River is a fire-powered (yes, a superpower) barista from Springfield, Red Pine who is trying to accept himself while dealing with the aftermath of a devastating forest fire. He is observant, caring, adventurous, and somewhat self-doubting. His voice should be capable of shifting between casual humor, emotional vulnerability, determination, and intense moments.

He is American and speaks fluent English in an American accent.

WHAT YOU NEED:

- Record in a good environment (this must be consistent)! I recommend using a mic, if you have one, but even if you don't, it's alright to audition. I need a CLEAR voice and no background noise. 

- BASIC AUDIO EDITING SKILLS. I will usually ask for cast to send in their recordings after making sure they took out any background noise louder than -60dB (absolute silence in areas of no speaking). You can use CapCut, Audacity, Adobe - I don't care as long as I don't hear your fan in the background. All files must be named as your name, character you're auditioning for, and the (number of the final recording) as an MP3 file.

His voice should be clear, calm, friendly, knowledgeable, and encouraging, particularly when speaking to students.

Deep-ish voice, slightly uncomposed/still young-adult.

He speaks English well and has an American accent.

I'm looking for people who understand character-driven storytelling, dialogue, pacing, emotional scenes, action, comedy, and long-form story development.

You should be able to write characters consistently and understand that different characters should have different voices, personalities, motivations, and ways of responding to situations. Reading the character sheets and world information docs are very important for this role.

WHAT YOU NEED:

• Strong English writing skills.

• Ability to write scenes clearly.

• Ability to take feedback and revise your work.

• Ability to communicate with the rest of the production team.
