Outbreak Colony (Outbreak Company Abridged Parody)

Outbreak Colony (Outbreak Company Abridged Parody)

Project Overview

Hello there and welcome to Outbreak Colony. This is the casting call for the pilot episode. We appreciate your time and your interest in this project and we hope to see your wonderful audition(s).

Description:

This is the start to an abridged parody series of the show “Outbreak Company”.

A quick summary of the original show: we are introduced to an introvert otaku in Japan (sound familiar?) who takes a test online about otaku culture and aces it. With his incredible high score on said test he is made into the General Manager of “Amutec”. He is transported to another world and given the objective to spread the “Otaku culture” by Amutec, with an unknown ulterior motive. But in our show, this little “otaku” has plans of his own.

For the abridged series, instead of the main character being a Japanese otaku in another world, it will be a British/English man who is rather fond of his country. This man is known to be obsessed with colonizing and taxing “for the good of the British Empire”. With that, you can probably already tell where we’re going with this. If not, the man “Sir Lord Charles Esquire V” is set out to do one thing and one thing only in this new world: tax the ungrateful colonials out of all of their money... That is, if he ever gets to the point of colonizing this new world, especially with all of his ridiculous antics.

We plan to abridge the show from start to finish and would love for you to join us.

P.S.: when auditioning please do not do any takes or auditions being overly comical.

Pitch: Mid to slightly high

Accent: North American or English (Note: please do not do a stereotypical version of either. You could choose one of the accents for your audition, but we’d prefer if you did both)

  • (General confusion) What's a "Charles"? Do you mean a "Dickweed"?

  • (Conversational) I brought you some tea master.

  • ( Sound as if you just remembered something important)

Oh right! I need to go get Brooke and introduce you to him.

Minori is a bit vulgar in the full script

Pitch: Mid

Accent: Standard American speaking voice. Nothing too specific here. All we ask is that you don't do a stereotypical accent.

Details: Minori has a military background, is very formal, rather blunt, straight forward and has little patients for tomfoolery and no tolerance for dipshits.

  • (Formal) Let's start with introductions: I am Private 1st class Minori Koganuma.

  • (Irritated) Are you even listening to me? You aren't, are you?

  • (Sarcastically) I can't imagine an OP with you on it ending badly.

Petralka is quite vulgar in the full script

Pitch: Mid to high; mostly high

Accent: Any

Details: Petralka is the Empress of Eldant and as eloquent as she appears, that’s not actually the case. She is hot headed, stubborn, and rather vulgar when upset/angry… which is most of the time.

  • (Sound enthusiastic and emphasize Japanese)

So you're the new Japanese guy?

  • (Defensive) No one told me you weren't fucking Japanese!

  • (Welcoming) So, dipshit, welcome to Eldant.

Role assigned to: deleted436601

Matoba is a little bit vulgar. Not as much as Minori or Petralka though.

Pitch: Mid to low

Accent: Standard American speaking voice. Nothing too specific here. All we ask is that you don't do a stereotypical accent.

Details: A straight forward man who always manages to have smile on his face. Whether that smile is genuine or not is anyone's guess. He always sounds optimistic, but with a monotone voice. He's like a perky or enthusiastic sales man with an ulterior motive. (Try to sound enthusiastic, while trying to keep something hidden at the same time.)

Note: Without the ring on Charles, Matoba sounds like a Japanese man trying to speak English, but it's rather broken.

  • As you can see, a gateway opened in a location, I cannot disclose, which lead us to another dimension.

  • Ha, nice. I find these terms acceptable.

  • You'll have to excuse him, your majesty.

You see, he's what we call a complete and utter 'dipshit'.

Details: The Chancellor of Eldant is a pacifist who is always there to suppress certain situations with Petralka, when she gets big mad.

  • (Worried and embarrassed) Please Empress. Calm your shit!

  • (Do a take normal take and a take sounding distressed or even a bit sad)

Why has no one introduced me?

  • (Insistent) I don't believe he meant any harm.
