Serenity is the first of ten stories I am writing as part of the Janoiry challenge!
Synopsis of Serenity
Lisa Berkowitz lives alone in a flat, doing her best to keep a roof over her head. One cold autumn night she is invited out to drinks at a local bar. She doesn't want to go, but feeling obligated she puts on her coat and heads out.
Next thing she knows, she is sitting in a small office. Across the desk, a Private Investigator. And they want to know everything about that dark and dreary night...
What is Janoiry?
JaNoiry (Ja-Noir-y) is a Film-Noir inspired challenge that runs through the month of January (Film Noir being the iconic black and white gritty crime dramas from the 1940's) where creatives can channel that genre into their work. It was created by Guy Who Does Art on Instagram!
This Project
This is the first of ten stories I am creating as part of the Janoiry challenge. Full credit for your voice will be given, alongside relevant links to your social channels. As this is the first story of ten, there may be opportunities to voice in the other audio dramas as I write them.

Lisa is a young British woman, mid 20's. She is the main protagonist of this audio drama. Although she has a cheerful persona and a gentle voice, she is harbouring a deep sense of loneliness. She is being interviewed by a private investigator about the events of a certain dark and dreary night...

(Reminiscing) I remember it being cloudy. There was a chill in the air. Sort of like today, actually. A biting wind that cuts right through you. Like a rabid dog. Didn’t matter how many layers I wore, I could feel it on my skin. I thought walking for a while would warm me up. It didn’t.
(Surprised / Scared) Investigator? Am I in trouble?
(Starting quiet, then getting louder and more panicked) All my fault, it was my fault, it was my FAULT IT WAS MY FAULT!
This role can be any gender. They are the business partner to the Private Investor. They try to be the voice of reason during the interrogation. Must have a strong, serious voice, yet able to be expressive.
