Need Animators - ÔRïGïN - Per Task Payment or Percentage Deferred

Project Overview

Looking for reliable 2D animators and illustrators to add to our on-call roster for an independent animated series as we secure per-episode funding. We operate with strict transparency: we WILL NOT assign a task to you until we have the funds to pay you, or until a deferred percentage agreement is contracted.

Compensation & Roles:

  • Illustrator: $15 / Illustration Task (or contracted Deferred Percentage Share per Episode)

  • Animator: $40 / 5-Minute Animated Sequence (or contracted Deferred Percentage Share per Episode)

The Project & Aesthetic: ORIGIN is a heavily stylized series. We are looking for artists who can closely replicate a gritty, 90s/00s anime aesthetic (similar to Studio Trigger, Gainax, or early Toonami broadcasts) blended with Dada-Synth elements. We utilize frame-by-frame animation (10-24 fps depending on the scene). We do not care what software or hardware you use—the project owner utilizes IbisPaint and a Chromebook. We care about your ability to match the style and hit deadlines, not your equipment.

Content Warning: This project tackles mature, psychological themes. The narrative includes heavy subjects such as Infanticide, Trauma Bonding, PTSD, Gore, Manipulative Parenting, Genocide, and Drug Use. Please do not apply if you are uncomfortable illustrating these themes.

Production Guidelines (Please Read Carefully):

This production operates under a strict Authorship model to protect intellectual property. All character designs, storyboards, and scripts are locked in. We are looking for artists who can execute the established vision, not co-writers.

To protect our IP, our onboarding process is strict:

The Art Test: If your portfolio matches our needs, you will be given character sheets to complete a mandatory, unpaid walking animation test to prove style-matching.

The NDA: No scripts, story bibles, or production files will be shared until an NDA is signed and the art test is passed.

To ensure you have read this entire document and understand the workflow, please include the phrase "Dada-Synth" at the very top of your application message. Applications without this phrase, or DMs attempting to bypass this process, will be ignored.

    Hey, Everyone! I need you all to read the project description carefully before submitting.

    Being able to audition properly and follow formatting guidelines is just as important to this casting call as your vocal skills. Because this is a paid project, we operate on a strict deadline system. If directions aren't followed now, it tells me that production due dates might get pushed back later—and we will not disappoint the audience we are building this for.

    Show me you can listen to what the project needs so I know you are ready for the workflow. Please provide auditions that perfectly match the requirements.
