[DISCLAIMER #2 - THIS PROJECT HAS ZERO TOLERANCE FOR BIGOTRY, IF YOU HAVE SOMETHING AGAINST PEOPLE THAT AREN'T BOTHERING YOU, GET OUT.]
Many things have restrictions. For better, or for worse. Though, that begs the question. If you were to go beyond known limits, what would happen...?
I am proud to introduce my newest dub project, Pokémon Legends: Z-A - Dub Unlimited! This project aims to be a fully voice-acted unofficial fandub of Pokémon Legends: Z-A and its DLC, Mega Dimension. Not only that, but I also plan to make some song covers for this dub!
A few years ago, I made another Pokémon fandub project, The Dubbed Treasure Of Area Zero. It was pretty similar to this one, and was a fully voice-acted fandub of Pokémon Scarlet & Violet's DLC, The Hidden Treasure Of Area Zero. It was a fun time, and when I played through Pokémon Legends: Z-A about a week after its worldwide release, I was stunned at how amazing its story was. And so, I decided. This has to be dubbed. Immediately. Anyway, this is the page where you can audition for this project. There will of course be voice acting roles, which will also act as singer roles if that character shows up in a cover, and there will also be auditions for artists to hop onboard the project, mainly to draw illustrations that will feature in covers. This'll also probably be the only casting call for this dub, so now's your chance if you wanna be a part of it. We're also gonna need a composer, but there's better information down below. And for voice acting auditions, feel free to do multiple takes of a character's voice to see what works best! My preferred audition format is AABBCC, which means doing all voices for one line before moving to the next, instead of doing all the lines in one voice before moving to the next voice. Although, of course, this isn't mandatory.
Also, should mention this right off the bat, but there are a few prerequisites to auditioning, those being:
-You must be at least vaguely familiar with Pokemon Legends: Z-A and its plot.
- You must have a Discord account so I can contact you, and include said Discord handle in your audition. (While you're at it, feel free to join my Discord server, though this is not an explicit requirement)
- You must understand that this is going to be a long-term project, and will most likely take over one full year at the minimum.
- You must have a decent enough microphone quality.
- For voice actors auditioning for roles that feature in covers, you must be willing to sing, as there are many covers that will be done for this project.
- For artists, it is recommended to be decently skilled at drawing humans, Pokémon, and backgrounds. If you aren't a jack of all trades, that's fine, as you may be able to collaborate with other artists on this project to cover all the bases.
- You must be okay with there being no payment for this project, as this is merely a passion project and also because I am broke as hell. I'll be honest, I really do hate to put you all through this work without an opportunity of pay, because you really do deserve it, it's just that I'm not at all in a financial position to be making this project a matter of money. I'm sorry.
While on the topic of auditioning, I want to mention this; this game takes place in the Kalos region, which is heavily inspired by France. However, that does not mean I want every character to have a French accent, as I'd like for there to be a good diversity of voices in our colorful cast of characters. There are a few characters that I do want accents for, but I'll bring that up when we get to them.
Yet another thing I gotta bring up, I'm gonna be prematurely taking the role of Paxton for this dub, so apologies if anyone wanted him.
One very last thing, here is the full list of planned covers in this dub just in case someone auditions for a character featuring in one or more of them:
-Battle, Vs. Team MZ (Taunie, Naveen, Lida)

Taunie is the main rival in Pokémon Legends: Z-A, showing up when choosing Paxton as the player character, which is exactly the case here. She's very energetic, loves to help people out, and always feels the need to repay when others do her a favor. For example, when this strange character by the name of AZ gave her a place to stay in Hotel Z free of charge, Taunie feels the need to advertise the hotel and help out with business. In fact, it's in these promotional stunts that Taunie meets up with Paxton, who she lets stay at Hotel Z, and also lets him join Team MZ, a team operating from Hotel Z which she leads and aims to reach the top of the Z-A Royale. It should also be noted that over the course of the dub, there is going to be implied romantic tension between her and Paxton. It will not be explicitly or commonly be referenced or confirmed throughout the dub as to keep my own personal headcanons from heavily interfering with the dub, but it is something that should be known regardless.
And now for voicing her. Again, she's going to be pretty energetic, but, she is still in quite a few serious moments, and should have a decent enough emotional range for those scenes. But, for the majority of her scenes, she does seem to maintain a consistently happy-go-lucky attitude, so that should be reflected in her voice. I can't say that there are any particular accents or vocal afflictions that I absolutely want her to have, so feel free to experiment a bit with those.

(Talking to her Pokémon, excited, sounding observant near the end) Today's mission is to add to our ranks! We'll spread the word about how great Hotel Z is, and once there's a guest who looks like they've got what it takes, we'll recruit 'em to the cause! Now we need a tourist who really looks the part...
(Talking to Paxton, sounding sentimental whilst requesting his assistance) Listen... I owe AZ big-time for all the help he's given me since I got here. I want to do right by him in return. Not to put you on the spot, but...think you could give me a hand?
(Serious, desperate to have her handle a dire situation on her own in place of Paxton) No, wait. Please...please let me do this instead. I know what I said, but...I still want to do my part to protect the people and Pokémon of Lumiose! And as the trainer strong enough to beat me, I think Paxton has a job only he can do.
Naveen is one of the secondary rivals in Pokémon Legends: Z-A. In a pretty stark contrast to Taunie, he is very reclusive and introverted, and doesn't want to let on more than he has to. Much like Taunie, he also has a place to call home in Hotel Z, which he mostly uses as a safe haven for his sewing hobby, which his grandmother at home isn't too fond of. He is also a member of Team MZ, much like Paxton, Taunie and Lida. He is a bit distant to the rest of his crew at the beginning of the game, but he does start to open up to them a bit as the plot moves forward, even if he doesn't realize it. He is also a HUGE fan of Canari, an in-universe streamer, and is very quick to get defensive over her, given how he reacts to the rest of Team MZ (probably intentionally) mispronouncing her name.
When it comes to voicing him, as I said, he should sound reclusive and introverted. However, he shouldn't sound shy or shuddery, if that makes sense. There's definitely quite a few similarities between "shy" and "introverted", but you're gonna have to know the difference if you want to voice this character. His voice should also sound low and quiet most of the time, and occasionally monotone, but you should also be able to raise your voice and have more emotion with him for certain moments (Exhibit A: Getting defensive over Canari XD).

(Introducing himself to Paxton, keeping things short and brief) Hmm. So you're the new member who Taunie is so pleased to have on board. I recognized you by the jacket, I'm the one who embroidered that logo on it. My name's Naveen. I'm another member of Team MZ. So we're teammates, I suppose.
(Arguing with Lida, slightly ticked off) Leave me out of this, please. This is an invasion of privacy. I'm not particularly interested in all of your business, and I wish you'd stay out of mine.
(Completely fed-up with all the jabs Team MZ has made at Canari, angered out of his mind) Her name is Canari! CA-NA-RI! She's not some random streamer!
Lida is one of the secondary rivals in Pokémon Legends: Z-A. She's pretty similar to Taunie, being a pretty energetic girl, though not to the extent as Taunie, but there is still more to her than that. She aspires to become a professional dancer, taking after her half-brother, Tierno, a character from Pokémon X&Y, the prequels to Pokémon Legends: Z-A. She ended up in Lumiose after receiving a scholarship to a dance school there, but worried about how to pay rent after her roommate moved out. After that, Lida met with Taunie, who also let her stay at Hotel Z and join Team MZ. She is also essentially the "main strategist" of Team MZ, as she leads all of the team's strategy meetings whenever needed.
And for voicing Lida, I'll say that it'll basically be pretty similar to Taunie, with a few alterations. Again, pretty energetic, but she does still know when to take things seriously. Lida also has a quite infamous "awkward smile" which she uses in a few scenes, so you really gotta be able to sell that expression if you want to voice her. Also, she should have some sort of slight Asian accent, as she is originally from the Hoenn region, which is based off of a part of Japan.

(Tired and slightly peeved, having just woken up to Paxton and Taunie's antics) Taunie, could you turn it down, like, two notches? Can't you shush 'em, AZ? Yell at 'em a little?
(Talking with Paxton, more happy and energetic) You seem like you're always ready to dive in and help out someone in need, kinda like Taunie. It's comforting! You're dealing with a lot yourself though, right? Trying to win the Z-A Royale is a big deal! Not that I haven't had a bunch happening on my end too... As you can see, what's "happening" is dancing!
(Conversing with Paxton during a strategy meeting, putting on an awkward smile after hearing his absurd response) We might wanna stop by the Stone Emporium to stock up on Mega Stones sometime soon. I bet that'd help us with all these Rogue Pokémon. What do you think, Paxton? ...[Paxton: Does the emporium have insurance?]... THAT'S your takeaway?
Vinnie is a man who works for Quasartico Inc., the company behind Lumiose City's urban redevelopment plan, and serves as a secretary to Jett, the CEO of the company. He tends to be pretty serious a lot of the time, and tries to keep the funny business to a minimum. However, that is not to say that he doesn't have a soft side beneath his tough exterior. He frequently assists Team MZ in their endeavors, mostly with handling the Rouge Mega Evolution phenomenon, which they are trying to find a solution to before the public finds out.
And now, for the voice stuff. Like I described, he should sound pretty tough and serious most times, but can still show some deeper emotions from time to time. I think it should go without saying, but his voice should naturally sound pretty deep. He should also frequently speak with a powerful tone, yet easing up on it when getting more emotional.

(Introductory and professional) I am the CEO's secretary in title, though in practice, I am more often her errand boy. Regardless, I'm pleased to meet you. And please accept my apologies on behalf of the company for any inconveniences you may have suffered due to our urban redevelopment efforts.
(A bit more emotional, and more concerned for his Buneary than anything else) How formidable! Perhaps I put too great a burden on Buneary, it only just joined my team!
(Very serious and affirmative) I'm afraid there's no time to waste, so allow me to get straight to the point. The tower is emitting more Mega Power by the minute. If it keeps up this pace, the entire city will be overrun with Rogue Mega-Evolved Pokémon.
Jett is the CEO of Quasartico Inc. Her company is behind Lumiose City's urban redevelopment plan, aiming to revamp the city after the reawakening of The Ultimate Weapon five years prior. She is Taunie's grandmother, which ends up making her a key player in her own plotline, and she also hands her entire company down to Taunie when they finally discover their familial relations. She really doesn't have that much screentime in the game, so she actually ends up being a somewhat small character in the grand scheme of things.
I don't really know what I'm supposed to say as far as voicing her is concerned. She's probably older than a turtle for all I know, so there's one thing. That also happens to be the only thing, as I have no other ideas of what she would sound like. So, just give her an old lady voice I guess, do whatever you want, I really don't care.

(Explanatory, doing a big ol' monologue) Pokémon are mysterious and wholly magnificent creatures. They thrive abundantly right here in our midst. In fact, so many Pokémon now grace us with their presence... that we've begun setting up wild zones where they can live comfortably alongside us. These diverse creatures wield many marvelous powers. It's up to all of us to work with them so we can live in harmony. In hopes of strengthening the bonds between people and Pokémon... we're imagining a new future for this city through our urban redevelopment plan. We've now employed our patented holo-tech in all corners of Lumiose... so our interactive guides can teach you more about your surroundings. A city more beautiful than before awaits all of us. We hope you'll bear that in mind and pardon our construction work.
Mable is currently the acting director of Lumiose City's Pokémon Research Lab, formerly headed by Professor Sycamore, who resigned and is currently researching abroad with Trevor, another character from Pokémon X&Y. She was formerly a scientist that worked with Team Flare, but unlike the other scientists who were properly arrested, Mable is on a plea deal and currently works at the research lab while not being able to go anywhere else. Although, some things haven't changed in the 5 years since her involvement in Team Flare, as she still has quite the fiery temper and some passive-aggressive mannerisms.
I've already given a few details on how I want her to sound, passive-aggressive most times, and having loud outbursts with her occasional crash-out. When she's not losing her marbles, she should sound somewhat inquisitive in tone, she is a professor, after all. And, evidently, she should be sassy. I was originally thinking that she should be one of the characters that should explicitly be given a French accent, but on second thought, she'd probably sound equally as good with and without, so I'll leave the accent up to you.

(Curious, then amused) Oh, oh, oh? Looks like we have a visitor. You here on your lonesome? ...Oooh, that's cold, your Pokémon don't even count for anything?
(Guilty at first, before sounding more neutral) Fine. So I used to be part of Team Flare. I don't really mind telling people, if they're merely curious. But there are still people today who react badly if they even hear the words "Team Flare", you know? So I don't exactly walk around advertising it, but I won't lie about it if I'm asked either.
(Utterly enraged, completely losing her mind) That shortsighted NITWIT! That stupid mayor's poured even MORE money into this ridiculous urban redevelopment plan?! Sure, great, more Pokémon! Love it! But you can't just throw 'em in a wild zone and call it a day! No, you've got to have scientists SURVEY and STUDY these things to figure out what's safe!
Emma is currently Lumiose City's head (And seemingly only) detective, operating out of the Looker Bureau, left behind for her by the man it was named after. Similar to Mable, she also used to be in cahoots with Team Flare, but she was only working with them because she lived on the streets and needed a way to get money, instead of being a full-on member like Mable. Her Team Flare work involved testing out an "Expansion Suit", which grants the wearer abilities like superhuman strength, speed, and even shapeshifting. She kept the suit after being taken in by Looker, and only vowed to use it in emergency scenarios. As stated previous, she is now a detective working for the International Police and is currently on the trail of a mysterious man by the name of "L", as well as a Pokémon named Zygarde, which usually accompanies him.
I do have an idea for Emma's voice, but its kinda hard to put it into words, so bear with me here. Like Mable, she should also sound inquisitive and speculative, as she is a detective, and speaking about some more important things with a tinge of suspicion. If it makes any sense, she should also have a "cutesy" voice at times since she has been struck with the :3 curse, though still sounding serious enough to be taken as such and being able to make herself sound like a force to be reckoned with.

(Introductory, warmly) You're a new face. Nice to meet you, Trainer. My name's Emma. I'm a detective who's been entrusted with the task of protecting the peace of Lumiose City.
(Surprised, almost panicking) Whatever you do, don't let that Pokémon out of your sight, Paxton! Based on its cry and your description, I have reason to believe the Pokémon near you is... Zygarde in its 10% Forme!
(Serious, trying to keep her cool) Whatever is going on with Prism Tower, I'll protect the peace of Lumiose. That's the promise I made to Mr. Looker.
Tarragon is the head of Racine Construction, a construction company working on the urban redevelopment plan in cooperation with Quasartico. He's pretty cheerful at times, as evidenced by his demeanor as well as the fact that his company builds "scaffolding obstacle courses" for citizens to just climb on freely. He is also the grandfather of Canari, and is very supportive of her passion for streaming, even going to the point where he takes over for her doing "in-person" events by using a hologram of her to speak on her behalf.
And now, of course, the voice. If you couldn't tell already, he's old! So, that's one thing to go off of. And, again, he should have a pretty cheerful demeanor. I want Tarragon's voice to give the vibes of that goofy grandpa that occasionally gets on your nerves once in a blue moon but is all in all just fun to be around.

(Explanatory, sounding excited near the end) We build scaffolding all the time for our work as part of the urban redevelopment plan, but y'see... who cares about regular scaffolding? No one! That's why at Racine Construction, we make our scaffolding into obstacle courses!
(Cheery, sounding downright cheeky at the grand reveal) I've been using the latest Holo Caster to project a hologram of Canari... Then I synced it up with my movements using another newfangled app. That's right, the hologram of Canari you saw at the Canari Quiz Whiz Contest... IT WAS ME!
(Excited and proud) If it's worth doin', it's worth overdoin'! Excadrill and the team really pulled out all the stops. I think it's fair to say this is our finest, most amazin' scaffolding course yet!
Canari is a live streamer situated in Lumiose, with tons of fans, called the DYN4MO, and also just "Canatics" among themselves, with one of her most devoted being Naveen. She's pretty cheerful and... well, energetic (No duh-namo) on-camera, but she does have a bit of a temper at times, as evidenced whenever she loses... Yeesh. She appears every once in a while throughout the plot, mainly when her and Paxton are forced to fight in the Z-A Royale, and all of the rematches she demands thereafter.
Now, voicing Canari is pretty interesting. As a live streamer, she essentially has two entirely separate personalities, being more excited and electrified on-camera and having a more mellow, relaxed personality off-camera. And, as I said, she has quite the temper when she loses just like any true gamer, so be sure that you'll be able to express that.

(Swearing and cussing in rage after facing defeat. Feel free to have fun with this one, just. No slurs. Please.)
Gwynn is a spooOOooOOky little creature that loves Ghost-types and loves Canari even more, even to the point of being good friends with her personally rather than just being a fan. However, Canari isn't the only big connection that Gwynn has. She is also in the Fist Of Justice, a team led by her brother Ivor, who is certainly a hassle to deal with, with her feeling that she has to constantly keep the man in moderation.
Gwynn is one of the few characters that I do have a very clear idea of what they would sound like. She should give off this mysterious vibe, like she knows more than she lets on. She should also speak pretty slow, light, and "wispy" if that makes sense. She should also sound mostly monotone, yet still expressing a small bit of emotion from time to time (Mostly around Canari).

(Condescending on Ivor) You break every smartphone you touch, Ivor. And once you start battling in the Z-A Royale, you don't stop, even when dawn comes. Your excessive training will go on and on as you climb the ranks of the Royale. Meanwhile, I am the one who deals with all the complaints about your behavior. It is an enormous burden.
(Reassuring Ivor whilst also trying to keep her own cool) Quiet down. Of course I'm alive. Save your concern for Lumiose, not me.
(Lovingly) Oh, Canari... ♥︎
Ivor is... Ivor's just a lot, man. He is the leader of the Fist Of Justice, a group aspiring to abolish the "Wild Zones" that have arisen in Lumiose City as part of the urban redevelopment plan, and let the Pokémon roam freely throughout Lumiose City, while also training up the people there to be ready to handle the wild Pokémon throughout the city when the time comes (Which is never). He is the ultimate himbo. Pure of heart, strong of arm, numb of skull. He can and will punch his way through any physical barrier that dare impede his path. He is a man, who owns FOUR ahoges. Fear him, for he is Ivor.
And now, the voice! Make him sound like Xavier from Xavier: Renegade Angel. I am completely serious. Every time I have read his lines I have done so in Xavier's voice and it made those lines inexplicably funnier. I don't know why, but it does. So please, just do your best impression of Xavier, I need to actually hear what his lines would sound like in that voice. I need this.

(Deep in thought, before ramping up in excitement upon the reveal of his plan) If there is no gimmick or mechanism to open this lock, then it must be opened by a key! But there is no guarantee that said key can even be found in these sewers. Since we cannot obtain the key we need, we must let my honed fist BECOME the key!
(Excited out of his mind, as if his whole life has led up to this moment) One Trainer! One Pokémon! One heart! JUSTIIICE PUUUNCH!!!
Philippe is a man who works with the Rust Syndicate, a group of people known for their absurd loans and forcing people to work for them in order to pay them off. He is essentially the right-hand man of Corbeau, the Syndicate's "boss" as Philippe calls him. Apparently, he used to lead his own small group before meeting Corbeau, who wiped the floor with him, making Philippe more loyal to him.
The type of voice that I want for Philippe shares quite a lot of similarities with the kind of voice I want for Vinnie, since they share a similar archetype. Tough, serious, naturally deep, powerful tone. All essentially the same kind of stuff. The big difference is that Philippe is a lot less "emotional" than Vinnie, if that makes enough sense. Like, Philippe's a lot more strict with how he acts on the job, so he doesn't really let many emotions slip that often.

(Serious, assertive) Thank you for coming by so soon. I can see you're taking matters very seriously. But what a shame to find out that this is the kind of people you are...
(More solemn, explaining his past) He was quite the little upstart. So me and my gang thought he needed to be taught a lesson. Yet young Mr. Corbeau and his partner Venipede gave us the slip at every turn, always one step ahead, until we were forced to admit defeat.
(Affirming) Once you choose your path, there's no turning back. The only way is forward.
Corbeau is the front heel of the Rust Syndicate, and is often referred to as its "boss" by Philippe, much to Corbeau's dismay. His business often involves luring people into absurd loans and having them do his dirty work to pay them off. However, Corbeau's bark is much worse than his bite, as the "work" that he makes people carry out simply benefit Lumiose City and its people and he never actually drags people into shady or illegal stuff. Although, him and his organization still maintain a very sketchy aesthetic despite the unexpected kindness of its actions, and he does otherwise just act like a mafia boss.
I have a decent idea of what I want for Corbeau's voice, especially considering I voiced him myself a little while back, but it's hard for me to exactly put it into words. He should have all the vocal afflictions you would expect to see in your typical mafia boss character, cold, cunning, and calculated. He should also have a little bit of rasp in his voice. Although Corbeau acts serious most of the time, he does still let himself have a little fun here and there, so make sure to have a good enough voice for those more expressive moments.

(Monologuing, looking back on the past) You don't even know his real name, huh? Well, that gentleman's name is Lysandre. He is, or was, a very wealthy and generous businessman. He helped me out when I was a kid. Provided me with support since I had no family to rely on. I...don't know why he did what he did five years ago, or what he's been up to since. But if he's alive, that means I can repay him for everything he's done for me.
(Filling out a name and occupation form, joking to himself) Occupation...? I'll just put down "handyman".
Lebanne is a member of the SBC (Society Of Battle Connoisseurs) and is effectively Miss Jacinthe's Dragon Maid for the time being. She lost a bet to her 2 years back, and wearing a maid outfit and displaying an absurdly calm and cordial demeanor is effectively her form of punishment which she is still stuck with to this day. However, despite the emotional restrictions Jacinthe places on her, she is still more than willing to let loose and reveal her true self once no one's looking. In actuality, Lebanne is much more reckless and ruthless than she is allowed to let on, and is thrilled whenever she finally has a chance to show everyone around her who she truly is.
Sort of similar to Canari, voicing Lebanne is kind of a double-edged sword, as you effectively need to come up with two voices for her. She needs a calm, collected voice for whenever she's forced to speak that way, and she'll also need a much more aggressive, more excited voice whenever she's able to display her true personality. I'm gonna call these two voice tones Lebanne's "Fake Tone" and "Real Tone" in the audition lines to make it easier to know what kind of voice to use.

(Fake Tone, calm and explanatory) My name is Lebanne, and I am here on behalf of the Lumiose Society of Battle Connoisseurs. To that end, I am here to invite you to join us at Hotel Richissime at your earliest convenience.
(Real Tone, excited, pumped up) ...LET'S GO! Looks like I finally get to cut loose in a REAL battle for once! Bring it on! Get ready for a taste of who I used to be before Jacinthe came along!
(Real Tone, more calm, but still sounding ready to go hand-to-hand at a moment's notice) I used to be a fighter back in the day. The kind that only seeks out the toughest opponents. Yeah, I like settling fights with my Pokémon AND my fists. Don't like it? Then don't mess with me.
Jacinthe is the leader of the SBC (Society Of Battle Connoisseurs) and is ridiculously rich. She's able to make a world-renowned high-class hotel into essentially her home turf, keeps all of her Pokémon in expensive Luxury Balls, and is able to afford her own personal, customized holotech, which allows her to project custom holograms and set up special "Jacinthe Zones" separate from the regular wild zones and battle zones of the city. And, there is nothing that she loves more than her tournaments. During the story, she gathers up some of Lumiose City's most notable Trainers, which just so happens to include Paxton, and ropes them into a special tournament which she likes to call "Le Super-Tornoi de Jacinthe". What a mouthful.
Voicing Jacinthe is certainly going to be an interesting experience for anyone who auditions for her. She's incredibly self-centered, so try to reflect that in the voice. She is also alarmingly cheery. She's always displaying an ear-to-ear smile and talking in an enchantingly happy tone, so that's definitely a necessity in the voice. She should also have a PAINFULLY apparent French accent. Like, the most heavy French accent in this whole cast. She literally speaks French phrases from time to time which half the fanbase probably doesn't even understand. She HAS to be French.

(Cheerful and introductory) Bienvenue and hello to one and all! I am Jacinthe, your humble host for this fine event. Allow me to begin by thanking each of you for making the time to attend today's gathering!
(Intriguing and joyous, sounding slightly intimidating near the end) Alors, Team MZ, I must say you seem to be up to something quite intriguing! But know this, I do not take kindly to those who make light of my tournaments.
(Self-centered, crediting herself for all the work which she did not help with at all) Alors, that goes without saying! All thanks to the superstar of Lumiose, Jacinthe! And the rest of you, I suppose.
Griselle is a woman who works for Nouveau Cafe, and is secretly a member of Team Flare Nouveau, a group of former members of Team Flare that mainly only seek redemption for their past actions as part of Team Flare. Griselle founded Team Flare Nouveau and Nouveau Cafe by extension along with Grisham, who both briefly encounter Paxton early in the story, before having a much more important run-in later on as Grisham has been chosen as Paxton's final promotion match in the Z-A Royale.
Griselle certainly has a... fiery personality, so I have a good idea of what I want for her. Griselle is VERY aggressive and hotheaded, and occasionally needs Grisham to douse her flames a little bit. As such, she should have a voice that reflects said aggression. She should also speak at a pretty fast pace in comparison to the rest of the cast, just to add on to the personality she already has.

(Aggravated, ticked off) Grisham, this kid is our ENEMY. They're nothing but an obstacle to all the goals we hope to achieve for Team Flare Nouveau. There's no point in trying to explain everything to someone like this. Let's just get rid of them!
(Pleased, yet still condescending) Look at you, waiting like a good little boy/girl.

This guy also has a pretty distinct personality, so lemme lay down what I want. As far as personality, Grisham is essentially the complete opposite of Griselle. He's calm, collected, and never loses his temper, unlike his coworker. Therefore his voice should also be calm, and should speak very slowly compared to the rest of the cast. He should also have a French accent, if possible.

(Amused at first, before getting more cold and cunning) Well, isn't this entertaining! It looks like you've managed to find your next opponent! The quiet master of Centrico Plaza's famed Nouveau Cafe truck is indeed just a front. The truth is, I'm one of the top-ranked Trainers in the Z-A Royale, the foremost Trainer in Rank B... and the boss of Team Flare Nouveau. Yes, you found me. Grisham at your service.
(Calm, with a tinge of aggravation, sounding downright mad at the reveal) In the end, Lysandre made a truly foolish choice. He chose to use the ultimate weapon. Do you know about the ultimate weapon, which nearly burned the Kalos region off the map? That weapon was AZ's creation!
(Calm, deeply reflecting upon himself) My point is only that my old fixation upon restoring our honor held me captive to the past. And now I am focused wholly on becoming the greatest I can be. A better goal, I rather think.
AZ is... a VERY interesting man. He is 3000 years old, and used to be the king of Kalos several millennia back. He gained both his absurd lifespan and height from the Ultimate Weapon, a machine that he used to end a great Pokémon war as well as bring his partner, Eternal Flower Floette, back to life. However, Floette felt disdain for AZ using the lives of other Pokémon to revive her, and promptly left him. AZ was left to wander for many a millennium, but finally reunited with Floette 5 years prior to the events of Pokémon Legends: Z-A. Nowadays, AZ lives a much more quiet, and uneventful life. He runs a humble, rustic hotel, by the name of Hotel Z, and fosters Team MZ, consisting of Paxton, Taunie, Naveen, and Lida. However, AZ can only remain in the shadow of his past for so long, as his creations will soon come back to haunt him one final time...
So, what do I want for his voice? Well, of course, with him being 3000 years of age, he's old! So his voice should obviously be indicative of his excessive age. He shouldn't sound intimidating or threatening. He should sound warm, welcoming, and cordial, because beneath everything, AZ truly is a kind man at heart. However, he should also have a more serious, solemn tone when he's discussing more important topics, mainly involving his past.

(Warmly, welcoming) People and Pokémon meet when fate dictates it should be so. Paxton. I believe you have been led here because this is where you are meant to be. I am AZ. And as the owner of Hotel Z, I welcome you.
(Solemn, lecturing about his past) In my rage, I remade my device into the ultimate weapon. I put an end to the senseless conflict that would have taken everything from us. By becoming destruction itself. The light fired from the ultimate weapon reached the heavens, then poured down, burning away all that rested upon the earth. But Floette must have known the truth... She must have realized that the life I had given her was stolen from so many other Pokémon. She left me. And I wandered alone for three thousand years.
(Happily, with a feeling of closure) As ever, it is our choices today that shape our tomorrows. I will forever be grateful to you... Team MZ, my dearest friends.
"L", formerly more widely known as Lysandre, is a wanderer in a similar position to how AZ was for the majority of his life. He played a major role in Pokémon X&Y, serving as the game's main villain, who seeked to make the world more beautiful by... "reducing the number of living things". Look, he had his reasons, but I will not lie when I say that they didn't really make sense. However, in Pokémon Legends: Z-A, he plays no such role. He was saved by Zygarde after he fired the Ultimate Weapon, and was blessed (Or perhaps cursed) with the same 3000 year lifespan that AZ has. He works closely with Zygarde, mainly by helping it gather its cells so that it can better protect Lumiose City. The thing about L is that he has no ulterior motives, he does genuinely want to redeem himself and truly make the world a better place. Although, he isn't necessarily seeking acceptance from others, as he knows many of them won't provide it. If there's anyone out there who L needs acceptance from, it's himself.
A lot of the traits that I'm seeking for AZ's voice are also present in my ideal voice for L. Like AZ, his voice should also sound old and aged, although not to the same extent, as while L still has 3000 years ahead of him, he's still only at the start of it. Make him sound like he's going though a mid-life crisis or something, I dunno. His voice should also sound mysterious and ominous at most times, like he's planning something, although he never actually is. But, he should be able to sound more positive when he does actually feel genuine contentment and happiness. There is also a short segment where he speaks as Lysandre, and for that you can feel free to bring out the evil supervillain voice, go wild.

(Cold, mysterious) I am called L. This is Zygarde, a Pokémon that defends the order of all things. Surely you sense it as well, the disturbance that threatens order in Lumiose.
(As Lysandre, cold, monologuing) As the world grows wealthier, the number of Pokémon and people will only continue to grow, and that growth will invite new difficulties. In time, life will fill every corner of the planet, until no more life can be sustained. When there is only one of something, it cannot be shared. When something cannot be shared, it will be fought over. And when something is fought over, some must survive without it.
(Hopeful, reflecting) When people manage to meet, it is a gift. Even living in the same time and place is no guarantee. The fact that we, and so many others, met and banded together to make Lumiose a better place... is something we should treasure.
Zygarde is a Legendary Pokémon who has a constant presence throughout the entire game. Zygarde, although ultimately having good intentions, to merely protect Lumiose City and preserve the order there, is still very mysterious; not a lot of people are aware of its presence and attempting to investigate it has left Detective Emma dumbfounded for some time now. Zygarde is currently working with a man named L, to help gather up its cells and restore its power. It seeks out Paxton a few times, occasionally as test of his skill, by either challenging him directly or by making him help another Pokémon in dire need. It also consistently observes Paxton from afar, to keep an eye on him and study his skill. Although, Zygarde is, of course, a Legendary Pokémon, which are known for being quite reclusive. So, that begs the question, why has it been showing up around such an urban area lately?
Voicing Zygarde is strange, mainly on account of it being a Pokémon and not an actual, human character. However, Zygarde is insanely important to the story, so it can't just not have a voice. You should be able to make somewhat convincing animalistic noises for its "cries" and also be able to speak normally since it will be a role in some covers. Zygarde should sound noble, as it is hailed as the protector of Kalos. It also has three distinct forms, 10%, 50%, and Complete Forme, and I'll just leave whether you want to do separate voices for each form up to you. There is also the fact that Zygarde doesn't have any fully-spoken, English lines in the game, but I have prepared some for the sake of auditioning.

(10% Forme, commending) You have fought well. Take this pebble. Mere trifle it may seem, the state it is as given to you is insignificant. What is truly substantial is what it has the potential to become.
(50% Forme, challenging) You have proven yourself worthy to me once before. Though, I was much weaker then. So, pray tell, even when at half of my full potential, do you think you are ready to stand up to the task?
(Complete Forme, assuring, curious near the end) Rest assured that whenever disarray may strike, I will be there to set all back to order. Though, would you even rest at all? You have stood by my side through thick and thin, have you not?
Eternal Flower Floette, although just seeming like a regular Floette at first glance with the sole distinction of it having a special flower, is a very important Pokémon to the game's story, and one that AZ holds near and dear to his heart. Floette was a dear partner to AZ 3000 years ago, before leaving him behind after learning that the lives of other Pokémon were used to revive it. However, five years prior to the events of Pokémon Legends: Z-A, AZ and Floette reunited, and now spend their days in Hotel Z. At most times, Floette just seems like a happy little Pokémon that likes to hang around the hotel, but is much more powerful than she lets on, having a devastating "Light Of Ruin" move as well as having the capability to Mega Evolve, unlike any other Floette. And, she also seems to be a major piece of one of AZ's many interesting inventions...
Just like with Zygarde, voicing Eternal Flower Floette is kinda tricky. It's basically the same situation, it's only just a Pokémon, but it is still so crucial to the story of the game that it just cannot go without a voice. Again, you should be able to make short, little transcribed noises written in the game's dialogue, but you should also be able to speak normal lines in her voice, as she does have a role in a very important cover. Her voice should sound very cutie patootie, as she is kinda just a small little bean. She should sound like a happy little bundle of joy at most times, but should also be able to display more serious emotions when a situation gets dire. Custom lines have been provided below for the sake of auditioning.

(Scared, struggling) How does Ange even wield such power...? I cannot even control my own moves anymore...
"Ange" is a machine built by AZ to carry out the opposite purpose of the Ultimate Weapon. The Ultimate Weapon was a machine constructed with the intention to take. Ange was a machine constructed with the intention to give. The frame of Lumiose City's famous Prism Tower was constructed around Ange, possibly as a means of hiding it from the people of the Kalos region. It was made so that it could share the gift of unending life with all of Kalos's people, however, it was still a time of peace and it remained that way for the longest time, so Ange never ended up being used and seeing the light of day. ...Until now. During the course of the story, Ange begins to act up within the confines of Prism Tower, and almost completely breaks free on the night after Paxton and Taunie reach Rank A. And when Taunie and Eternal Flower Floette reach Ange's control room, it seizes the opportunity and takes Floette's power for itself, going completely rogue, and in the process, becoming the monster known as Hyperrogue Ange Floette. It does not think. It does not breathe. It does not feel. And yet, it moves.
Voicing the beast that is Ange is probably even harder and more complex than trying to voice characters like Zygarde or Eternal Flower Floette. It doesn't have any lines in the game at all, not even any transcribed noises like the prior examples. However, I still feel that it is important to give Ange a voice for the sake of completion of a very important cover. In case it wasn't already obvious, this character is only going to be a singing role. It is merely the personified voice of a machine gone completely haywire. It should still sound noble, kind of in a similar sense to Zygarde, but it should sound much more intimidating and threatening. It should exude force and power into every word that it speaks, and should sound totally unfaltering in its goal to swiftly deliver the gift of oblivion to anything that dare approaches it. Ansha is a character that features exclusively in Mega Dimension. She is the young daughter of Diantha, the Champion of the Kalos region, and is currently searching for Rayquaza, as a gift for her mother when she comes home from a movie filming elsewhere. She ends up seeking out Team MZ's assistance with this daunting task, and in the process introduces them to Hyperspace Lumiose, a strange, warped version of Lumiose City that seems to be slowly consuming the real one. She ends up also helping Team MZ tackle the threat that Hyperspace Lumiose poses, by making donuts that her partner Pokémon, Hoopa, can eat in order to create a portal leading to Hyperspace Lumiose.
So, what about her voice? Well, Ansha is very young so she should sound as such. She is also almost suspiciously intelligent for her age, considering she's a whole culinary maestro with donuts and also knows the ins and outs of Hyperspace, so her voice should reflect that. She should also have a slight, developing French accent as I can picture her mother Diantha having one, and I wouldn't be surprised if she ended up passing it down.

(Content, monologuing) In the end, I gave dear Mama two gifts. The first was an array of donuts made with all my love. The second was a book telling the story of my adventures with Team MZ. Mama looked so very happy! She even asked me for more donuts by the dozen, along with just as many new chapters of my story. What could I say but yes? My friends in Team MZ and I will have to continue our thrilling exploits!
Hoopa is a Mythical Pokémon that calls the Kalos region home, and features exclusively in Mega Dimension. One is seen very frequently with Ansha, and plays an important role as it is capable of opening portals to Hyperspace Lumiose, where the other characters go frequently.
And we're onto the voice stuff already. Yeah, really not much to go over with Hoopa. They're gonna be a much smaller role, not having any singing or even fully-English segments, instead just voicing out the transcribed noises it makes, but again, it feels important enough to warrant its own voice. It should be noted that Hoopa has two forms, Confined and Unbound, which I want unique voices for, and would prefer to have them done by the same VA. Hoopa Confined should sound pretty silly and downright mischievous, while Hoopa Unbound should sound much deeper, threatening, and malicious. It should also be noted that Hoopa has an entire movie centering around it, Hoopa And The Clash Of Ages, so feel free to use Hoopa's voices in that movie as a reference point here.

Korrina is a returning character from Pokémon X&Y, the prequels to Z-A, and features exclusively in Mega Dimension. She is a prominent figure in the Kalos region, being the Gym Leader of Shalour City in the Kalos League. Moreover, she is also the Mega Evolution Successor, as she descends from a line of powerful Mega Evolution users. She makes her grand return in Mega Dimension after being summoned by Corbeau to help Team MZ against Hyperspace Lumiose, a strange space that seems to be slowly but surely devouring Lumiose City bit by bit. She also effectively becomes a member of Team MZ herself after a little while.
Now, explaining my desired voice for Korrina is EXTREMELY easy, as unlike most other characters here, she already has an official, canonical voice! The voice I want to be used as a reference here is Ryan Bartley's English take on her from Pokémon Masters: EX, whose voice clips you should be able to search up with relative ease. There's not really much I would deviate from Ryan Bartley's take on Korrina, as it perfectly fits her already, being excited and energetic. Although, you could try to make her sound slightly older given the 5 year gap between Pokémon X&Y and Pokémon Legends: Z-A, though not by much, of course.

(Reflecting, calm, but still excited) I'm gonna get to meet, and battle, the very first Pokémon that ever Mega Evolved... It isn't just Ansha's dream that's coming true... Mine is too!
Darkrai is a Mythical Pokémon originating from the Sinnoh region, and features exclusively in Mega Dimension. It is notoriously known for causing the people and Pokémon around it to have nightmares when they fall asleep. Although, Darkrai isn't necessarily evil, as its nature to give people bad dreams is more instinctual than something with actual, malicious intent. It has apparently wandered within the vicinity of Lumiose City some time ago, and has ended up taking in a huge amount of Mega Energy, causing it to go Rogue and end up creating an entire alternate dimension: Hyperspace Lumiose, a trippy, weird version of Lumiose City formed from the collective subconscious of the people living in the real thing. The Hyperspace Lumiose created by Darkrai starts to eat away at the real Lumiose City, and it's up to Team MZ (& Co.) to prevent that from happening and put Darkrai at ease.
And now, the part where I explain how you voice the thing. Darkrai's voice should sound ominous and sinister, but again, not outright malicious. Still spooky enough to strike some fear into you, but not enough to make you feel in immediate danger unless its noticeably getting mad and raising its voice. Darkrai should also have some vocal gravel in its voice, nothing much, that's just what I think it would sound like. Darkrai does also have a Mega Evolution which it will also be singing in, so its voice should sound more sporadic and out of control there. Another thing that should also be noted is that there is an entire Pokemon movie with Darkrai as a major character, being the aptly titled Rise Of Darkrai, which seems to have served as an inspiration for Darkrai's role in Mega Dimension, so feel free to take Darkrai's voice from that movie as inspiration. And, unlike the rest of the Pokémon here, Darkrai DOES actually have spoken, English lines in-game! Though, they're not really full sentences, moreso just short, ominous phrases, so, once again, some custom lines have been provided below for the sake of auditioning.

Rayquaza is a Legendary Pokémon originating from the Hoenn region, and features exclusively in Mega Dimension. It is hailed in Hoenn as an ancient savior for stopping an endless battle between Groudon and Kyogre, and keeping the land and sea in balance. Ansha ends up spotting it, or perhaps a dreamlike replica of it, in Hyperspace Lumiose, and hopes to capture it as a gift for her mother, Diantha. Ansha seeks out Team MZ to help her with this task, and they finally have a showdown at a Hyperspace mirage of Sky Pillar.
Look. I'm sorry. But, I have to come clean. I have been able to think up voices for basically every single character in this cast, and give somewhat clear instructions on how to give them a good voice. However, I cannot, for the life of me, understand, let alone convey, what I want for Rayquaza. I'm sorry. I genuinely have no clue what to do with this thing, and honestly, I need a break. (Challenging, slightly menacing near the end) Oh, you're for real about fighting me, are you? In that case, I see no reason to hold back!
So, yeah. We're gonna need some artists on this project. Artists are mainly going to be making associated artwork for covers as well as some other things which I'll detail better once you get in. This is also the only role in this project which I will be casting multiple people for, as I would feel like the scum of the earth forcing all the work onto one person. As a matter of fact, I already feel like the scum of the earth given the fact that I can't pay you for all of the work you'll do. I occasionally try art here and there, and it takes a lot of effort even to make something that isn't great, so I can't even imagine what it would take to draw something you can actually be proud of.
Anyway, most of the artwork in this dub will have 3 main "sections", the backgrounds, the Pokémon, and the people. Some artwork may even only have one of the latter two, but I do want there to be backgrounds for all of them. You don't have to be good at all of these. It's fine if you only really specialize in one or two, as you can merely collaborate with other artists.
Now, what do I want for an audition? Well, first and foremost, I want to be able to see some of your work, so I'll need you to provide a link to some sort of gallery where I can view your previous work. And, with the "sections" thing, I'll need to know what you're best at (Backgrounds, Pokémon, People), or if you're daring enough to be a jack of all trades.
That's really all I gotta say. Happy auditioning, artists! And, of course, AI art is completely prohibited, and will have your audition completely dismissed at earliest notice.

There is ONE last role for this project that I haven't talked too much about yet. That being, a composer for this one track I want. You see, there is a specific custom song that I want to be made for this dub (A remix of a battle theme) and I'll need someone on this project who can actually compose it.
For an audition, I'll need some link to some previous tracks that you've worked on, so I can see if you're up to the task. Now, this is only one custom song that I need made, so I'll probably only be giving this role to one person, unlike the artists.
That's basically all I have to say. Good luck!
