ULTRAKILL: The Chronicles of Maverick
Project Overview
The Chronicles of Maverick, or TCoM, is a series based off the retro FPS game, ULTRAKILL. It also has the story of the now-cancelled fan-made DLC for the game, Project Purgatorio, with my own lore to fill the gaps.
This call is for the prologue, a series of episodes that set the stage for the main story.
The prologue is split into three different plotlines that each have a different setting.
- INFERNO: The "main" prologue. Takes place in various locations around the globe until eventually being fully set in Japan. It focuses on the discovery of the gates to Hell, and the following Hell Expeditions.
- PURGATORIO: Takes place on an island in the very middle of the Pacific Ocean home to Mount Purgatorio, in which a group of New Peace researches establish a facility on the base called Rubicon, deducting research on the mountain, and one man doing unauthorized research on soul manifestations.
- PARADISO: Takes place long before the other two. It takes place in Heaven and focuses on what was happening after God disappeared.
NOTE: Both INFERNO and PURGATORIO take place at the exact same time, just in different locations, while PARADISO takes place centuries before.
For this, it is recommended you at least have some knowledge of the lore of ULTRAKILL, however, it is not at all required.
This is an unpaid passion project, and as such, all roles are volunteer. However, full credit will be provided as the series gets released.
Voice Actor
Tom is the (presumed) founder of the Hell Expeditions, and is adressed in the secret terminals at the end of [P-1: SOUL SURVIVOR]. In the P-1 terminal the author politely asks Tom to stop playing “were you foolin” over the intercom. Given the data on the terminal it can also be assumed Tom was the Hell Expedition’s CRO
He is also mentioned in the 410th page of a book in the Library of Babel, where the author is begging for Tom to cancel the Hell Expeditions.
In TCoM, Tom is also the founder of The Rubicon Project, the establishment of a research facility at the base of Mount Purgatorio, which also had to be cancelled alongside the Hell Expeditions after researchers created a highly dangerous entity dubbed "Subject 23" that they had no choice but to seal in the facility.

Chantal is an individual mentioned in a secret book in [8-3: DISINTEGRATION LOOP]. Little is known about her other than that she had gone missing some time during the New Peace. It's possible that Hell was responsible for her disappearance, having killed or done something else to her as a precursor for what it would later do to humanity, perhaps giving some detail as to what was happening on Earth before the extinction.
Before her disappearance, Chantal was the second-in-command for the Hell Expeditions and Rubicon Project. But she was always known to be wary of the two projects, always telling Tom about the uneasy feeling she would have going into the operations.

Gilles was a scientist during the New Peace, and a lead member in the 1SH-KUR community, being the lead of the notorious cow cloning project used to bring back animals that went extinct during the Final War.

Michel is the head of the 1000-THR community, being the one who would give orders to those of Maverick, Kyle, Jean, and Marie while the mentioned were still in the community before the Hell Expeditions.

Jacques is the head manufacturer of the company that created the V-Series prototypes, having a big hand in the creations of V1 and V2.

Georges is a researcher at Rubicon who would go on to draw suspicious conspiracies about James' research, having a feeling of James being up to something. He was also the main constructer of The Dome, a place in Rubicon where they would make machines fight for fun.

Marie is a community member of the 1000-THR who eventually joined the Hell Expeditions for research. Often deemed the "softie, or the gentlest" member of the 1000-THR crew, she is known to be very soft, kind, and loyal to those around her.

Raphael is a minor character whose only appearance in base ULTRAKILL is on a painting in [8-1: HURTBREAK WONDERLAND]. But in TCoM, he serves a bigger role, serving as the one who gave the order to Gabriel to stop Maverick's slaughter through Hell. He eventually became the head leader of Heaven after Gabriel and the Councils deaths.

Lucifer is a character mentioned in the Secret Terminal found in [ 5-S: I ONLY SAY MORNING ] and a hidden book found in [ 8-3: DISINTEGRATION LOOP ] originated from Christian traditions. He opposed The Father's creation of Hell, questioning the necessity to eternally torment sinners over temporary actions. His Creator, who was absolutely flabbergasted, dumbfounded and discombobulated at what he had just done, responded to this by throwing the Angel into the bottomless pit and then regretting it.
It is currently unknown what happens to him next, but from one of Gabriel's in-game voice lines ("You make even the Devil cry!", it can be assumed that the Devil was hailed as the chief evil spirit in ULTRAKILL's main religion, just like in canon Christianity.
In TCoM, Lucifer had also made a proposal to Phanuel prior to being expelled about a place for sinners to rehabilitate, an idea the latter would take to eventually create Purgatory after God disappeared.
