Project Overview
I had this idea for a while now. Back then, I wanted to do an original series that explores Japanese culture. I was still finishing up other projects I was working on at the time, so I wasn't able to do any progress. But in 2020, I really wanted to make this into something much bigger than a series. I've decided to make this into a movie.
STORY: In Japan, Rokurokubi are known to be like Vampires. They're known to be dangerous Yōkais for committing horrible deeds. Except for one. Asumi Mayoko -- Born a Rokurokubi, now lives a normal life with Karita Dere. Karita takes her time to take care of Asumi ever since that mysterious night where Asumi was found inside a trash can. Asumi has her moments where she's feeling worried about how people feel about her as a Rokurokubi.

Asumi Mayako was born as a Rokurokubi because her mother was cursed for committing horrible crimes. At a very young age, she was abandoned by her own mother and was left at Kartia's house. Ever since then, she has been living with Karita Dere for 12 years. Asumi is a cheerful girl who usually likes to do tricks with her stretchy neck. However, she has her moments where she's feeling worried about how people feel about her as a Rokurokubi - so she keeps her neck tricks to Karita. Despite her worries, she still keeps going forward living a normal life.
(Happy) Morning! Look, I've tried to cook furikake with eggs! I've followed every single detail on this list!
(Confident) Ehh, It doesn't look how I wanted to look, but it still tastes pretty good!
(Whispering) Aye, Karita? What if they find out I have a giraffe neck?

Karita Dere is a usual, responsible, tired, bold adult. She's more comfortable working at home and likes to explore the sights in the city of Tokyo. 12 years ago, her life was normal... until she met Asumi. She looked around the city to find her mother but to no avail. With no luck finding her original mother, Karita made a decision to take care of Asumi from now on. Despite Asumi not being her daughter, she still loves her - even if she can get a little too free-spirited.
I gotta visit some weirdo at the 'Smoothie Cafe' today. Apparently, he wanted to tell me something important. I bet it has something to do with the shrimp and scallop coming in late yesterday.
(Tired) Alright Karita, let's see what the next episode of your life is going to be today...
I don't really celebrate it that much because of how much has been going on with my life. But, it's always nice of you to celebrate, Asumi. All of this really means a lot.

Awa Mizu is a Junior high school student and open-minded. She likes to spend time talking to her friends at school and exercise in her free time. Recently, she's been interested in Yokai and spirits - learning about how they're mysterious and dangerous creatures to not mess with. However, when she literally bumped into Asumi, it leads to an unexpected friendship.
After school is finished, I usually like to visit Hibiya Park to get some fresh air. Schoolwork has been really ridiculous today, so I came to take a little jog around the park before heading home.
(Shocked) Are you an Oni? I've never met one before...
(Worried) Will Asumi be okay?

(Quiet) Would you like to hear a joke, sweetheart? If I didn't become a Rokurokubi, you would be a normal girl right now.
(Cheeky) The fear in your eyes... It's satisfying in an odd way. You look adorable. Someone get the camera!
