Rogues of a feather(Thesis film)
Project Overview
Introduction
Hello! My name is Robin, and I am a senior studying experimental animation at Laguna College of Art and Design. This casting call is for my thesis short film, Rogues of a Feather, which is set to be finished in a little over a year now!
I am casting for 3 roles in my film, all of which are for the main characters of the short, as well as a musician/composer to make the score of the film!
All voices and lines are in the English language.
As I am on a student budget, I am offering a flat fee of 50$ for each of the main roles, though I am willing to offer more compensation if we end up needing a ton of retakes. For the composer/ musician role, I am also offering a flat fee of 125$ for a 5 and a half minutes of music.
All payments will be made through PayPal or Zelle.
All voice actors and composers will be listed in the credits of the film.
Short Film Overview
Rogues of a Feather takes place in a world of bird people who live on sky islands, and follows two Sky pirates, Captain Bridges and his first mate, Sunny. In this short, the two pirates find themselves at the mercy of a Marmalade, a navy captain who seems to have a long-time rivalry with Bridges and his personal army of marine henchmen. As Marmalade relishes in his victory, the two pirates desperately put their heads together to escape.
What to expect
Upon completion of auditions, I will hand out scripts to the voice actors.

He is one of the two protagonists and plays a leading role in the film.
Serving as Bridges' First Mate, Sunny is a seagull with an upbeat yet fussy personality. As someone from a wealthy and sheltered background, Sunny is still very unaccustomed to life as a pirate, and can be incredibly naive and even a little cowardly at times. Despite this, Sunny tries to approach every new trial with as much kindness and grace as he can muster. While he and Bridges bump heads constantly, Sunny is incredibly loyal to the old pirate and can't help but go along with whatever scheme the Captain cooks up.
I'm looking for an energetic yet a little refined and precise voice.

"Aww, thanks, Captain!"
"B-But that's preposterous! We haven't done anything wrong!
"Well, I didn't want to be rude! Besides, he seems like a nice enough fellow, I ... think!
one of the two protagonists and he plays a leading role in the film.
Bridges is a parrot that serves as the captain of the duo and has an abrasive and rugged personality. He is often incredibly boisterous, usually bragging about his years of pirate captain experience, and tends to be overconfident in his own abilities. Despite his facade as an old, tough pirate, Bridges tries his best to be a good person and stand up for what he believes is right, and has a lot of compassion for Sunny, who serves as his new first mate. He has a prior history and rivalry with the navy captain, Marmalade, whom he teasingly refers to as "Marmy".
I'm looking for a gruff yet charasmatic male voice.

"Apologize- For what!?"
"Well, me and my first mate here are more than enough for you, Marmy!"
"Ruined your life- You were quite literally prancing around Just a minute ago!"
Marmalade is the main villain of the story and has the most lines out of all the other characters.
Marmalade is a flamingo that serves as a captain of the Royal Navy. His personality is best described as flamboyant, over the top, cruel, arrogant, vain, yet charismatic. He is a strict adherent to a corrupted form of chivalry and will often invoke it to justify his own actions. Marmalade lords over the men under his command, utilizing them as if they were extensions of his own hands at his beck and call. Marmalade takes great pride in his appearance and goes to great lengths to appear as graceful and refined as possible, has impeccable taste in fashion, and is practically never seen without his powdered wig. Which, underneath, hides a bald spot, a source of great insecurity and shame inflicted on him by bridges. Marmalade has a deep hatred of Bridges and will do practically anything to see him humiliated or begging for mercy.
I am looking for a refined yet fun, flamboyant, and boisterous voice for this character.

(laughing maniacally) "In accordance with section B-17.2 of mariners' law, any ship suspected of piracy is forfeit!"
"Oh right... you're not much of a captain these days, are you?"
"Damn you, Bridges... !"
I am looking for someone to make a score for the film! The run time is around 5 minutes and 30 seconds(I am cutting things down)
Here is a Spotify playlist of inspirations to help describe what I am looking for

- 1-2 in mind for the opening of the short.
- 3-4 are what I have in mind for the more action-oriented scenes
- 5-6 is what I have in mind for the resolution of the film
The rest are there to help describe the old-timey vibe of the setting along. The short itself is supposed to be fun and a little silly, so I would be interested in a direction that really leans into that.
