Recollection [Sims 4 VO Series.]

Hello there!

Welcome to Recollection’s Official Casting Call.


Written and Directed by Awesomista.


DEADLINE: JUNE 30TH.

**I made the deadline six months long so all of you talented VAs could get a chance to audition! I know a lot of the time there are VAs who want to audition, but are busy and aren’t able to. 


RULES
Use emotions. Without emotions, auditions tend to seem dull.

Read every line at least 3 times, so I can listen to the different ways you interpreted that line.

Make sure you have a clear microphone. I’ll be able to remove some background noise, but if there is heavy breathing, static, etc. I won’t be able to do so.

You’ll have 4 weeks to record lines! If you need an extension, let me know! I’m pretty understanding, and I’ll give extensions if needed.

If you don’t respond within 3 days, I may have to consider recasting. I understand that you won’t be able to record lines in three days, however I just need a response saying that you saw my email. 

Be committed! I can’t stress this enough! This project may go on for years if everything goes well. If life gets in the way, then I understand. But please don’t quit out of pure boredom!


PLOT

The story surrounds 20 y/o Dawn Hathaway. After an injury, Dawn loses all her memory of being a Princess. After the death of her mother Queen Aria, Dawn is swarmed into the castle since she’s next in line to the throne and becomes Queen of Cyndris. Dawn faces a lot of problems, one of which is that the Kingdom of Cyndris is being invaded by Bastian’s Clan (a group of killers trying to overthrow the royals.) Will Dawn be able to handle all of the challenges coming her way, or will she crumble under the pressure of it all?

VOCABULARY

**i didn't put many words in this section, because most of them are pretty basic.**

Cyndris (SIN-DRIS): The Kingdom that the Hathaway's reign. 

NYMPH (NIMF): a mythological spirit of nature imagined as a beautiful maiden inhabiting rivers, woods, or other locations.

SIREN: Female creatures whose singing lures sailors. (Basically like a mermaid.)

EXTRA NOTES

**From past projects, I’ve learned that some people aren’t comfortable with cussing, inappropriate scenes, etc. and i don’t want to cast anyone with a role that makes them feel uncomfortable! Please let me know what you’re comfortable with, I’ll take that into consideration as well. :)

PERSONALITY:

Hot-headed Dawn Hathaway knows what she wants. However she isn’t used to working for what she wants. When her mother dies and Dawn is next in line to the throne, she’s swarmed into the castle. However, there’s a little problem. After a fatal injury, Dawn has no recollection of being a princess.

  • (Anxious/Distressed) Dad, it’s way more than that. I’m not ready. I’m not a queen. I’m just a girl. A clueless girl, just trying to figure my life out. And right now, I’m not in a place where I’ve figured enough out to be the ruler of an entire kingdom. And I don’t have the etiquette, or the posture, o-or the-

  • (Soothing/Maternally) He was in pain. What he did… well, what he did was the best possible thing he could’ve done.  

  • (On the verge of tears) We may be related by blood, but you are NOT my family. And you never will be. Stop pretending you know me, because in reality, you don’t even know an inkling of what I’ve been through!

PERSONALITY:

Annabelle (an-nuh-bell) is Dawn’s younger sister who has lived in Cyndris her whole life. She’s naive, and always sees the good in everyone, however that doesn’t always come to her advantage. 

  • (Awkward/Uncomfortably) A lot of people say Simon is cold blooded. He’s just… Actually, now that I think of it, he is rather cold blooded. Heh.

  • (Flustered) Wh-What? Everyone! Why isn't there a centerpiece on this table! We have five minutes to prepare everything, and if there is not a centerpiece on every table... my reputation could tarnish! (Sighs) I'm sorry. But please, we need to make sure everything is perfect for the Prince.

  • (Happy, in tears) I'm so glad you're okay! I was worried you wouldn't make it.

  • (Awkward/Uncomfortable) Ma'am, is there any way I could be of assistance? Oh... not a good time?

  • (Awkward, Under His Breath) Do you ever wonder if your parents actually love each other? I mean, it was an arranged marriage-

  • (Angered/Sad) Did you just call me useless? You were the one who walked out on us seven years ago. I’ve done more for this kingdom than you have! And that’s not saying much. You just prance into the castle like you own the place!

Aerys (air-is) is Dawn’s childhood best friend. She gives great advice, and has always been there for Dawn, no matter what.

Talia (tah-lee-ah) was an orphan who was taken in by the Windsor Family. She moves into the castle when her two older brothers are arranged to marry the Hathaway sisters. 

  • (Gentle/Sweet/Excited but Calm.) Oh, you wanted to take me to the masquerade? Like... a date? Aw, that's so sweet of you.

  • (Soft/Slightly sad) I'm starting to think that you'd rather be here with her than with me... did you use me?

  • (Angrily, Crying) I did everything I could. Was that not enough?

  • (Broken) I'm sorry, Talia. But I put you in this position, so it's my responsibility to get you out of it.

Well, to start… instead of living in this luxurious castle, I’m stuck living in the dark forest, surviving off of your leftovers. Wouldn’t it be lovely for you to invite us peasants to your feasts once in a while? Or do you not associate yourself with people like us anymore?

  • (Taunting/Teasing) Oh, is that so Tommy Boy? I’m not allowed on these grounds because of a little mistake? Everyone makes mistakes, I can name a few of yours right here, right now. So all of your supporters can hear the dreadful things you’ve done. 

  • (Firm) Child. You can believe all the bullshit you want to believe. However soon enough, the truth will be revealed. And when it is, well… let’s just say you won’t see your mother in the same light.

BACKSTORY: Aria is Dawn and Annabelle's deceased mother who was the previous Queen of Cyndris. Although she is no longer alive, she shows up in many flashbacks.

  • (Bitter) I didn’t miss you with a bone in my body, Bastian.

  • (Weak) Please take care of this kingdom. You are Cyndris's only hope.

  • (Wise/Prophetic) Blood leads to more blood. War leads to more war. The only way we can solve our problems is sitting down together, and talking everything out.

  • (Defensive) Excuse me? Who do you think you are? That is no way to talk to a person with such accord. 

  • (Angered/Firm) Just because you wear that crown on your head does NOT mean your life matters more than the rest of ours.
