Servant Cadell - A D&D Online Comic Dub

Project Overview

“Servant Cadell” is a short, six-page comic created by the lovely Ms. Artsekey! It depicts a very heartwarming and emotionally charged scene wherein an unsure young man, Acosta Cadell, struggles to secure his rightful place as the newly appointed ruler of the City of Magic and win over the hearts of its people.

This little project, much like the example listed, will be showcased on my own, personal YouTube channel (Callie Wills) and set to premiere sometime this upcoming Winter. It also serves as a fantastic portfolio piece or demo reel material. Short, sweet, and emotionally rich!

  • Accidental Double Post

Hey there everyone! I've been so overwhelmed by all the amazing talent that have auditioned for this project so far! Unfortunately, as this is my first casting call hosted on this website, I made a mistake in posting this particular casting call twice instead of simply editing it as intended. Rest assured I will not disregard any of these auditions now that I've discovered my error and you will all still receive the same amount of consideration. Apologies again for the mistake.

Young Acosta Cadell is quite the prodigy when it comes to magic. Not only is he one of the youngest graduates to ever grace the hallowed halls of the Ranook Bastion’s Tower of Divination, the man has also gone on to glean degrees and certificates from several other schools of magic as well, always at the top of his class. Such a stunning track record certainly branded the man well on his way to a future of brilliance and success, but none could have predicted his most recent crowning as the Servant, or governing ruler, over the entire city of magic itself. Now, though on paper fully prepared to take on the job, a young and unsure Cadell struggles with the massive responsibility that comes with his newly appointed position.

  • (Unsure of himself)

“What am I doing wrong? I’ve been a Servant for 12 days and no one has brought forward a dispute or a case…”

  • (Firm and self-assured)

“I’ve made my decision and I am not hearing any appeals. Next.”

  • (Smug and sarcastic)

“Oh, I’m terribly sorry. Am I interrupting something important?”

High Mage Ashhelm is the longtime head of the Ranook Bastion’s Tower of Necromancy, a particular trade that has been looked down upon for centuries by clerics and fellow wizards alike. Many laymen just don’t seem to understand the importance of Necromancy, but High Mage Ashhelm has dedicated his entire life to proving them wrong. The only problem is that his innate dwarvish temper, instead of affirming his cause, more often than not tends to result in much the opposite effect.

  • (Angry and preachy)

“Do you think we’re stupid Cadell? Your bias is inexcusable, disgusting- ”

  • (Irate)

    “HOW DARE YOU!”

  • (Lecturing)

“The respect of this city is something you have to earn, and you most certainly DO NOT have mine.”

Lurian is the recently appointed half-elven Seer to the newly crowned Servant Acosta Cadell. Born with an innate magical power that allows him to see into the future, the Empire took quite the avid interest in young Lurian, having him personally enrolled in a specialized school for gifted casters like himself with the sole purpose of furthering his abilities to better serve its causes. Unfortunately, this schooling has left the man practically absent of all normal emotion and much of any other goal rather than to serve his new master.

  • (Monotone and straight-forward)

“I’m a Seer Servant Cadell. Not coal. This is my job.”

  • (Insistent and slightly upset)

“Her name is Seviti Alrich. And she’s doing your job.”

  • (Authoritative)

    “Stand back, please.”
