying he lost the ability to love years go. He can be gruff and is a sarcastic and unenthusiastic alcoholic, He also loves to gamble because he has an unhealthy addiction to it.
Husk is very easy to persuade, as all it takes to win him over is cheap booze and a wink.

Niffty is a cleaner and cook for the Happy Hotel, and is a main character in the Hazbin Hotel series.
Niffty’s personality is hyper and spontaneous, as well as being quick on her feet. She's easily entertained, and excitable.
She goes absolutely insane when there is a mess and appears to have a weird obsession with men.

Sir Pentious is an antagonist, an inventor, and a snake demon in Hazbin Hotel. He is Cherri's arch-rival, with both of them constantly locked in turf wars over new territory after exterminations.
Sir Pentious is bombastic, flamboyant, and persistent, having the personality one would expect from an old school 60s villains. He takes pride in how evil he is, at one point he said: "I'm so evil".
As noted by Angel Dust, Sir Pentious really doesn't get sexual innuendos. This can be due to the fact he's from the late 19th century when sexual innuendos and sex jokes weren't really a thing.

Vaggie is Charlie's manager, best friend, and girlfriend. She is a control freak, a resident of Hell and the tritagonist of the Hazbin Hotel series. Her fiery temper impedes her aims to make Charlie's dreams into a reality.
Of the characters, Vaggie is shown to be the most sensible and prudent of the cast, as she constantly tries keeping Charlie and the hotel out of as much trouble as possible. Being short of patience, her cautious and protective demeanor quickly shifts to an explosive temper as shown from her interactions with Angel Dust and Alastor (The former always putting the credibility of the Happy Hotel in jeopardy and Alastor’s malicious tendencies).
According to Angel Dust, Vaggie has a distrust towards men.

He began to topple overlords that have been dominant for centuries, that kind of raw power had never been harnessed by a mortal soul before, then he'd broadcast his carnage all throughout Hell just so everyone could witness his ability. Sinners started calling him "The Radio Demon" - as lazy as that is - many have speculated what unimaginable force enabled him to rival our world's most ancient and destructive evils, but one thing's for sure: he's an unpredictable source of danger, a wicked spirit of mystery and a violent monster of chaos the likes of which we can't risk getting involved with unless we want to end up erased!
Blitzo (pronounced Blitz) is the protagonist of Helluva Boss. He is the founder and manager of Immediate Murder Professionals (I.M.P), a startup assassination business that carries out its services in the living world.
Focused on his company's success, Blitzo prides himself as being business-like and professional, but in truth, he has a shortsighted ego that makes him terrible at managing a legitimate business. Despite his status as his company's superior, he comes off often as immature, selfish, and even disrespectful among his employees; to which none of them find him serious enough as their boss and often come to question his extravagant yet poor decision-making. On the assassin side, he is murder-savvy and borderline sadistic with his victims. He is perfectly fine with committing more brutal killings (i.e. on children) if there's no fuss over it.
Blitzo possesses a twisted sense of family when it comes to his work. Comparing his employees to a (dysfunctional) family, Blitzo likens the matters the company faces as familial problems that can be dealt with if they all work together (but not necessarily respect each other). However, Blitzo occasionally uses the comparison as an excuse for his negligent behavior when called out on it. For example, his justifying of Loona's volatile behavior and appraisal as a surrogate daughter against employee complaints, or endlessly stalking Moxxie in public and private.
He also has a theatrical side, as Blitzo also loves music and jingles, and keeps posters of himself and his family when they attended the circus. Unfortunately, Blitzo's thought process runs on the idea that entertainment is a Kickstarter shortcut through corporate promotion, leading him to confuse the two and blowing the company's resources on over-the-top advertising.

Millie is one of the four main characters in Helluva Boss. She is the bruiser of Immediate Murder Professionals (I.M.P), a startup assassination business that carries out its services in the living world.
Millie is very lively and cheerful. Often with a smile on her face and rarely standing still, she is a clear extrovert and isn't afraid to speak her mind. Whether it's expressing her excitement or flipping off a coworker.
Also, as Millie is the bruiser of Blitzo's employees and seems to enjoy her job, it can be assumed she's tough and very violent as well. According to Moxxie, she is aggressive in the sack as well as her job.

Moxxie is one of the four main characters in Helluva Boss. He is the assassin and weapons expert of Immediate Murder Professionals (I.M.P), a startup assassination business that carries out its services in the living world.
Moxxie is an Imp who is easily annoyed and rather clumsy, as he trips over their ritualistic book on the way through the portal to the living world. He is the I.M.P's weapon specialist; and as such, has a vast knowledge of weapons. He is often the most vocal of the employees regarding the company as a whole despite its dysfunctional environment and is bullied consequently.
Despite being a murder-for-hire imp, it seems Moxxie has a problem with unnecessarily killing beyond their targets and appears distraught when he believes he almost killed an innocent child ("the Bratty Kid") and can be seen being consoled in a scene in the hospital. He loves his wife's sadistic tendencies and brutality, as he sings of how it makes his heart skip a beat in "Oh Millie".

Loona is one of the four main characters in Helluva Boss. She is the receptionist of Immediate Murder Professionals (I.M.P), a startup assassination business that carries out its services in the living world.
Cynical and choleric, Loona generally has no interest in matters that are going on around her. Toward her colleagues, Loona is rude and apathetic. When she's not looking at her phone, she's always giving a hateful glare to the next person she sees.
She is incredibly undisciplined and doesn't have much of a work ethic, like drinking to the point of getting a hangover before work or having sex to the point of contracting a VD.
She is also short-tempered and emotionally conflicted as a simple questioning of eating Moxxie's lunch led her to leave and assault a bystander (specifically a baby) in frustration.
She is very apathetic to the suffering of others, as seen when Millie called her and told her she got stabbed, she simply hung up, along with pointing her phone at Eddie when he was beaten by Blitzo, Millie and Moxxie.

Stolas seems to be narcissistic, decadent, exigent, and has a regal quality about himself, as his house has pictures of him and his clothing all around him and he complains of being lonely. However, Stolas has a disturbing quality to him when he gets sexually frustrated, with his aristocratic speaking becoming profane and graphic.
