Oliver and Company 2 - Recast
Project Overview
Oliver and Company 2 is a fan made, non profit continuation of the 1988 Disney animated musical about an orphaned kitten who befriends a gang of street-wise dogs. The production was in development for a few years and is now moving forward in the form of a cleaned up animatic that is set to be released in fall 2022.
We are looking to cast the roles of Oliver, Dodger, Francis, Georgette and Rita as the actors previously cast in these roles have had to step way from the project. All these roles will require some singing. Roles for minor characters will be added once they have all been cast.
When auditioning, please look at the clips I have provided links to. We are looking for impressions of the original actors.

Originally voiced by Joey Lawrence, Oliver is a cute, adventurous Tabby Kitten who lives in Manhattan. He is very trusting and brave while also being vulnerable and naive. There are an estimated 65 lines for this role plus sound effects where the script calls for them. Oliver will also be part of 2 musical numbers (one of which being a solo) so you must be comfortable singing for this role.
We are looking for an imitation that's as close to the original performance as possible.

He is the street-smart and witty leader of Fagin's dog gang who has a hidden soft spot for Oliver. This role has an estimated 40 lines plus sound effects where the script calls for them. Dodger will also be involved in two of the movie's musical numbers so you must be comfortable singing for this role.

Originally voiced by Sheryl Lee Ralph (and Ruth Pointer for her singing voice), Rita is a kind and tough Saluki who lives in Manhattan. She's the most level headed one of the gang and often has to be the lone voice of reason who keeps them all in check. Of all the characters she's the most emotionally mature and can quickly pick up on other's feelings. There are an estimated 20 lines for this role plus sound effects where the script calls for them. Rita is involved in two of the movie's musical numbers so you must be comfortable singing for this role.
It's important this role is continued to be played by a Black Actress.

He is a proud devotee to the works of Shakespeare and often communicates in alliterations. There are an estimated 20 lines for this role plus sound effects where the script calls for them. “Oh, good show, Einstein. Now, all we need is the court and the net"
Originally voiced by Bette Midler, Georgette is a self-obsessed prize-winning pedigree poodle who lives in Manhattan. She's vain, short tempered and has a strong contempt for Oliver.
