One Abridged Man

Project Overview

Hey there! My name's Ryu. A year ago I made an abridged one-shot for Team Four Star's TIBA competition; it didn't get into the top 30, but I was pleasantly surprised to see that still so many people liked it, despite it's flaws. Now I decided to bite the bullet and make episode 2, and hopefully make more in the future!

If you wish to audition, please follow these guidelines:



1. GOOD audio quality.

2. Not afraid to scream, and not easily offended.

3. MUST BE DEDICATED. If you're casted, please be absolutely certain that you won't drop out half way through production, and please be punctual with lines; if you take too long I may have to recast.

4. If you're casted, please send me your contact info: Skype, Discord, or Email.

5. And be advised, live direction maybe required for certain characters if casted. 

6. Audition for as many roles as you want, and have fun! :)



P.S. If you're casted as a character who only shows up only for this episode, I'll probably find you more roles for future episodes.

  • Thanks once again!

    I just want to thank everyone for auditioning for this project of mine, a lot of you did pretty good, for a while I was struggling to decide who could be casted! And for everyone who was casted, please send me your Discord/Skype/Email addresses so we can get this show on the road. :) P.S. Just a friendly reminder, those who were casted that I may wish live-direct a few of you for specific lines and scenarios, and if anyone takes too long in recording their lines and doesn't explain why, then there might be a possibility of you being uncasted; I'm kinda picky like that. But no pressure! Just give it your all, and it'll be smooth sailing! :)

    I'm so glad so many of you have auditioned for this silly idea of mine, and I thank you all for contributing. As to when I'll have decided on who gets casted, expect results at the end of the week, I need at least that long to re-listen to everyone's audition to fairly judge who'd be best for what role. Genos the Cyborg is an S-rank hero, tasked to monitor Saitama, and try to make sure he doesn't cause any unnecessary destruction. He doesn't emote too much, in fact he can seem quite robotic at times; however, he isn't incapable of emotion, he's just subtle about it most of the time, he's eager to seek revenge against the Cyborg who killed his family, and can vocally express his hostility to those he suspects to be this Cyborg. I was thinking he'd have a medium level voice, and please don't add any effects to your auditions for him.

  • Greetings, Mister Saitama. My name is Genos. I'm here on the behalf of the Hero Association, about the possibility of recruiting you.

  • (Sounding subtly melancholic) My family was murdered by a lone Cyborg, who damaged my body beyond repair. The Doctor took me in, and gave me the body I have today. I loved my family, so I dedicated my life into hunting down this Cyborg. So that one day, we'll fight again. And next time, I will not lose.

  • (A hint of intensity in his voice) Listen well, you've committed many atrocities in your wake. If you wish to receive any form mercy, it'd be best to talk quickly before Mister Saitama looses his patience.

Armed with a short-temper, and a bitchy attitude, the S-rank hero, Tornado is a force to be reckoned with. She has little to no patience with incompetence, and responds with threats and violence, to even her own co-workers; this attitude hasn't award her any friends, but few would ever dare to call her out on her behaviour. Her voice should be high/medium range, and must willing to shout certain lines in an aggressive tone. She doesn't have much lines in this episode, but she will have more as we progress through episodes.

  • (Being really sassy) Hmph. Typical that you morons would screw up this bad. Out of my way. Let me show you how an S-rank hero does things.

  • (Threatening tone) Remember, if you let me down... there isn't a city large enough in the world to hide from me. Just ask Bob from accounting. Just kidding, they never found his body.

  • (Really aggressive) GET OUT THERE, AND DO YOUR JOB, BEFORE I SHOVE THIS BAT UP WHERE THE SUN DON'T SHINE!!

Despite not having any real name currently, Bearded Worker is an over-worked, emotionally exhausted reoccurring, who's responsible for the actions of the B-rank heroes to the C-rank heroes whilst having to deal with co-workers undermining him, and his superiors bullying him; but the one thing that really gets on his nerves, is Saitama's blatant disregard to any order he gives him. For this guy I'm looking for a medium/deep voice, which can convey his exhaustion at his work, but can also switch to a very aggravated tone whenever Saitama disobeys his orders.

  • (Mildly annoyed and tired) Alright, you all know why we're here. Because a certain bald, caped man destroyed another city, leaving us with the paper work... again. God I need a drink. 

  • (Anger slowly rising) Every goddamned day, it's another complaint from the civilians or my bosses, and guess who's the topic of those complaints? And guess who's the unlucky asshole that's forced to find a way to fix these problems? And I remind you, this happens every... day. So forgive me if I'm just a little salty today.

  • (Very aggravated) Saitama, I swear to whatever God exists that if you don't come back here now, and leave this problem to the professionals I will personally find a way to kick your ass!

A mad Scientist, obsessed with evolution, and global domination. At times he tries to act like a James Bond villain, complete with sinister chuckles, and enjoys monologuing about how much a "Genius" he is; however, he easily gets frustrated with his incompetent henchmen, and he can't help but lose his cool demeanour if his plans go south. He shows up in this episode for a bit and one last time next episode in a more prominent role. I'm looking for someone who can be sinisterly subdued, and then have that evolve into sounding sarcasticly annoyed.

  • (Chuckles sinisterly) Number 28, dispatch some agents to deal with this man, who thinks he can best the House of Evolution.

  • (Aggressively sarcastic and sassy) No. Nothing's wrong! Everything's just fine, Number 28! Why I think this bald guy, who just wiped out some of my best agents, is just coming over for a tea party! And not to kill us!   

  • (Calling out orders in panicked and frantic way) Number 52, activate the security turrets; Number 49, to the shield generator; 68, 42, and 35, wake up our secret weapon; 93, ready the escape pods; 31, arm all of the clones; and 17, stop playing with yourself and do something for Christ sake! We're under attack!

Despite being sent out to kill Saitama, Ground Dragon prefers to watch the fights on the sidelines, commentating on what's happening in a loud and over-the-top manner; he's pretty much acting like a stereotypical Wrestling Commentator. This character will only show up in this episode, but he has quite few lengthy lines so be as hammy in your dialogue as you can be.


  • Good god! The bald man just Superman punched the shit out of the champ! There's guts everywhere! On the ground, on the walls, and all over that man's face!

  • I tell ya! Things are getting pretty heated out there! Just look at how intense these fighters are! There's no mercy being displayed here! If this keeps up, there'll be no one left concious for Super Smackdown Sunday!

  • (Starts off commentating as usual but screams in pain at the end) From the looks of things folks, the new bald champ seems to be pretty pissed off at my commentary! My life, may actually be in danger! Let me tell ya how exactly I think that. Y'see AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!

She's arrogant individual. When she's not talking down to people with a mocking tone, she enjoys laughing maniacally, sometimes she does both at the same time. She only shows up in this episode and only for a short segment. For this character, I'm looking for someone who can give this character a British/Cockney accent, but trying different accents for her are allowed, and appreciated. Feel free to be creative!

  • (Chuckle) Is that the best you got?!

  • (Shocked, then angry) What?! Oh you're in for it now!

  • MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! I'm Invincible!
