Seeking Voice Actors for "Prithvi's Healing Home for Fantastical Creatures" - A student film

Project Overview

Looking for 2 female voice actors for my third year student film, "Prithvi's Healing Home For Fantastical Creatures". The film is planned to be an animated short between 2-3 minutes.

Synopsis: In a hospital healing fantastical creatures of all kinds, a young girl tries to deliver a homemade meal to her mother while avoiding her mother’s doctors- a scary bear much larger than her, accompanied by a timid chicken. From peeking in rooms with giant frogs with the flu to hiding underneath the bellies of dragon sheep relearning to fly, the girl finally finds her mother to reveal that she was trying to avoid the doctors not because of the intimidating bear, but because she was trying to deliver a dish made out of chicken. They enjoy the meal, much to the chicken doctor’s surprise.

Regular delivery is fine, but since film takes place in India, strong preference will be shown to those of Indian or South Asian descent/origin

Ariba is a young girl in India who's determined, agile, and yet socially nervous! She spends the film being chased down, vocally asking for worried/running noises and reactions to the fantastical stuff that happens in rooms around her.

She has only one speaking line, but makes reactionary noises for the rest of the film. She also loves her mother. I imagine her to come off as lovably goofy. General vocal inspirations (which you can disregard to your liking!) I imagine to be Bee from Bee/Puppycat and Chihiro from Spirited Away.

I am looking for a believable voice of 6 to 10 years old.

  • (To the receptionist) Hello! I brought a gift for my mother.

  • (Action note: Ariba looks at the doctors in fear, clutching the dish tighter. She prepares to run.) (Please give me this reactionary noise)

  • (Give me a general recording of non verbal noises- examples like becoming excited, becoming worried, falling, running, etc)

This is a very brief speaking role in the film but still plays an integral part to the final punchline.

The mother is a woman from India in her 30s, kind hearted and motherly. She is currently staying at the hospital for an unspecified treatment and travels in a wheelchair. Her daughter has come to visit her with a gift.

  • Oh, you brought my favorite! Chicken!
