Project: 'Sparrow' | Indie Game Casting Call; 3rd Round
Project Overview
This is Round Three of casting for "Project: Sparrow". If you would like more information regarding the project and casting information, please refer to the First Round listed in my profile.
Director's Note : Hello, and thank you for taking the time to audition for this casting call! This is the third and final round of major casting for Project: Sparrow. This round focuses on the major antagonists for the project.
I am looking for a more grounded portrayal. While these characters and the world are inspired by anime, I am not too keen on the tropes and "quirks" related to the genre's general voice direction.
ADDITIONAL NOTE : Unlike the first round, the roles listed do not have "Points of Reference" attached to them below the character/vocal descriptions. For these roles, my hope for those auditioning, is that they can breathe their own life into the character without any guard rails defining how that character might sound in my head, as the director.
Put simply, I am giving the auditioner full creative control over how the character can sound, and selecting those that I believe are able to embody the character well.

A cruel and unkind man, willing to commit the most atrocious acts all to experience the feeling of enacting them upon others. Those who speak of him say that he is an unassuming monster with a disposition that is disquieting for anyone who comes in contact with him. There is not an ounce of humanity to be found within him. He is evil given form.
Kojiro's voice is deep, resonant, and eerily calm. It echoes with a low thrum, commanding the room with power and finality. He speaks with a timbre that can only be described as the drawn string of a cello. It's an uncanny melody that gives pause those who hear it. He does not raise his voice. He does not yell, exclaim or anything of the sort.
His voice carries like the call of Death, coming to collect his due.

Suzuki is a woman marred by a life lived in perpetual melancholy. With her sanity eroded to such a degree, her behavior is erratic and she is feared by those around her, no one ever knowing what she will do next. The motives behind her actions are as chaotic and unfocused as she is, the only through line being that she fills the hole in her heart with the blood of others.
Suzuki's voice is ghostly, her words carrying like wisps on the wind. She speaks with a slow but steady rhythm. Her voice has a tender softness to it that sharpens, turning cold and bitter when she is displeased. It echoes, almost as if disembodied.

A snide and ruthless reptile of a man who lives for the opportunity to enact suffering upon others. Keigo not only enjoys violence, he revels in it. He enjoys the thrill it provides him, that feeling of being overtaken with ecstasy, and is willing to do anything in the pursuit of it. Even against himself.
He takes pride in his "work" and considers it an artform. Keigo has no ulterior motives behind his actions, he is simply enamored by the sight of blood.
His voice is slightly low, a touch smoky with an off-putting musicality that tinges the words he speaks. His speech is like that of a snake personified. He carries every one of his words with both honey and venom in tow, choosing very carefully which to use.

Atsuko is an intelligent, calculated and ruthless woman. Her presence strikes the fear of God in those she meets. Intimidating even to the most hardened of criminals, she spends her time planning. Watching. Waiting. Looking for the perfect opportunity to strike. She is a cruel, unrelenting hunter willing to employ any tactic, no matter how questionable the method, to catch her prey.
Atsuko's voice is rich, luminous, and resonant. She speaks with authority, careful precision and a diction that commands any room she enters. Almost as if she comes from high status, her speech is as graceful as she is verbose.

Yumeko presents herself as a sort of high-class lady, demure and dignified. However, hidden behind this carefully curated facade is a sadistic, psychotic woman. Someone who wants nothing more than to bring the world crashing down around her. Sowing discord and causing chaos is her vice, and it is one she won't be letting go of anytime soon.
Yumeko's voice is bright, with a silken and honeyed tone that can bring any man to his knees. She usually speaks with a slightly posh, almost vintage approach. Every word carrying an air of superiority. Something in the same vein as a Transatlantic accent (Marylin Monroe, Judy Garland, Audrey Hepburn. etc.).
