One of the Powerful (Animated Web Series)
Project Overview
Hello everyone, the casting call for the three main characters from my indie semi-animated web series One of the Powerful, are now open!
SYNOPSIS
The two sides of humanity: Powerful, one with magic and Powerless, one with not. Long ago, these two sides were at peace, until conflict lost in the past divided them. Powerful, being despised and cursed, Erin Indipend seeks to change the world’s view on them. Falling into the traps of the past, that will prove that Powerful are not a curse… but a blessing. However, reality is not as simple as a fantasy.
One of the Powerful is a action-packed, superhero, mystery series that contains lots of strong violence, as well as dealing with some heavy topics.
WHAT TO EXPECT
One of the Powerful is a independent semi-animated web series, that is created entirely by myself from the writing, the animating to the editing as a fun, long term passion project, which I would love to have you join me to help bring it to life!
I would prefer to communicate to you through email, as I feel it would be beneficial for communication in general, as well as for sending along resources to help you voice your lines for the episodes, like the script and storyboards to reference once you are cast.
WHAT I ASK OF YOU
- This first round of auditions will close July 30th 2023.
- You must be at least 16 years old to audition.
- Please provide clean, and decent quality audio. No background noise, chatter etc.
- You can audition and potentially be cast for multiple roles.
- Some roles may require you to provide multiple takes for certain lines, so please be on the look out.

Erin is timid, kind and socially awkward who tends to keep to themselves, due to the incident of loosing their childhood friend. After leaving their home town in order to pursue their artistic endeavours, Erin discovers the truth behind their world and strives to help fix it, even if it means loosing themselves along the way.
For Erin's voice, I can imagine it being slightly more lower pitch than referenced in video.
Note: As the series progresses, Erin goes through a negative character arc where they become more cold and monotone. I would appreciate it if you were able to record the last two lines, twice to demonstrate that you are able to adapt to both of variations of this character.

(Amazed) Woah, this place is beautiful Cassidy!
(Nervous) I-I didn't think it would get dark so quickly, I 'm sorry.
(Terrified, furious) H-how did this happen? This-this is all my fault. My FAULT! My fault-- What have I done?!
Cassidy is a sweet over excited, happy girl who is obsessed with fantasy. She tags alongside our main protagonist on a journey away from their home town, wanting to bring as many smiles to peoples faces as she can. Cassidy always acts overly optimistic, trying to see the upside to every situation no matter how dire.

(Thoughtful, excited) Since it was your last day of work before we leave Grain Bush. I thought I could meet you so we can walk home together! like we used to do at school. Surprise!
(Concerned) Are you... oki-ly doki-ly?
(Excited) Secret hide out! Secret hideout! So cool!!
Hoshi is relaxed and over-confident who loves to play the guitar. He isn't afraid to show aggression and intimidation where suited and he isn't the greatest at controlling his emotions. Hoshi strives to find meaning and purpose in his life and so strives to find it no where matter it may be.

(Intimidating, cold) May be the occasion, Powerful?
(overconfident) So why the stars would you stay with me, yeah?
(Furious) What part about "Monsters" didn't you two get!?
Young Erin is the child version of the main protagonist of this web series who appears in flashbacks who recently dealt with the grief and guilt of losing their best friend, so they are very upset and angry during most of these flashbacks in episode 1. Young Erin will be a reoccurring character during the run of this series.

(Upset, angry) But why? She never hurt anybody-- She never hurt ANYBODY!!
(upset) I should have stopped her. I should have! I should have been taken away... n-not her.
Erin's Mother is a very kind, caring and protective figure, who strives to be there for both her husband and child through their troubling times. She will be a reoccurring character during the run of this series.

(Informing) Erin sweetheart, people here are not accepting of your kind
This lady has a very minor role, during the scene she is in, she is very frightened and horrified.

(Terrified, upset) T-that Girl-- That Girl is a POWERFUL!
This character plays a very minor role and appears in one of the protagonist's flashbacks where she is gossiping.

(gossiping) It could have hurt us!
(gossiping, cheeky) Yeah! They never speak to anyone, they are always alone.

(Gossiping, confident) I bet Erin is a Powerful too!
A lady who is Erin's co-worker at a local cafe in Erin's home town Grain Bush. This young woman has very harsh ideals and has a very short temper.

(Aggressive) Are those damn Powerful Arrests on the news again?! Ugh, its all you ever hear about! Where do they come from anyways? Powerful should stay in their own filthy territory where they belong!
(Aggressive) Are you living under a rock? Powerful almost wiped out the entire human existence once! Don't let your naïve nature drive you to a false reality Erin. This is how the world is, and this is how it will remain!
Here is a News Reporter, who appears near the beginning of the first episode of my web series. He has a very minor role, however please do have fun!

Erin's father is an awkward and very anxious man, who tries to stop his child from leaving home for some unknown reason.

(Concerned, upset) Are you sure this is what you really want? We-- I don't want you to regret this decision to leave, that's all.
(Informing) There is nothing you can do, you cannot change the past. The best you can do is move on and act as if nothing ever happened.
