New Kunlun Vocalized
Project Overview
Hi! I'm Lirkz, one of the handful of people who help to manage the NineSolsCommunity account as well as an active community member and content creator. Inspired by Ccmaci's Hallownest Vocalized, I'm serving as the lead for New Kunlun Vocalized, a project with the goal of voice acting the majority of the game Nine Sols, a Sekiro inspired action-platformer metoirdvania.
The Goal:
Our goal is to voice every line of dialogue in the game as well as some additional pieces of text in English and compile them into a mod for Nine Sols. In Nine Sols, the characters speak the fictional Solarian language, however only in small emotional grunts and audio snippets. Our goal is to bring the game's amazing story to life even more by giving voice to the characters in a language we can understand.
Diverging slightly from its inspirations, Nine Sols has a more straightforward story heavily focused around larger amounts of character dialogue. This means there are a few major characters that are featured heavily and many smaller characters with a handful of lines.
Important info before auditioning below, you are expected to have read, understand, and agree with this information upon auditioning.
Specific explanation:
We are specifically voicing lines in the English language that appear on screen, pre-existing ones as well as any added ones, going along with the original audio snippets rather than replacing. You can see examples of this in the trailer where there's a custom Goumang line during her fight where only the added line is voiced. Please note that while you're not required to be interested in the game itself to participate, character descriptions will include major story spoilers and expect an understanding of that context for the lines.
Every role here is available for audition, however just because a role does not appear here does not mean you can't be cast for it. There are two reasons a role does not appear. The first reason a role does not appear is that the actors for the trailer were given the the option to keep their characters. In this case the role will not be cast on CCC unless a backup is needed. The second reason is that due to the nature of Nine Sols's story, many characters have singular lines that don't warrant an audition, this is true for the majority of minor and crowd roles. In this case, you will be able to be cast for one of these roles by auditioning for another character or the submitting in the general audition even if you're not cast for a major character.
Credit:
I will make a document crediting everyone who contributes to the project as well as what they contributed. On top of this, there will be some method of viewing credits in the game (currently undecided) and I will do what I can to make the voicelines public with proper credit, likely a google drive.
Audition expectations:
Most importantly, audio quality must be good, no mic or background issues. On top of this, with a few exceptions your voice should be similar to the characters' original voices. To help with this, there's descriptions of each of the characters, specific context and notes for all of the lines, and a link to a drive with all the voice snippets of a given character in their audition if one exists, if one doesn't exist then you're free to interpret it how you want. Here's the link for every in game voice file https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1vHclEoDmfIc9r3kkRWUHE3z70swDvfMX.
If there's an issue:
If the project is unable to be completed for a variety of reasons, I will make as much public as possible as outlined in the credit section.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask them in the Nine Sols Anniversary Collab server found here https://discord.gg/XrbJ28EUeq. You can also reach out to me directly on Discord under the user lirkz, but I will only be available to answer questions myself during the start and end of the audition period, as well as a few days in the middle, so the server is a safer bet.
Finally, thank you to all of the Nine Sols Anniversary Collab event mods who helped me with getting this idea off the ground, Literature for making the mod, all the voice actors in the trailer who were great to work with, the voice directors for helping write auditions as well as assisting in my parts of managing the project, the Nine Sols wiki for supplying character images, and Ccmaci for creating the project that serves as inspiration as well as example for many parts of this on top of directly providing advice around the start. Another thank you to people who helped in other ways, Iris for agreeing to help promote the project, catatiel for drawing the amazing thumbnail, and many more who contributed in big or small ways.
When you are logged in, you can comment, add submissions, create projects, upvote, search open roles, and way more. Login here.
Don't know what character to audition for, would rather only play a snmall role, or want to submit a demo? You can do so here! Below are some line suggestions though you arent required to do them.

(Fangshi Guild member when Lear announced the Inaction Declaration) When was this decision made? Why were we not made aware...?
(Jietong, former ruler of Jie, committing suicide after his army lost) I, Jietong... born as a warrior... shall perish... as... a... hero...
(The Feng Twins mom when they were born) Nuwa, Fuxi! Welcome to the most glorious era!
An older man and the canonical founder of Taoism as well as a former fangshi warrior and competent scientist. Due to the time bending properties of Fusang, we see him in these two stages of life throughout the game when entering the limitless realm. When Yi runs into Lear's younger self it's so they can master a new technique together. When Yi runs into Lear's older self, Lear acts as a wise teacher, providing both cryptic insight and help to Yi.
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1SgKSP-v9Slgzs_HNZtK2TxPIQ6k5P0G0
Line Context and Tone:
Line 1: This conversation happens within the limitless realm entered from the secret tomb within the Grotto of Scriptures. Yi has just learned about the corrupt sages and subsequent disbanding of the Fangshi Guild. During this conversation, the final one Lear will have with Yi, Lear tells this story of the Fangshi Guild through the metaphor as a means to ask Yi what he thinks the right option is in his own story. (Old)
Line 2: This mysterious fangshi warrior, later revealed to be Lear, is occasionally come across within the limitless realm attempting to develop a new technique, this is one of those times. As Lear struggles to understand the concepts he's eventually able to come to an epiphany, finally realizing how to execute on his idea, this is what happens here. (Young)
Line 3: After Yi returns to the Four Seaons Pavillion after escaping Jiequan's prison and enters the limitless realm, he meets an older version of Lear for the second time. The first time Yi met Lear, Lear gave him the horn that allows him to travel between root nodes, which got broken in the fight with Jiequan. Upon fixing the horn, Lear also upgrades it which Yi acknowledges as him hiding the function originally. This prompts Lear to respond humbly, though a bit embarrased as he laughs off Yi's comment. The old snake, caught up in the infinite ocean of knowledge, lost his way. The brave tiger, having forgotten their purpose, abused his power. And the beautiful fox, jealous of all the attention and love the dog received, slowly began to harbor wicked thoughts. They had become the new demon menaces, so the demonic dog had no choice but to dispose of his former comrades. However, as he cut them down one after the other... That’s when it dawned on him. This only made him the most powerful demon alive. Do you think he made the right decision, fellow disciple?
The trick is not to predict, but to expose. Your reaction is as important as your timing. Leverage the power, and dissipate the flow. That’s the key!
Hah. You misunderstand. I lost my attachment to scientific exploration years ago. This new feature was born purely out of a need to scratch a mental itch that popped up the moment I gifted you the horn.
Yi's memory of himself as a child throughout the first half of the game as he reminsices about his childhood with his sister, Heng, and later on when he relives the explosion. Being interested in science in an area that demonizes it, Yi has a know-it-all attitude throughout his childhood, though he also has a soft spot for Heng.
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1DnIpnZCPnoDbZUS7ifC1zgmyVgVKoMCO
Line Context and Tone:
Line 1: Flashback of Yi hiding from his parents in a jar where Heng finds him. She gets angry at him for reading a book about talismans because they're considered bad where they live. After responding sarcastically, Yi goes on to explain his opinion on the view of technology there.
Line 2: Flashback of Yi and Heng riding on some sort of moving platform past broken and inactive rhizomatic columns. After explaining what they are to Heng she asks if they're broken, to which Yi responds more seriously before reassuring her.
Line 3: Flashback of Yi working on his Mystic Nymph, still called the Azure Flier, for a school project before it blows up in a later scene. He's trying to figure an issue with it while thinking out loud to Heng. He quickly figures it out and excitedly continues discussing it with heng.

Pah! Don’t believe that nonsense. Ignorant country folk can only understand the world through their prejudices. Science is simply a tool. Whether it’s good or evil rests with the user and how they use it...
Activating them isn’t as easy as flipping a switch... But don't you worry. One day, your big brother will fix them all up.
Hmm... I must’ve gotten a critical value wrong. Perhaps I should connect this pipeline here... There! That's the rhizomatic energy from the Roots! It means the energy is being gathered!
Yi's younger sister, though she didn't take to science in the same way Yi did, she was always curious. Heng was born with the ability to communicate directly with the roots, which she told Yi, though he brushsed it off as her making things up. Heng was closer with their parents due to her sticking closer to their tradition and spiritual beliefs despite often spending time with Yi.
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1Q6dI3GR6lpI2ffuWh9FseVDdLLm4UiWa?usp=sharing
Line Context and Tone:
Line 1: Heng and Yi are on a ride past the broken Rhizomatic Columns where Heng wants to learn about them from Yi. Yi tells her that she should of learned about them in school, to which she responds with this stubbornly.
Line 2: Heng and Yi are talking about the roots, and this is where Heng brings up being able to hear the roots for the first time. Though Yi tells her she's making this up, she poetically explains how she believes the roots work due to her ability to hear them "sing".
Line 3: Heng finds Yi hiding away in a pickling jar reading scientific books. Growing up in a traditional family on Xia, there is a lot of prejudice against science. Heng is telling Yi off for reading the science books but still wants to spend time with him.

Um, I don't really like my classes. I want to hear about it from you, Yi. Your stories are way more interesting than my textbooks!
What my teacher doesn't know... is that all souls and dreams also end up as the food for the Primordial Roots. They emit a song as they devour. I hear their deep melody as I fall asleep each night. They sing about all the stories across this vast expanse.

Chiyou's the game's main shopkeep, trading with YI with the goal of repairing his brother. He is a poet and scholar who has an extreme love for the arts, especially taking interest in Shuanshuan's works. Chiyou often speaks very formally, sounding partially robotic due to his half-mechanical nature as well as being a scholar, however he is more emotional than other robotic characters throughout the game.
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1pOTzLkLPQbYKjFWih7E8UPhe2i3Fcw8h
Line Context and Tone:
Line 1: This conversation is where Yi first meets Chiyou and learns of his unique nature as a weapon-turned scholar. This conversation can happen in a variety of places depending on when you first decide to talk to Chiyou. This is before we learn of Chiyou's motivations to save his brother, where he's first introducing himself as a scholar and trying to make a deal with Yi to repair himself.
Line 2: This conversation happens upon running into Chiyou within the factory, though not necessarily, the player has most likely both already met two sols and Chiyou previously. This is where we learn of Chiyou's wish to save his brother, showing the first bit of his more emotional side with his request to Yi.
Line 3: After Chiyou saves Yi when he passes out after prison, Chiyou moves into the four seasons pavillion, where we get to learn more about him as well as continue to barter. Also, throughout the story, as Yi finds Solarian artifacts he can give them to Shuanshuan, who will use them to learn different skills, including painting. Eventually when Chiyou moves into the four seasons and after Shuanshuan paints a portait of Yi, Yi comes across Chiyou marvelling at Shuanshuan's work. This is where we see Chiyou's scholarly nature, getting excited about these unique paintings.

Judging by your attire, I surmise that you must have been born into wealth. To tell you the truth, my luggage houses an extravagant collection of precious artifacts. If you have Jin to barter, I would be willing to part with a few of my treasures. Peruse at your leisure, sir.
There was once a bridge that connected westwards from here. However, it has now been lifted for unknown reasons. I have recently learned that my brother, whom I have been trying to find for many years, resides somewhere across that bridge. I came here in a great hurry, only to sigh in dismay... My hope is that you will be able to lower the bridge and grant me the opportunity to reunite with my brother.
No, the painter casts a much bolder stroke, signed with the name Shuanyuan! Ah! They resemble the painting you have in your possession! Every stroke a curiosity, every hue a mystery. This is the first time I have laid eyes on such exquisite artwork!
A slovenly and arrogant conspiracy theorist who was shunned for his views. Despite his aggressive demeanor and speech, he has a soft heart and looks out for his village and friends when necessary. His unusual body requires him to consume poison to survive, but he's also able to make wine through the practice. Shennong can occasionally be sick or intoxicated during lines due to the effects of poisons and drunk conversations with Yi though he becomes more respectful and mature depending on the conversation, especially as the game progresses.
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1z5utTqwzoTrfIgR_zKzQuCP22jtmwZFz
Line Context and Tone:
Line 1: Upon Shennong first meeting Yi, he rudely tells Yi to go away, leading to an exchange of insults. At this point, Shennong appears as just an alcoholic with not showing his softer side until later. (The trailer can be used as reference)
Line 2: After being saved by Yi within the Agricultuiral Zone (or eventually finding his own way to the Four Seaons Pavillion) and having his sickness treated with a poison, Shennong makes a deal to use poisons to make medicinal brews for Yi. These medicinal brews are alcoholic and conversations like this come up as they drink together, with both opening up to the other during the conversations.
Line 3: At the end of the game during the Shooting Star ending before the final boss, Shennong has taken on a more mature attitude and is acting as the leader of the Apemen. At the time the Apemen are boarding a ship to escape New Kunlun, with Shennong using Yi and Kuafu to hurry them. Despite his more mature nature, he still does have his strong personality.

What?! And just who do you think you are, ya pint-sized punk?!
I had no parents and no one cared for me... except for the Guru. She taught me how to read and how to be a good person... It was her... Hic! That taught me to challenge everything before me...
Take it easy. You furballs aren’t going anywhere before my people are on board. Especially you, chubby. With you around, the villagers act like a bunch of obedient children. Saves me a whole lot of bother.
The head of Peach Blossom Village and a religious figure preaching worship of the ten Sols. The Shaman, being the village elder, acts as a teacher for the children before Peach Blossom Village is attacked and a leader after the attack. Having seen the actual world around Peach Blossom Village, she refuses to stop in her worship despite the situation.
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1l21QVZuoSLzl6vQqvryLKXxW3-jo0gHZ
Line Context and Tone:
Line 1: The Shaman is teaching the children of Peach Blossom Village the story of their village's founding through a religious lens. Before any attacks on the village, she works to maintain belief in this so as to not incur the wrath of the Solarians.
Line 2: After Yi saves Peach Blossom Village from an attack caused by Jiequan. The Shaman worships Yi as one of the ten Sols while he's making sure there are no enemies left. She seems set in her ways of worship and praise even as Shennong calls her out on it and she peaks to Yi directly.
Line 3: It's implied here that the religious Shaman reinforcing belief in Peach Blossom Village is actually the Guru who taught Shennong to be skeptical in the first place who had decided the religious life with unfortunate sacrifice was better than reality. As she's dying after protecting the villagers, she gives some final words to Shennong to reinforce what she had taught him long ago and convince him to take over as leader.

In the old days, when our ancestors lived in the harsh wilderness, they had to endure the bitter cold and the onslaught of savage predators. Unable to bear watching us humans suffer, the ten merciful Sols descended from the heavens.
Don’t exaggerate! Our village has suffered a temporary setback, that is all. Fear not, everyone. If we pray with sincerity, we will quickly be able to return to our original lives...
...Haah... Is that so... You've grown so much... in the blink of an eye... Everything I taught... Cough! You picked up...
The stereotypical old man of the sols, Yanlao's job is storage, maintaining New Kunlun's warehouse and the "Boundless Repository." He is obsessed with tradition and the safekeeping of artifacts, though not for their own sake but rather to maintain his own status. During his interactions with Yi, he is very annoyed at Yi's disrespect towards him despite his initial attempts to be formal. Throughout the conversations Yanlao begins to break down as Yi calls him out on his hypocricy.
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1u-LsJu-wI3vjfdhibH8LndkUSxCHkoir
Line Context and Tone:
Line 1: Upon Yi reaching and re-activating the warehouse, Yanlao confronts Yi through a screen about his goals and tries to talk him out of his revenge mission. At this point in the game Yi is still unshaken in his mission to kill the nine other sols and return to Penglai, at the most having spared just Kuafu. At the same time, Yanlao still views himself as above Yi due to age, sounding condescending despite it being an attempt to peacefully talk with Yi.
Line 2: After fighting his way through more of the warehouse, Yi once again encounters Yanlao, this time in person. Despite his aggresive wording, Yanlao starts this line talking under his breath, though as he raises his voice it quickly becomes clear he's trying to stall Yi so he can activate Xingtian.
Line 3: After Yi defeats Xingtian, potentially interacts with Ji, and starts to tear through the Boundless Repository, he once again runs into Yanlao on a screen. Yi talks about how the warehouse could be put to better use, which is where this line takes place. Yanlao should be extremely angry for this as his true intentions become clear.

Ahem! Allow me to finish. As I was saying... Given your suffering, your current agitation is hardly surprising. Even so, ponder this with a clear mind. Time cannot be rewound... Your relentless pursuit will only result in destruction, nothing more. Heed my advice. Sometimes, one must learn to forgive and forget—
...Bastard! How are you so fast?! Ahem! What I mean is... you may be motivated, but you're still too impulsive, young man. You must do unto others as you would have them do unto you. When will this senseless cycle of vengeance end... Uh, let’s see... 55%...
How dare you! The greatness of our civilization was accumulated over multiple millennia! What’s the use of protecting a couple more people if we forget who we are? The past is a mirror for understanding the present. We must pass on our legacy and... Uh...
Lady Ethereal is one of the nicer and more softspoken members of the sols. As Yi first meets her in game she seems unaturally blissful and welcoming to him, however, further conversations with Yi have her switching between this confused state and spiraling into insanity as she blames herself for failures of the soulscape system which drove her team, including her lover, to insanity and eventually death. This culminates in her eventually redirecting her anger at herself towards Yi and the rest of the sols.
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1DvZMmUgJCP1hiI2TQYU1p8cziIQYSS3c
Line Context and Tone:
Line 1: The madness caused by her systems' failures and her being forcibly kept alive causes Lady Ethereal enough stress that it seems to also impact her memory. In her blissful state upon entering her zone, she seems to recognize Yi yet can't quite remember who he is. She should sound extremely unfocused and confused yet also uncannily happy.
Line 2: At the turning point of the soulscape, Yi comes across Lady Ethereal again as she starts to break down as she apologizes again and again for causing the loss of her team, directing her anger entirely at herself. She does recognize Yi but this doesn't help at all. The bliss should be gone as she gets more crazy and angrier at herself, literally asking Yi to hit her in the same conversation.
Line 3: After Yi gets kicked out and reenters Lady Ethereal's soulscape, he talks with her one more time before her boss battle begins. Though Lady Ethereal is much more coherent than in her soulscape the first time, she's no less angry and unstable, directing all her anger, justified or not, at Yi. She should no longer sound crazed but rather sad before quickly transitioning to extreme anger.

Wow! Long time no see! That’s right, it’s been so long. You must be... um, who? Are you unhappy? Why the long face?
I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry... I'm sorry. I didn't know it would turn out this way. I didn't do enough. I didn't take good care of everyone...
What is there to talk about? When they went after you, I didn't say a thing. I just watched you die. But that’s also how you treated me... You did nothing to stop this flawed project from going live.
One of the twin sols from the Feng clan, she comes from extreme wealth and loves her brother, Fuxi, more than anything. In their first interation Nuwa talks down to Yi. Later on she makes it clear she's unwilling to acknowledge the state of both the world and her mutated brother, casually brushing off mentions of the ongoing apocalypse and taking advice from her unintelligble half-dead brother.
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/10GY-bO0Uwp3_RrIh6oVzRFjgTACuv3qS
Line Context and Tone:
Line 1: Despite the world falling apart around her during the mutation, Nuwa calls Yi just to taunt him about his taking of the Sol Seals. She continues to sit in her party watching the plays with Fuxi, talking down to Yi throughout the conversation as condescendingly as possible.
Line 2: Yi confronts Nuwa in person, seeing the state of Fuxi for his own eyes as well as the parties she refuses to leave. He once again calls her out on her ignorance, which she once again happily shrugs off here sarcastically.
Line 3: After Yi's fight with the Fengs, despite Fuxi's current state, Nuwa refuses to face reality, rushing to his side after Yi deals the finishing blow. She should sound somewhat crazed and sad as she refuses to acknowledge her brother's death up until the mutant spikes pertruding from his body stab and kill her.

Hah, to be honest, I couldn’t care less about whatever your deal is. But my brother complained that you were disturbing our play.
Well, under these "apocalyptic" conditions, this is exactly what we should be in the mood for. Isn’t it better to choose joy over moping around? If you must know, I think optimism is a talent.
No... No! What have you done! Fuxi! I put so much effort into his makeup!
The most mysterious of the sols, Ji speaks very cryptically, going unrecognized by Yi when he's first introduced. Ji sounds relatively androgynous, with his voice not noticably changing despite switching forms. Throughout the game, on top of his cryptic tone with Yi, he often reminisces about events hundreds of years in the past due to his immortality. He also seems to possess some form of foresight, from which he predicts Yi will be the one to put him to rest after their final encounter.
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/13IozghzdzRZ_VlQV8Wu9iXgv1SdVdKC2
Line Context and Tone:
Line 1: (Small) While exploring the warehouse right before entering the Boundless Repository, Yi stumbles across Ji (though Yi still does not know his identity). Maintaining his usual cryptic tone, he first dismisses Yi mentioning that normal Solarians shouldn't be allowed in the warehouse before marvelling at the contents of the repository.
Line 2: (Small) Same conversation as part 1. Before the line, though he somewhat maintains his cryptic tone, as Ji explains his belief on the inability of antiques to recreate their original beauty in context, he slowly begins to reminisce. He brings up the Parting Missive, the final words of Jietong, the former emperor of the Jie kingdom, who Ji advised for despite Jietong's reputation as a tyrant. The line begins after Yi calls Jietong a tyrant, to which Ji responds with a less mysterious and instead a stronger tone to "correct" Yi before reminiscing about Jietong.
Line 3: (Big) Right before Yi fights Ji, Yi questions him about his motivations and Ji reveals his immortal nature. Upon Yi questioning him further, Ji explains his actions with the following lines in a more despondent tone.
- english
- androgynous
Let’s not fret over such trivialities. Take a look around you. Isn’t it breathtaking? This vast sea of solarian heritage, all stored within the Boundless Repository.
Jietong. The writer’s name is Jietong. As their last king, he was an ambitious sovereign and an outstanding calligrapher. As for him being a tyrant... that is just a matter of opinion. It was centuries ago when he tried to unite the nine kingdoms of Penglai by force. In the end, he was defeated by Lear and his Fangshi Guild.
Staying in Penglai meant eternal loneliness, and I have endured enough loneliness. Besides, I made a promise, however meaningless, to protect this grotto for a friend.
The head of the Tiandao Council and Yi's former mentor, Eigong is a well established scientist and the only Solarian alive other than Yi who actively practices Fangshi combat techniques. Eigong is the main antagonist, rarely appearing to speak until the end of the game, originally through logs progressing through her misguided search for immortality and the events following, including the creation of Tianhuo and subsequent failed cure, as she slowly gets more desperate and eventually insane. When Yi confronts her after hearing these logs, Eigong is fully set on her twisted image of immortality.
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1GPCCAdLChtgrtEJ8OKYIv8ja2_EWXAhJ
Line Context and Tone:
Line 1: Long before the events of the game, Eigong was already an established researcher and member of the Tiandao council. 10 years before these notes were taken, Eigong was pressured to fully devote herself to researching immortality. Though this breakthrough does lead to the creation of Tianhuo, Eigong does not know it yet and takes the notes as if they were a major success for the project.
Line 2: This is a research log from Eigong on New Kunlun, long after her accidental creation of Tianhuo and the following launch of the Eternal Cauldron Project. At this point she's at her most desperate, having entirely given up on normal notetaking procedure after the failure of the Tianhuo cure and the creation of the mutants. Though she has not yet gone insane enough to consider the mutants as anything other than an interesting byproduct of the failed cure.
Line 3: This line is two parts. The first part is as Eigong giving her grand speech about the Tianhuo mutation being the next step for Solarians in a back and forth with Yi during the final confrontation. Following it is a quick retort from Yi directly declaring he will stop Eigong and then the second part. During the second part, Eigong realizes she isn't going to convince Yi and so prepares to fight him seriously, as they did once before in the game's opening cinematic.

After ten years of unrelenting research, we have finally made a critical breakthrough in the synthesis between solarian cells and the Roots’ regeneration cells. This is our first step towards immortality, and a victory for science. This research may even become a turning point and encourage people to embrace science and technology. It may be our greatest accomplishment since Lear passed away.
No, no, no! There has to be an explanation, and I will find the answer. Scientific questions always yield answers. I must’ve missed something crucial. There are solarians in their Soulscapes just waiting for me to save them! All my sacrifices will eventually pay off!
Since the dawn of our race, solarians were but stupid beasts before the whims of fate, endlessly pursuing our own tails. You should celebrate, because we’re about to break out of this cycle, and enter the realm of the immortal. How extremely cruel of you... I hoped that by trapping you in your dreams, I could avoid this confrontation. No mentor can bear to end any of their students’ lives. Don’t make me do it twice.
This audition is actually for two separate things due to the similar voice require and relatively small role size. Both of these roles are technological/robotic voices.
Shanhai 9000 is an assistive robot with a broken language module who assists Yi in locating items in return for map data. It turns out it's using this map data to find its old owner, Chien, who we find at the end of the game has been turned into a mutant by Eigong.
The rest of this roll encompasses general lines said by computers throughout the game where it makes sense.
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1h83jwAX58He5f0h_zZQG7pSSOctbXnd7?usp=sharing
Line Context and Tone:
Line 1: Yi repairs the broken Shanhai 9000, allowing it to talk. The Shanhai attempts to make a deal with Yi here, promising him information on locations in return for map data chips, which the Shnahai can use for its motive of locating Chien.
Line 2: In the Tiandao Research Center after Yi confronts Eigong for the first time, Shanhai can be found near a mutant who is revealed to be Chien, Shanhai's friend. Despite Chien's mutated state and Yi's attempts to stop Shanhai, it would rather stay with Chien in its final moments.
Line 3: A simple computer prompt.

Lady Ethereal's lover and one of the researchers on the Soulscape project. She had faith in Lady Ethereal's soulscape designs, and was one of the test subjects for the newly created Soulscape System. This experiment involved a 30 day hibernation to test ou the functionality and effects the Soulscape system would have on a solarian. Upon awakening her mind shattered and she was driven to insanity. While most of her colleagues resorted to suicide or self harm, she was found weeping while strangling Lady Ethereal. She died shortly after this incident, leaving Lady Ethereal alone with the trauma of her lover's death.
Line Context and Tone:
Line 1: A memory within Lady Ethereal's Soulscape. The first test runs of the Soulscape project are about to commence and Xiaohe is one of the test subjects. Before she goes into her Soulscape, she and Lady Ethereal talk. Xiaohe mentions how she has faith in her lover's designs, and is optimistic that everything will be a success.
Line 2: Within Lady Ethereal's Soulscape in the background rather than a memory. Xiaohe is seen with Lady Ethereal's other colleagues, asking the player to go into the spring with them.

Back when he was still himself, he headed the Feng Clan as a "frivolous but responsible" leader, who took his duties to New Kunlun and his family seriously. Upon the creation of New Kunlun, he used his family's wealth to secure much of the storage space for his family. After being infected with Tianhuo, Fuxi was given Eigong's "treatment" mutating him into the monster seen in game. Instead of speaking he now only makes random noises and extremely garbled words. We can only hear him speak clearly in some soulscape memories.

Line Context and Tone:
Line 1: A memory withing Fuxi's soulscape. He is in a meeting with the other members of the Feng Clan, discussing how they should pursue the future. This is a professional meeting where he is functioning as the head amongst other high ranking Feng Clan members.
Line 2: A memory from within his sister's soulscape. Both Fuxi and Nuwa are riding through the streets within a chariot. The outside view shows the corpses of Solarians who have succumbed to Tianhuo. Nuwa looks on with a look of sadness and grief. However, Fuxi has his arms crossed, looking straight forward.
Line 3: A memory from within his sister's soulscape. Not only do these siblings head the Feng Clan, but they have a fond passion for the arts and acting. Both he and his sister are getting their makeup and costumes on right before the show. He approaches Nuwa, softly looks her in the eyes and admires how beautiful she looks right before the show begins.

With the wealth our family has accumulated for a millennium, we can turn this crisis into an opportunity!
Don't dwell on it. This isn't their fault, and it's definitely not yours.
Beautiful! Just as our clan's lead actress should be!
A Dusk Guardian aboard New Kunlun. In the game, she is the one who discovers that everything about the Tianhuo virus and New Kunlun was a lie. As a result of her "forbidden knowledge," Eigong experimented on her with the Tianhuo virus, turning her into a mutant in order to stop her from blowing the whistle on the council's true intentions. Before she was turned into a mutant, she was able to record an audio message detailing the lies of the council. near the end of the game, the player finds this recording and gets additional info.
Line Context and Tone:
Chien is only heard once within the entire game through her audio recording. All these lines are segments from the same scene.
Line 1: Chien is talking directly to the other Solarians onboard New Kunlun. She reflects about her job as a Dusk Guardian and how crucial they are to ensure the protection of everyone onboard.
Line 2: After reflection, Chien decides to rip the bandaid off and reveal that everything they thought about the Sols, New Kunlun, and the Tianhuo virus was a complete lie. All the hope every passenger had about surviving this pandemic is revealed to be false.
Line 3: To round off the scene, Chien vows that she will save everyone in New Kunlun. One thing to note is that Chien's mother (who abandoned her) is a passenger on new Kunlun.

It is a noble job being a Dusk Guardian. Our eyes are always open and we never sleep. It is through our sacrifice that you can all have a good night's sleep. We take care of the night.
There is no elixir to slow down the disease. The Ascension Palace was a total fiction. The Sols...Eigong... Everything they promised was a lie.
I remember...Mom...Shanhai 9000... Wait for me... I will save everyone... Every last one of us.
