Project Overview

Hello!

Welcome to the casting call for a fandub of season one of the anime, Sword Art Online! We have been hard at work with this project and even have episode one released, which can be found on Odysee here: https://odysee.com/@AincradFandubs:7/Sword_Art_Online_Season_01_Episode_01_The_World_of_Swords:1

We are looking for talented voice actors to join the project as understudies for season one as well as minor/extra roles for the series. Additionally, we are seeking at least one additional video editor to assist us with our projects.

The studio's working name is Aincrad Fandubs, since this is our first project together! We have a Discord server that actors will be invited to upon being cast! Please understand that since this is a fan project, there will be no payment, but this is a great way to gain some experience as an actor and portray some characters you enjoy!

The main requirements are as follows:

1. All auditioners must be eighteen years or older. No minors please. This is for safety reasons and to ensure that the cast is as professional as possible. We will be dubbing mature scenes and anime at times, so it is best if no minors join the server for this reason!

2. Please either message or add your Discord handle to your audition. Since we have a server where there will scripts and the like, this is the best way to communicate and keep it touch!

3. Have fun! At the end of the day, this is fun little project and something that I hope you will all enjoy!

Asuna Yuuki, known as Asuna ingame, is the main female protagonist in Sword Art Online. She comes off as rather feisty and hotheaded at first, but has a soft spot for Kirito, who becomes her ingame husband and boyfriend outside of the game. Known as the Lightning Flash due to her skill with a rapier, Asuna is also a very talented cook, much to Kirito's approval.


Her original Voice Actress is Cherami Leigh. Feel free to try and base your voice around hers or try something of your own creation, this is a fandub after all!

One of the supporting characters of the show, Ryōtarō Tsubo, known as Klein ingame, is one of the first players that Kirito ends up meeting and teaching about the game. He is a lovable sidekick type of character who is skilled with a katana, having even founded a Guild alongside a group of his IRL friends! He has a love for pizza and pretty girls, alongside a great friendship with Kirito!


His original Voice Actor is Kirk Thornton.  Feel free to try and base your voice around his or try something of your own creation, this is a fandub after all!

Keiko Ayano, known ingame as Silica, is a supporting character in the world of Sword Art Online, where she plays as a Beast Tamer. She is a young teen who possesses the rare ability of being able to utilize a pet dragon, named Pina, who is capable of healing her. She reminds Kirito of his "sister" and the two develop a close bond after he helps her revive Pina, who died protecting her.


Her original Voice Actress is Christine Marie Cabanos. Feel free to try and base your voice around hers or try something of your own creation, this is a fandub after all!

Rika Shinozaki, known ingame as Lisbeth, is a skilled blacksmith who makes a living in the world of Sword Art Online through this profession. She is a close friend of Asuna's and meets Kirito, who requests a strong weapon from her, breaks her favorite weapon, and is then forced to gather new materials for her to create a new weapon. She is quick to anger and is a hopeless romantic.

Yui is an AI designed to be a psychiatrist in the world of Sword Art Online in order to assist players with coping with the traumatic events occurring around them. She is found by Kirito and Asuna during their time together and calls the two her Papa and Mama. She is quite childish and innocent, but is very powerful.


Her original Voice Actress is Stephanie Sheh. Feel free to try and base your voice around hers or try something of your own creation, this is a fandub after all!

Akihiko Kayaba, known ingame as Heathcliff, is the creator of Sword Art Online and the leader of the guild, Knights of the Blood Oath. He is known for his impervious defense, but no one knows he is secretly the creator of the game who trapped the players within. He is the main antagonist of the first season.


His original Voice Actor is Kevin M. Connolly. Feel free to try and base your voice around his or try something of your own creation, this is a fandub after all!

Sword Art Online has quite a few Minor and Extra roles, which include characters that appear in only one episode, some that have very small parts in multiple episodes, and some that are background characters.

Feel free to audition here and submit your best renditions of the lines in multiple voices. We are also open to seeing Demo Reels in messages.

We are looking to add more video editors to the Aincrad Fandubs team. We currently have two and believe adding at least one or two more would allow us to create more projects and divide the work more evenly.

This includes Sound Editing and Video Editing. We would also like to invite Reanimators to audition since we plan to do Abridged series eventually!
