Project Overview

Project Haze is a Furry Visual-Novel esque fantasy game about rag-tag band of college 'gifted' misfits entering a spell-caster competition. It centers around Kentrale, a tanuki with a secret; he can't cast magic, but he can wish for anything in the world to happen. He joins a pack of 'Gifted UnGifted's' who fight various challengers, grow deep bonds, and learn to put aside their doubts and have fun. I'm starting this off as a small, one-two episode Audio Drama to get a better grasp of the characters, but in the future, I plan to expand this to a story-based game, or an animated series.

  • Casting is complete!

    Hello, and thanks to everyone who auditioned! Casting for this episode was very difficult, everyone's voices had their own unique strengths and qualities that made making choices rough, but thanks to the increase in scope of this episode, everyone who auditioned has a role!

    The script for Episode 1 is fully complete and is ready for read-throughs and any potential revisions. I want to allow everyone the chance to get familiar with the material before they start voicing so that they can put their own unique interpretation behind every line. This is y'all's project just as much as it is mine, and I want everyone to feel great with the material. I'll be reaching out either with a mailing list or a discord server depending on availability.

    If you initially auditioned for one role and I went with someone else, I extended an offer for another role for a voice that appears during the pilot. I initially made the casting call before the script was completed as I wanted to build some of the characters around your voices, and as I worked on the script, I realized I needed more characters in certain areas, so I made more, and offered up these additional roles. Each one has it's importance to the plot of the episode, and I hope you'll accept.

Declan is the reliable smart-ass of the group. Huge nerd, albeit casual in his intelligence, he's playful yet troubled. People often take his gentle nature for weakness, but he can easily take on any challenge. I imagine him as on the spectrum, and he holds himself back far too much, but he's a talented spellcaster and inventor.

Abram is this seemingly uptight, chill yet mature figure of the group. Forced to mature at a young age, he's multifaceted, having to deal with a wreck of a family. Barely able to give himself a moment of rest until this competition, he's always being supportive, if a bit tired and fed up. He still has a playful, rebellious side to him.

Cody is our classic troublemaker of the friendgroup. He's all happy-go-lucky and casual, but a prime example of Smiling Depression, masking darker inner feelings. He dresses himself up in this playful, perfect, teasing persona to avoid confronting who he is, and is easily the most self-conscious.

Lucian is our main antagonist of the story. masking himself in plain sight with his 'Santi' persona. He attempts to be happy-go-lucky, chill, and well-regarded all at once, but masks a lot of hatred, both internal and external.

Coach is one of the first few voices that the audience hears. He's Kentrale's mentor figure, turning from a would-be assassin for the then 5 year old to a mentor figure, training him and helping him hone his power. He's tough, but he's soft, caring for Kentrale when nobody else would. He's called Coach because it was uncomfortable having Kentrale call him 'dad.'

Clair De Lune is our announcer voice heard throughout the story. She works at the midnight club of the hotel the cast stays at, singing jazz and doing comedy improv. She’s a mixture of influences from Lucy Darling and Effie from The Hunger Games.
