Project Overview
“The Circus of Catastrophes!” may have been created by a children’s entertainment company, but it was never a show in the traditional sense. Instead, it lived as a traveling attraction — a theatrical experience built to dazzle, inspire, and mystify.
Its first performer joined in August of 1986, following up the entertainments extraordinary announcement. By September 1988, the full cast had assembled: the enigmatic magician, the breathtaking acrobat, the fearless lion tamer, the master of the rings — and the one and only Monochromatic Jester.

A 37-year-old charming, vintage-loving ringmaster who’s got a heart of gold and a short fuse when under stress. Originally from NYC, he balances being the leader of the circus with a tendency to emotionally unravel when overwhelmed. Think of him as a 1950s gentleman who’s one wrong word away from crying. Needs a voice that captures a sweet, classic tone with a hint of tired sophistication. His voice is supposed to sound like C.K Dexter Haven in A Philadelphia Story played by actor Cary Grant.

A 27-year-old caring and motherly acrobat with a heart as big as her leaps. Originally from Orlando, she’s the emotional glue of the circus—but don’t let that fool you, she’s got limits and can crack under pressure. Looking for a warm, soothing voice that can carry both strength and vulnerability. Take Rose Quartz from Steven Universe but a tiny bit deeper and softer as an example with her voice.

A 19-year-old goofy and chaotic jester on stage, but behind the closed curtains, a gentle soul battling depression and physical challenges. His voice should reflect manic energy mixed with the sound of someone slowly ready to snapping or losing their minds. Use BitterGiggle from Gartan of Banban as an example for this voice!

A 19-year-old over-the-top, confident, and a little bit snarky with posh edge. They aren't afraid to cross the line and then own it. Requires a voice that’s sassy, sharp, and a little theatrical with moments of genuine warmth. Use Rayla from The Dragon Prince as an example for this voice.

An 18 year-old Sweet, shy, and socially anxious, Allya is the quiet flower of the circus. She’s got a calming presence but struggles with being in the spotlight. The ideal voice is soft-spoken, gentle, and a little hesitant, with a sprinkle of determination. Use Makoto Niijima from Persona 5 as an example for her voice.

"*Groaned whine* I'm hungry... I overslept this morning and didn't get to eat breakfast or take Sally on the walk I take her on every morning... I didn't get to feed her either, poor girl... I'll have one of my dads go over and feed her before I go on stage, I just hope she's okay... I wonder if Andy still has spare snacks... I'll go lie down on the floor outside of his office, I don't want to go through the whole process of knocking on the door and explaining my situation, that makes me feel rude, or selfish... Or both *shudder*! God I hate this... At least it's carpeted over there... Oh wait they had the carpet removed, it's wood now- uuuuuggggghhh! Why meee!"
