The Flutterby Effect is a fan MLP mini-series set in a world in which many of the beloved characters from the original show have been 'swapped' around! The intent is to portray an interesting and unique world while still making the original characters recognizable (despite the alternate universe.)

She is still quite shy, but because of Princess Luna's influence, she is a little less timid than her canon counterpart - think season 7 Fluttershy versus season 1 Fluttershy.

In my studies, I came across a long-forgotten prophecy foretelling of the return of a terrifying threat: Phantasm Sky. In just a few nights’ time, I fear that she will make her escape, and ponykind will be plunged into turmoil! Assertive, determined, and confident, Ember is Flutterheart's young dragon assistant. She has some trouble expressing her feelings and can sometimes come off as a bit blunt, but means well.

She spends most of her time mixing new potions in her cottage, and has a particular affinity for plants and herbs - which she uses to make new magical concoctions, as she's always been fascinated by magical theory.

The corrupted form of Princess Luna's older sister, Celestia. The darkness in her heart twisted her from a kind and gentle pony into a villain hellbent on destruction, saccharine sweet on the surface but deeply bitter underneath. She is a villain motivated not only by rage, but fear - wild, unpredictable, and paranoid.
Well, well, what a nice surprise this is! I'm back not one minute and there's already a party thrown for my arrival! I can't wait to burn it to the ground!

Princess Luna's elder sister, freed from the corruption that had gripped her heart so fiercely for 1000 years. She is deeply remorseful for the villain that she became, and blames herself despite the corruption being caused by an outside force.
