Synopsis

  • A baby chicken from outer space crash-lands on Earth and tells a ragtag bunch of misfits that they are the chosen ones. He then gives them the ability to summon and play instruments, so that they can use the power of music to save the universe from a threat beyond their comprehension.

Themes

  • Although the central plot of this audio drama is a bit grandiose, it will be secondary to character-driven storytelling. Each of its main cast members, and some of its secondary characters, will constantly search inward. Tonally, the story will be a whiplash between a slice-of-life comedy and a surreal cosmic horror. It is heavily inspired by both anime and the works and concepts of H.P. Lovecraft.

Audition Requirements

  1. Clear audio with no room reflections or loud background noise.

  2. Do not slate

  3. More than one take is not required and only encouraged if the take is significantly different.

    1. ABC ABC format is preferred for multiple takes.

This character is a minor role.


Kid Kai is the child version of a major character, Kai Takahashi, featured in multiple flashbacks. 


We are looking for somebody who can imitate the voice of a 8-10 year old boy.


Kid Kai is incredibly competitive and headstrong. He tries very hard to impress his cold father, but usually fails. Kai fears and respects his father, but when pushed to the edge he acts in defiance.


We're looking for someone with range who can perform a dramatic, yet grounded read.

  • I'm sorry, I just wanted... (Starting to choke up) I thought you'd be happy-
