Project Overview

INTRODUCTION

PROJECT CLASH is the working title for our upcoming fantasy Minecraft machinima web series. The story centers on adventurers of a once prosperous nation on the eve of a great war. It will feature epic adventure with dynamic animated action, as well as character drama and political intrigue. This project is the most ambitious production we have ever undertaken, and it is part of our design goals to assemble an ensemble of memorable characters brought to life by memorable performances.

I am Raphael Pacheco, the writer, director, and producer behind PROJECT CLASH, and welcome to our open casting call! This page represents Phase 1 of our casting for this immense project. Included here is the main cast as well as recurring supporting characters. Phase 2 casting will open on Casting Call Club at a later date, and will include more minor characters and significant one-off appearances. 


EXPECTATIONS

So what are we looking for in our talent? Though our budget is small, these are paid roles, so at minimum we would request that you have a decent microphone and a good recording environment. Naturally, a professional and friendly attitude is a huge plus, and taking direction is a must. Given the genre of this project, many roles will require particular accents. 


THE PROCESS

Final casting decisions will be made on November 26th. If you land a role, we will be in touch to sign a basic contract, share the scripts, and schedule voiceover sessions in the coming months. We primarily use Discord for communication, but if you have another preference such as Skype, Zoom, or any other platform, accommodations can be made. 

All sessions will be held in a live call, with you recording locally on your end while I give direction. I will be the voice director, but other producers may also be present. 

After you have finished and sent all of your recordings, you will be paid $0.06 USD per word, with each character's total listed on this casting call. Keep in mind that the scripts are not yet locked, so these totals are subject to change. I'm not opposed to some improvisation if the inspiration strikes you, but you will only be paid for your character's written words. You will also be responsible for providing your own means of receiving payment. PayPal is our preferred method, but if you have another equally convenient preference then feel free to use it.

Phase 2 will launch next Friday, December 3rd, and will include minor characters and significant one-off appearances, all paid at the same rate of $0.06 USD per word.   • Midpoint Update

    Over the weekend we crossed the halfway mark, meaning there now remains just under TWO WEEKS until the deadline! We've already heard so many tremendous auditions, which will certainly make casting some of these roles a tough call (though for others there are clear favorites among the producers). The rate of incoming auditions has greatly slowed, but out of fairness and thoroughness we still intend to keep the call open until the deadline of November 26th. On the day of the deadline, we will announce our casting decisions, as well as the launch date for Phase 2 of casting on this project.

  • Week 1 Update

    Hey all! Just wanted to post a quick update now that we are 1 week into the casting call. We here at P3 have been blown away by the magnitude of the response. It's hard to believe only 7 days have passed, as we've now received 112 submissions and counting. Wow! Thanks for your collective enthusiasm! As a reminder, the casting call will remain open until November 26th, so please keep those auditions coming! We have already heard some extraordinary talent, and have assembled quite the shortlist. But there are still many roles for which we haven't heard anyone that immediately jumps out as embodying the character. So whether you haven't submitted an audition, or you're considering submitting additional auditions, don't hesitate. You never know if you're the one we need! In the meantime, the other producers and I will continue listening to every single submission. We look forward to hearing all those to come.

But after meeting and befriending her polar opposite in Samira, she is sure to be dragged out of her comfort zone and into a world of trouble.

The charlatan. An easygoing, slick-talking petty criminal who helps the Oasis crew to escape captivity. As a native of the story's evil empire, he provides much needed inside knowledge and exposition as he accompanies the crew on the rest of their adventures.

The fighter. A simple, fun-loving warrior who would want nothing more than to kick down doors, fight bad guys, and relax with his compatriots around a tavern. His carefree facade belies his true strength, as well as his deep loyalty to his team.

The monk. After abandoning his bandit tribe, a religious encounter in the wilderness converted him to faith. He has since lived as a monk, adopting the monastery's lifestyle and creeds as his own. His wisdom, knowledge, and martial arts skill proves him a valuable ally in the central quest, and after reuniting with his sister, he helps her to work through her issues, and reclaim a semblance of her former self. 

  • I’ve heard redemption’s call... I must answer.

  • Takes you back, does it not, sister? 

  • I’ve seen many of his kind before. It is true that they cannot be stopped. No threat of physical danger will ever sway their course. The only thing that can match such determination is conviction of another kind.

He's as sharp as his father, and climbed the ranks just as quick. Though he's fast to boast of his successes, his new assignment bodyguarding Lady Sophia is bound to temper that confidence.

An American accent is also acceptable for this character. 

  • (Speech) Citizens! We are gathered here today to mark a historic event. Today the EMS Oasis, the fastest and best equipped frigate in the Royal Navy’s brief history, embarks on her maiden voyage. 

  • (Somber) You're right. I'm not my father. And this isn't an era of peace anymore.
