Nichijou No Gaiden

Project Overview

Nichijou (No) Gaiden is an animated webshow/webcomic series created by rustyJS involving the characters from Nichijou and some of the art style of the animated webshow Battle for BFDI.

The current voice actors that are wanted are for Episodes 1 and 2, and when a new character debuts in any new episodes, they'll be up for grabs. This doesn't mean we will be replacing voice actors in every episode, don't worry.

Requirements:

- Please make sure you have Discord for this project, as we want to keep voice actors in contact easily.

- Have a good/decent microphone on hand. Crystal Clear is the best type of audio. If you have a noisy computer that effects your auditions/lines, try using a denoiser effect. For how to actually use that effect, get Audacity (it's cheap as free!)

  • 003 - New actors/Line changes

    If you've noticed by now, you either: A: Have a very good eye B: Will ask "what happened to the lines?" I've decided to change the lines for all the characters, as the old ones were from the old episode 1 script, which... wasn't very good. They have now been updated to the latest version of episode 1, which is a 2 parter, equaling 2 episodes. Regarding actors, new spots are up for a few characters, so go and check those out! The icons you see are the newer version icons and the rest will be added soon (and by soon i mean after like 2 days or something) I'll keep pushing the deadline until ALL characters have been resolved.

  • 002 - Stuff to know, and current progress.

    Sorry for taking so long with the other updates, as there has been plenty of changes to N(N)G over the past few months now. Half a year has passed now, and after moments of silence, it's time to answer what we've been doing. Q: Why is the deadline always pushed back? A: Not enough VAs. Supposedly, when the deadline DOES come, there is a higher chance of auditions. Q: The discord link sends me to a discord named "TEAM GAIDEN". Is this supposed? A: Yes, TEAM GAIDEN is actually the branding used for N(N)G, and soon other shows. Q: Will there be a proper video for the casting call? A: Soon. The idea is to have it like a update video, but explaining it to make it more entertaining to the eyes and not just text over a screen. The video currently shown on the casting call is also a bit dated, as Nox (the music dude) decided to stop doing custom music and use fair use/free use licensed music instead. However, that may change, since I still know a few people who do produce music. Our current plans is to produce a web comic version of the comic first, and once all voice acting spots are fulfilled, we'll slowly/instantly (whatever works better) move to animated instead. This allows our voice actors to have time practicing with character lines to adapt to them better over time. We also have a Google Doc containing all episode scripts, so that our voice actors can get to it anytime they want/need/have to. This allows for once the whole cast is setup, changing from web comic to animated will already have a load of work off of not just us, but them as well. Q: Why does Team Gaiden have a Sparta Remix on the video list? A: I'm planning to move some content types from my channel to the Team Gaiden channel, and add other stuff there as well, such as shows (like NNG and other stuff, possibly), and other material. Mio is probably the most normal out of the three main cast members. She is a very great drawer, her art being akin to manga artists. She is also pretty athletic, although most of her abilities are done through martial arts. Out of the main three, she has the shortest temper and is quick to react to situations that seem difficult. She will often overreact and knock a few people out of pure emotion. She is, however, the most academic out of the three (well, Mai's abilities are uncertain) and will often have to help Yuuko out when it comes to finishing her homework.

  • Notice how Sakurai hasn’t seemed to have told the class to be quiet yet? She hasn’t even said anything at all for that matter.

Nano is a robot caretaker to Hakase Shinonome... Well, Hakase really means professor, but whatever. She is very shy and timid and wants to be a normal... Object. She is a very kind individual and will help out when it calls for it. She is scared of thunder and cockroaches. [She doesn't have a robot voice, don't worry about it.]

Hakase means professor. This is the only name of her that we know, so that shall be what we will refer to her as. Hakase is an eight-year-old genius that still acts her age. She created Nano, her robot caretaker. She is very immature however and loves to eat snacks. She has little self-control, although she will tell you she does. However, she is very nice, just very immature. She isn't exactly snobby, but she may whine to get her way. She is probably the cutest character on the show and will always play around and act silly.

  • Well, I don’t know either, even though I programmed her. Blame neural networks.

  • Kana was here before, but she had to leave for some reason. But, I think she wants to go now!

  • I’m amazed at how Nano hasn’t just broken in half, I mean, she blasted herself through several floors, apparently shot her own eye, falling back down and then finally landing on a table, breaking it in the process.

  • You’re overwhelming her, since she also has school and her own persona to worry about, too, which also explains why she passed out when we found her on a broken desk.

Nakamura is a professor who is currently watching Nano in suspicions of not being exactly normal. She is quick to jump to conclusions and tends to try out very... Convoluted methods to trap Nano and "research" her. Mostly tending to fail. Outside of this, Nakamura is a quiet and reserved individual, kind of thinks herself as above others, and can be a little careless. Far from vain, but a little too caught up her research.

  • I’m going to do that. Anyways, by the looks of it, the best possible option to get you out of the floor and onto the floor is to have something weigh you down, like a block of concrete or a gym weight.

  • Period 4? Isn’t that when I have to do Science?
