[Proof of Concept] RWBY: Pulse

Project Overview

Simple and straightforward: this is a small proof of concept for a radio drama/audioplay I've been working on. It's a modern RWBY AU, set during your somewhat-typical zombie apocalypse scenario. It may never be completed in its entirety, but I want to gauge interest for it, or something like it, with a short scene.

Please have a good quality mic with minimal-to-no echo. You can do your own cleanup if you'd like but it's not necessary. We'll be doing everything through CCC, so there's no need for you to be on Discord.

In this AU, Ruby is a 17 y/o high school student from New York. She, Yang and Blake teamed up to escape the city at the start of the outbreak, and are now in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. Ruby's believed to be immune. Previously, she agreed to an experiment through which the group hopes to learn what they can about her supposed immunity and perhaps devise a cure.

  • 1. [frustrated] Do I look okay? 

    2. Yang, I know. You may not trust them, but I do. If this gives us a chance, I can’t just say no! They told me what the risk is, and I’ve made my choice.

  • 1. H-hey there… I’m Ruby. I’m really sorry this happened to you, but, uh… we’re hoping we can fix it, so hang in there, okay? I just-... just gotta…

    2. I’m working on it! You try getting someone to bite you on purpose…

  • 1. [screaming in pain] Ah! F-Fuck!

    2. Just some heavy breaths and sobs, frightened and panicking. Gradually level back out into calm.

In this AU, Blake is a 20 y/o from Queens. She's a barista at a pub and a freelance journalist. She, Yang and Ruby teamed up to escape the city at the start of the outbreak, and are now in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. Blake's pessimistic and doesn't have much faith in people, but genuinely cares about Ruby after the younger girl saved her life.

Yang was shaken deeply by Summer's death, and tries to keep herself upbeat and positive for Ruby's sake. She'll do anything to protect her sister, and is slowly warming up to Blake.
