Susan's Wish
Project Overview
Susan's Wish is an episodic audio drama. The story involves an autistic girl named Susan Doe arriving at a new school and having to deal with her continued social isolation. On her first day, Susan encounters another girl named Mika. After a brief run in with the mysterious Jane Laporte, Susan is soon thrown into a world of real life magical girls. She is then given the opportunity of a lifetime. To become a magical girl herself and be granted a wish. This project is intended for publication on iTunes and other podcast platforms. Each episode will be around ten minutes long.

Susan is a grade ten student with a mild case of autism. This causes her to be socially isolated. Autism is kind of a touchy subject for her, one she don't like to talk about. Susan is smart, but unsure of herself. She often sits alone instead of interacting with others. She has a quiet low-mid range teenage female voice with North American accent.
[Nervous] A new school in new city… This was the last thing I needed...
[Stressed] I better get over there. It’s almost time for class and I don’t want to make a bad first impression.
[Disinterested] Oh. That’s the Peace Tower clock. We’re so close to Parliament Hill that the bells are still quite audible.
Mika is a friendly upbeat Japanese exchange student at Susan's new school. She doesn't like talking about her past and prefers to sweep it under the rug. At first she appears like a normal girl, but it is revealed that she is a being with the power of self-regeneration. Mika doesn't allow all this power to go to her head though and got at containing most of her anger. Most of it.
Looking for mid-high teenage voice with a Japanese accent. Let me know if you can speak Japanese as well.
[Normal] Nothing a few bandages can’t solve.
[Happy] It's fine. I went to get us tickets to go inside while I was waiting around. Let’s go!
[Nervous] Well, I don’t know who she was, but I’m pretty sure I know what she was.
Not much is known about Jane Laport. She is French Canadian girl about Susan's age. Jane goes to a different school in the town over, where her mother is the principal. She seems to really hate Mika for reasons that aren't entirely clear. She is a magical girl with a lot off illusion spells.

[Cold] Don’t worry she’ll recover.
[Cold] It wasn’t a laser, it was magic.
[Sarcastic] Oh, great. You’ve gotten the attention of a security guard. Now I have to flee.
*CHARACTER'S NAME SUBJECT TO CHANGE*
Mr. Smith is the first period English teacher for Susan. He's a bit of a jokester and very sarcastic. He is in his early sixties and says he's going to retire next year. That's what he says every year though. He does care about his students despite his faults.

[Normal] No, I read your IEP last night and I wanted to talk about it with you.
[Indifferent] This is the first day of classes this year and you guys probably know the routine from last September. It’s paperwork time.
[Normal] Your individual education plan. Please take a seat.
Extras are important for every production. This is for all those minor roles that only appear once or twice. I'm looking for a whole range of voices. Feel free to submit four or five takes of each line. I'm looking for variety.
[Child] Hey! What's up? Do you want to play some soccer?
[Teen] The red uniform or the white uniform? Ugh. Who cares? I have to get going.
[Adult] Hello? Is everything alright over there? Is anyone hurt?
