Super Mario: Plumber’s Crack-Up! (Show)(Episode 1)
Project Overview
Plumber’s Crack-Up is an upcoming 2D animated web series of the Super Mario Bros. universe, reimagining the beloved characters of the Mushroom Kingdom through a chaotic, self-aware, and darkly comedic lens. The series follows Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Toad as they navigate the absurdities of everyday life in a world that runs entirely on video game logic — and none of it makes sense. With biting humor, fourth-wall breaks, and pop-culture references galore, the show takes aim at everything from nostalgia culture to late-stage capitalism — all while featuring over-the-top slapstick, dysfunctional relationships, and plumbing-based metaphors that go way too far.

Description:
Stocky, mustached plumber in his late 30s–40s. Wears his signature red cap and overalls but often with signs of wear — oil stains, pizza grease, or scorch marks from misfired Fire Flowers. His eyes are constantly darting like someone who lives between caffeine highs and existential dread.
Personality:
Loud, boastful, self-absorbed, and borderline delusional about his “hero” status. He still thinks he’s saving the world even when he’s just fixing a toilet or botching a delivery job. Underneath the bravado, Mario is insecure about his fading fame and terrified of being irrelevant.

(Boasting) “It’s-a me, the hero of the Mushroom Kingdom! Conqueror of Koopas! Slayer of… clogged toilets!”
“Let’s-a-go!”
“Nintendo!”
Role: Mario’s younger brother and reluctant co-star.
Personality:
- Nervous, self-conscious, and secretly more intelligent than Mario.
- A hopeless romantic who falls for the wrong person (or ghost) every episode.
- Frequently experiences existential crises. Comedic Traits:
- Often the “straight man” of the duo but gets dragged into chaos.
- Tries to rationalize absurd situations like they’re normal (“You know, maybe the talking turtle has a point…”).
- Accidentally becomes the voice of reason — only for no one to listen. Running Gags:
- Anxiety attacks triggered by even minor inconveniences.
- Repeatedly gets mistaken for a green janitor or “Player 2.”
- His ghostbusting gear constantly backfires in ridiculous ways.

(Worried) “Mario, why do the pipe talk now? Pipes shouldn’t talk!”
Regal and gorgeous, but her constant smile feels suspiciously forced. Always in pink, though her outfits range from royal gowns to influencer-chic casuals. Her crown doubles as a Bluetooth headset for scheming multitask sessions.
Personality:
Charming, vain, and manipulative. Peach knows exactly how much power she has — politically, emotionally, and socially — and she loves using it. She plays the “helpless princess” act when convenient, but in truth, she’s the show’s most dangerous mind.

(Cheerful) “Citizens of the Mushroom Kingdom! I declare today… National Peach Appreciation Day! Attendance is mandatory.”
(Casual menace) “Oh, don’t look at me like that, Mario. I only funded the rebellion for tax reasons.”
(Breaking character) “Do I look like a damsel in distress, or more like a PR disaster in a tiara?”
Description:
Small, mushroom-headed attendant with perpetually tired eyes and a permanent look of panic. His vest is tattered, his shoes squeak when he runs, and he often carries a clipboard like it’s a lifeline.
Personality:
Overworked, underpaid, and emotionally broken. The Mushroom Kingdom’s ultimate everyman. Toad tries to be positive but spends most of his time screaming, dodging fireballs, and getting trampled by royalty.
Despite it all, he’s strangely resilient — or just too traumatized to quit.
Voice type: High-pitched, loud, energetic, occasionally breaking into screams.
Tone range: Enthusiastic → panicked → traumatized.

(Frantic) “THE CASTLE’S ON FIRE! AGAIN! WHY IS IT ALWAYS MY SHIFT?!”
Description:
Giant, fire-breathing turtle dragon with a surprisingly dad-like physique. His shell is scratched, his horns chipped, and his suit-and-tie attempts always end up singed.
Personality:
A narcissistic megalomaniac who’s slowly realizing he’s too old for villainy. Bowser’s more interested in brand management and emotional growth than actual conquest — though he’ll still blow something up for nostalgia’s sake.
He’s menacing when angry, but therapy has made him… introspective. Sort of.

(Evil laugh) “At last! The Mushroom Kingdom will bow before my corporate empire! …Starting with free Wi-Fi!”
Description:
A Goomba wearing small reading glasses and a tiny beret. Carries a clipboard and speaks like a revolutionary philosopher trapped in a body that can’t hold a pen.
Personality:
Passionate, intellectual, but constantly frustrated by his species’ physical limitations. A tragic figure in a comedic world, leading the Goomba Liberation Front against systemic stomping.

Herbert: (Rousing speech) “Brothers, sisters, spores—today we rise against the tyranny of being… squished!”
Yoshi has a very similar personality to Mario, being brave and kind, albeit underdeveloped. Yoshi is a friendly individual who always lends a helping hand to those in need. He can be considered a hero and has helped his friends, defeated Bowser, and saved his island more than once. He is also very courageous, allowing him to stand and fight enemies much larger than himself, including Yoob, an enlarged Bowser, Nep-Enuts, Tap-Tap the Golden, and the gigantic form of Baby Bowser. As a result of this courage, Yoshi often takes on a leadership position to the Yoshi clan, although Yoshi has no official political status (unlike the Village Leader from Lavalava Island). In fact, when Yoshi is offered a leadership position in Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars, the humble character declines the position.
