O.A.S.I.S. (Object Allure: Seeking Island Secrets)

Project Overview

O.A.S.I.S. starts off as your typical object show with a colorful cast of characters and multiple challenges over the course of episodes, and look, even an isolated island setting! But you can’t help but wonder if there’s more to that island than they’re letting on…

Join Blueberry Waffle (host), Eraser Cap (co-host) and their 12 contestants as their reality show turns into a mystery that unfolds the island’s biggest secrets.

Hi, all! We're aiming for an inclusive cast that consists of POC, LGBTQ+, disabled folks, etc. not only on screen, but also behind the scenes as well! Authenticity in representation is what we strive for when it comes to telling this story!

(By the way, there's a character named Cat Head that doesn't have a voice actor, since they are mute.

About them: Mute, prefers to be alone and isolated. Low self-esteem and often not willing to take risks, unless it pertains to their hobbies and interests, which include poetry, graveyards, doodling, and emo culture. Uses their tail, body gestures, or writes with their feet or mouth to communicate with others. Often misunderstood and outcasted for their distant behavior, but will slowly warm up to others if they trust people enough.)

Also, if there's anyone who has experience with being mute or knows a lot about the subject, then I recommend applying for the Writers role if you want!

Rules

  • Please make sure to read the VA requirements carefully! Also, it's not just about who's voicing it, but it's also about the performance!

  • Also make sure that your mic quality is decent and that there's no background noise if possible.

  • Send your voice files as .mp3 or .wav to make things easier!

  • Make sure you have Discord if you do get chosen for a role! This will help everything flow easier if I ever decide to make a server for this project.

  • Please audition if you are 14+!

  • Reminder that this is an unpaid passion project!

  • The deadline is August 6th, but like I said, I can extend it if anyone needs more time!

  • If you have any questions, please let me know! And remember, have fun and good luck!

  • Other notes: Voice actors, you can do any accent you want, but if possible, try and also do something similar to the voice claim as much as possible! Although I don't mind creative liberties--maybe they'll be better than the intended voice claims, who knows? Also, the humanoid characters next to the object characters are their humanoid forms! :)

  • Also, VAs: your nationality will be your character's nationality as well

    I will get around to assigning Episode 0 roles (hopefully) tomorrow! Episode 0 roles include: BG artists, writers, Blueberry Waffle, Eraser Cap, Hurricane Symbol, Sand Dollar, Rosé Wine and Skulli!

    If you didn’t get in, don’t worry! There will be more opportunities in the future, so keep a look out!

    As for the rest of the roles not featured in Episode 0, do not fret! Their auditions will still be open until around the date that Episode 0 releases (which is unknown as of now), so you will have plenty of time to get a chance!

There isn't a set style for the show's backgrounds at the moment, but as of now, we're looking for something that's lineless and colors that are fun to look at, but not too bright that it makes the eyes bleed. Something cartoony also. Backgrounds similar to ones from media such as BFDI, Inanimate Insanity, Total Drama and Steven Universe can be good for style inspiration.

  • Chill dude who likes to party. He's caring and outgoing with his fellow teammates. A lot of times he may speak before he thinks, but he means well and has good intentions. People usually rely on him for advice and his supportive nature, though occasionally he will get overwhelmed and become unresponsive before being fully able to talk to others again. Pencil shavings will randomly spawn and fill up his body when this happens, resembling his overstimulation. Some see this as him being cold, but that's far from the truth.
