Project Honeyworks - Ken and Arisa

Project Overview

What is "HoneyWorks"?

HoneyWorks is an independent music circle, and the creator of Confession Executive Committee; a series of songs with a shonen-manga-like feel. They have a bunch of different stories in the form of songs, that all play in the same universe and weave a web of love stories and drama.

Which songs will be covered in this project?

For now, we plan on covering every song including Ken Shibasaki and Arisa Takamizawa. This means three songs for Ken (Ijiwaru na Deai, Namaiki Honey, and Samishigariya) and three songs for Arisa (Heart no Shuchou, Ijiwaru na Deai ANOTHER STORY (fanmade by me), and Namaiki Honey ANOTHER STORY). We also possibly plan on dubbing some parts of the Light Novel and Manga in the future, but that isn't for sure quite yet.

Requirements?

1) Good Microphone Quality.

2) As we will cover multiple songs, you will need to be comfortable singing.

3) Their songs are romantic in nature, so you'll have to be comfortable with that!

4) Please have a Discord account!

5) You need to be able to work with deadlines; because while I do not mind extending them for a certain amount of time, there is a limit on how long I can extend them.

1) I might change the lyrics as time goes on! I hope that won't throw anyone off.


2) This is my first time opening a singing-related casting call, and as I am not a singer myself, I was at a bit of a loss as to what I should provide. If there's anything I should/could change, please feel free to send me a private message or something so I can fix it! Thank you very much!

If you would like help with the rhythm, DM me and I'll send you a sample of me horribly singing it, so you can hopefully get an idea on the rhythm! If there's another, more efficient way to do this, please message me and tell me, haha. Thank you for your time!

  • A Change of Plans

    Hello everyone! Quick update on this project. I've decided to switch up my plans for this project for now. Instead of focusing on covers of the Honeyworks songs, I'll be focusing on something I am much more acquainted with- and that is a visual-novel esque fanmade series of shorts! You'll be able to find more details on that in a new Casting Call that I'll be uploading soon. I'd like to elaborate on why this project is delayed for now, though. I have very little experience with covers- mixing, for example. While I enjoy writing lyrics, I realized that this isn't something I can just dive in headfirst and expect to turn out as well as I want it to. As such, I'd like to become more experienced regarding song-mixing before I try taking on a project of this size. The Precious Story Casting Call will be featuring Arisa and plenty of other characters- except they will be cast as exclusively "talking" voices. No singing for now. I hope to see some of you auditioning for the project, and I sincerely apologize for the rather sudden ending that this casting call had to come to.   • Apologies for the delay.

    Hi everyone! I'd like to start this update off by apologizing for the delay on the Casting decisions. I've been putting most of my voice acting related projects to the side in order to attempt to improve my mental health, as well as my grades in school. Now, I finally feel comfortable enough with myself to get back to work! I'll get to casting the roles for this casting call soon, and hopefully even if you don't get cast, we'll be able to work together in the future! -Scalpha

  • Deadline pushed back + Accidentally missed a word in Ken's audition

    Hi, everyone! This is rather embarrassing to say, but I accidentally missed a word in Ken's first song. It was supposed to say: "It's so simple, They all *fall* for the same lines, Be nimble" But I forgot the "fall" part. I'm so sincerely sorry! I changed it, but can't believe I noticed this late. I've decided to push back the deadline of the casting call as well. I'd like to once more repeat that, if you need help with the rhythm, you can message me either on here or on Discord (Scalpha#2338) and I'll send you a sample message! At the start of the series, Ken is what many would call a "playboy"-character. He cares little for 'love,' and treats it like a game. He says that it's because 'no one is able to move his heart'. In truth though, the reason why he avoids things such as love and commitment is that, as he grew up, he witnessed the breaking marriage between his parents. It severely distorted his view on love as a whole... until he met Arisa.

Arisa helped him realize that he isn't like his parents. In reality, he is his own person, capable of loving and capable of being a part of a stable, committed relationship. It was thanks to her that he was able to change and regain his smile, his joy in life, and his sense of self.

    The first time I spoke to her was a bit after I started high school. I tried out my usual pick-up lines, fully expecting you to fall for them right away; just like everyone else. And yet... you called out my act. You saw right through me.

    Your words... "Why are you acting like that?"

    They never left my head. For some reason, I couldn't seem to enjoy flirting with anyone anymore. I've never fallen in love with anyone for real- No one's managed to touch my heart like that before, and that was completely fine by me... But for some reason, I couldn't get you out of my head. I kept wondering; what would I have to do to make you smile, to make you look my way, to make you fall for me? Love has always been a game for me... until I met you.

Arisa used to ignore her own compassion in an attempt to fit in. When a fellow student got bullied- she desperately wanted to help, but couldn't bring herself to do so. She was scared that if she spoke up against them, she would be hated as well... thus, she buried her compassion deep inside her. Until, due to a certain incident, she finally managed to build up enough courage to stand up for what she believed was right. She stood up for the bullied girl- and as she expected, got bullied in return... but she didn't regret it, because she finally stood up for herself.

Now, Arisa is a courageous and outgoing girl, willing to stand up for her friends, no matter what. She's still not the best at communicating, due to her deeply rooted fear of being abandoned- but she's doing her best on a day-to-day basis. And that's what matters.

    During my first year in high school, I was in the same class as him. I still remember the first time he spoke to me; he smiled the same exact way he did when coming onto other girls. He said the exact same words he said to other girls. It all felt so very shallow- but I understood.

    His smile was fake.

    To avoid being hated, he buried his true self and blended in with the crowd... Just like me. So I vocalized my concern. "Why are you acting like that? Must be boring."

    Turning my back towards him, I walked away as he was left frozen on the spot. But in the depths of my mind, I couldn't help but wonder...

    Hey? Where is the real 'you'? How deep have you buried it? Why do I see so much sadness in your eyes?
