Prologue/Pilot Episode for Reborne Earth: Don't You DARE

Project Overview

"Reborne Earth" is a passion project of mine, and hopefully a future indie animated series in the making! For now though, this is the "prologue" or pilot episode for it. I would love to have any VA- experienced or not- join my project!! Here is the description for the story:

Reborne Earth takes place in a post-post apocalyptic world, around 10,000 years from our current day. In this day and age, every animal has evolved to become sentient, and magic is very common between everyone. However, our story takes place in Paxyo, a country where magic is banned, and actively builds a world without magic in it. When a group called the Devils of Iris start making a magical drug out of the countries Special Pets, Baby Earls, Darren Flosium is put on the case to find and arrest them. After a year of work, he is stumped and is therefore assigned a partner to his case, Lesath, who also just happens to be his ex best friend that he left behind in his past- not very good for our loner detective. Meanwhile, the story will also follow Asya and Sersi, both sisters in the infamous group. Sersi is the leader of the Devils of Iris, she believes in magic being her birthright, and is trying to make a stronger, more magic indusing drug, as well as evading the government. Asya on the other hand, is the opposite of that- scrawny and wants absolutely NOTHING to do with this group, and instead live out a normal life with what remains of her "normal" social circle.

    Hey guys!!

    Wowow I would have never expected so many of you to audition for my little episode thing!! when I first created my account on CCC I was expecting to get like.... maybe three auditions.... and the rest I'd have to beg my IRLs to help on... but now there's like 20 of you ish (across CCC and Google forms)?? Thank you guys it means the world to me!!

    I am still actively working on the script, this is because my co-writer had to drop working on this project so now I'm ""rewriting"" two main characters and the plot lwk, yikes! But I'll finish things before Wednesday. Speaking of which, five days left!! I'm so excited to hear everyones audition in full >:D

    I'll pick VAs for the role(s) pretty soon after the deadline passes, so keep an eye open on your DMs!! I'll message you on discord if I know it, otherwise I'll send a message here on CCC. Recordings I'd like to start ASAP, so it'll probably be same week-ish :] or at least I'll try!!

Timid as hell Jersey Devil, Asya was dragged into the gang out of necessity, but she doesn't actually want to be here. She has a very complicated relationship with Baby Earls, and also her sister as well, but maybe both of these things will be solved by the time the episode ends. While living secretly underground right under the governments noses, Asya still attempts to have a social life while also trying to convince her sister not to destroy other group members.

Hotheaded, and also weirdly manipulative, Sersi is the leader of the gang, starting it essentially. She runs the operation and she wants to run it PERFECTLY, anything out of line and you'll be beat up in the alleyway. She believes the drug is her birthright, and is hoping to maybe one day develop magical abilities if she takes enough. But for now, she's putting her members in line and also trying to convince Asya to be more apart of it. Family is forever, right?

  • So… My dearest sister Asya, could you do me this tiny tiny favor and cover Toryn’s work for now? [Asya: Why not Thanatos?] Sersi: Because he’s already familiar with his block. [Asya: Why not you?] Sersi: BECAUSE I have better things to do, please can you just do it?

A new KOP (Keeper of Peace) that just so happened to be assigned to the exact same person who abandoned her two years prior- great. Lesath is a human/dragon/thing (? even she doesn't know) who still somehow believes in a rekindling of the friendship... and if not, maybe she could have some closure? Lesath is very caring, thoughtful, but can also be stern and stands her ground to whatever Darren throws at her.

  • I don't even like coffee? (muttering almost) You've really completely forgotten about me. (normal voice again) What is your issue? I'm not going to solve this case for you.

  • You're stuck in your own head, Darren, that's why you can't solve this case! (Darren doesn't pay attention to her, ignoring her) You are genuinely impossible. I'm going to go for a walk. There's a file on the computer I think you should take a look at, if you've ever even cared about me.

Darren Flosium is the lead detective for the Devils of Iris case. He is a somber and cold man that is probably hiding more than he says from his past. In the script, he is forced to confront his past by having to work with his ex best friend, Lesath, after abandoning her 2 years prior, relearning how to work with people again. Perhaps he just might have the character development we are all hoping for.

  • A group who call themselves the Devils of Iris have been taking Baby Earls, for around two years now but could have been as long as four or five. They did this primarily by petnapping or taking in surrendered Baby Earls, which is how it flew under our radar for so long. They use these Baby Earls to illegally make a drug called Elixir- [Lesath, do not read: How the hell do you make a drug out of a Baby Earl?] Darren: Don’t interrupt me. Nobody knows how they make the drugs, which makes them the harder to track. Every scientist in Paxyo has assumed anything and everything, but the only feasible conclusion is, well, magic.

  • I’ve tried everything: Found suspects, raided warehouses, interviewed users, checked every camera. I don’t have a single lead on a person, not even a specific species. They deal the drugs and then they seem to disappear forever. (pause) But no one really "disappears" in Paxyo, do they? They must have a warehouse, a basement, a place to meet. But where? They meet in alleyways, parks, train stations, and once they are slightly out of view of a nanobot they are gone just like that. It makes no sense, surely they would have slipped up by now… I just need to find it.

  • No, these are the reports. (Lesath looks at him sternly) What? You can’t expect me to take every single one seriously. The people report whatever when it comes to Starrlings.
