Project Overview
A MINECRAFT ARG: PROJECT STARCROSS
Project Starcross is a psychological horror Minecraft ARG that follows seven individuals trapped inside a simulation. Stripped of their memories and suffering from amnesia, the group are forced to solve a series of disorienting challenges designed to test how long it takes them to uncover the truth of their reality. Guiding them is an omnipresent, seemingly friendly “Voice.” However as participants get closer to escaping, the Voice begins to glitch and manipulate the environment, turning from a helpful guide into a malicious being. As the pressure continue to rise, the characters must confront not only the fresh psychological scars inflicted by the simulation’s harsh environment, but also memories of who they were before they forgot.
Trust starts to disintegrate as the Voice begins to play favorites, driving certain participants to sabotage the group for its approval.

- Hello! Just a small intro but we are a small team of 2 working to make our first ever Minecraft ARG! We both have been big fans of ARGs and also have been writing for years. We have been talking about writing and creating a ARG for a long time and now we are finally doing it! Here are some other details needed for auditions!
AUDITION REQUIRMENTS:
- Please have a decent/professional mic with little to no background noises! If we like your audition enough we can accept some background noises but we will have to remove it ourselves.
- We accept any sort of format, so just make sure you say all lines provided at least once! You can say them as many times as you want, just make sure to put your format as well as your discord for communication in your description!
- All starts are welcome! Either you’re a beginner or a veteran at the voice acting world we encourage all to audition to please send in all you’ve got!
- There will be info on the characters as well as voice references, please make sure to follow them but you don’t have to sound to the T to the voice references they are just there just in case of anything!
- Payment says deferred as it will completely depend on how well this goes and if we do end up making money from it- so please keep in bare mind you may or may not get paid.
- You are more than welcome to audition for more than one character. Go crazy!
- This will be a long term project with many episodes and lots of time to make sure it’s perfect. So please keep in mind we will need you for long term status.
- You do not need to own Minecraft to audition! You will just be saying your lines and sending them in on deadlines. We will be doing this on bedrock however, so if you do have it and want to be a body double I’d appreciate it a lot if you put it in your description on your audition!
- Any other questions will be answered down in the question bar, we will answer them as fast as we can!

THE VOICE - (Affectionately named Ralph)
Role: Antagonist
Goal: To keep the group from escaping the simulation.
He is meant to come off as friendly from the start. A warm, yet concerningly creepy voice, like it’s more forced than anything. The more the group solves puzzles or learns about the world, the more passive aggressive he becomes, later on becoming straight up aggressive, his voice glitching. Before this, he only ever shows his true colors with the Leader in private. He will show favoritism towards a specific group member throughout episodes, manipulating them and isolating them from the rest of the group.

[PASSIVE AGGRESSIVE, OVER IT] No no, my child. That is completely wrong. Please step away from it and look at it at a different angle. [Sigh, basically over it] Perhaps your tiny brain needs to see it in another view, how about this? Do you understand it now?
[AGGRESSIVE, YELL IN PLACES YOU SEE FIT, GLITCH EFFECTS ARE ENCOURAGED] Lou, oh my Lou. Have you learned nothing? I gave you a choice and you disobeyed by speaking such vile things about me. At what point do you think you’ll finally just, give up? To end this misery approval you seek so much from me? It’s pathetic. Every part of you, is pathetic and useless. You think you can save everyone, [laughs] but you can’t even save yourself little Lou. So what are you gonna do now? Do you want that choice again? Must I say it, over and over again to you or will you finally open your ears for once you child. Man up, and get the job done, or I’ll do it for you…and you wouldn’t want that, would you?

CLEMENTINE
Role: Youngest member of the group
Goal: To prove herself to the other members that she’s strong and capable of doing things, despite them all babying her.
She is an optimistic spirit, who has a naive but cheery outlook on their situation. When she sets her mind on something she becomes very stubborn, it is a very charming yet sometimes annoying trait. The group tends to be very protective of her since she’s the youngest, and that causes a lot of internal turmoil for her. She feels as if they see her as a weak link, so this drives her to take on tasks to prove to them that she’s strong and has more to offer outside of being the innocent child they see her as. She’s scared to fail, and if she does then she’s no more than the weakest link, holding everyone back from figuring out what’s happening.

[OPTIMISTIC AND EXCITED] Hey guys! I know everything is hard right now, but I know for a fact we got this! I believe in us cause I know we can make it through anything, even when it gets tough. So don’t give up, and keep pushing forward!
[DETERMINED, FOCUSED THEN EXCITED] This has to work. It needs to work. To show everyone else I’m capable of doing something right. I can do this…I know I can do this [breath inhale and out] ok…if the puzzle involves some sort of, picture or… ideology, then that must mean…[beat] oh my god. I got it, I got it!
[EMOTIONAL, ANNOYED] [Sighs annoyingly] Can you guys just stop? The way you treat me, the way you just…force me to stand around and do nothing because you don’t think I’m capable or that I’m too weak to do anything makes me feel…god, like I’m 5 years old! I’m not! I’m fifteen, fifteen and you treat me like I’m some baby who can’t hold herself up. [On the verge of tears] I try and try over and over again to prove myself, yet anytime I do succeed in a task it’s like I barely get anything from you guys. Like it’s small compared to everything else. Well guess what? I’m not stupid, I’m not a child, so stop treating me like one!

MALACHI
Role - Troublemaker, Second youngest and Lou’s younger brother (Though he doesn’t know this due to the amnesia aspect)
Goal - No goal at the moment, he sees no point in the tasks or listening to the voice (He is content to act how he is now, until later on)
He is a notorious troublemaker, he likes to goof around and not listen to rules. He is very rebellious in nature, often ignoring Lou’s demands and doing the opposite of what the voice tells him to. If someone’s are easy buttons to push, he will push them just for the fun of it. He finds Lou’s nagging and unrelenting frustration towards him weird, he thinks the man is too obsessed with how he acts, like he’s something to force into submission.

WILLOW
Role - Co-leader of the group, the one everyone runs to when things get tough
Goal - To keep the group together and be there for everyone
She is very chill and relaxed, and gets along with everyone within the group. She is the glue that keeps them together, everyone always comes to her for something, whether it be advice or something minuscule, she is always willing to help. Despite this she is a very reserved person, finding it better to keep her feelings to herself. She rather focus on how others feeling than confront her own demons, this bottling up leads to her experiencing harsh nightmares that leave her shaken.

[CALM, REASSURING] Hey, come on. Stop treating him like that Lou. I get everyone’s upset, and I get sometimes Malachi can goof off but it doesn’t mean we should try to separate ourselves. We all need each other. We need eachother for these tasks, to get them done and solve them. We can’t argue and let ourselves slip because of one stupid mistake. Ok? So can we please just…stop fighting? We need each other. We need you Lou, and we need you Malachi. Even if you don’t want to be apart of it.
[SCARED, UPSET] [on the verge of tears] All I can see if their faces, I don’t know what’s happening to me. Everytime I close my eyes, I see people I don’t know, or maybe people I don’t remember and I just…hear their screams. My name being shouted over and over again like they’re trying to get to me, or trying to hurt me or…I don’t know. I don’t know what’s happening anymore. I’m so scared, but I can’t just, say that. I can’t be a burden on everyone’s plate and…I don’t even know if anyone will trust me. Trust my words, trust my dreams. I’m just so tired. I just…I just want to sleep without the fear that I’m gonna be hunted, and never wake up again.

Role - Protector, older brother figure
Goal - To make sure everyone makes it out safe
He is a very charming individual, with bravery that cannot be rivaled. He can come across as quite impulsive, ready to throw himself head first into any situation, but he also has a bit of an awkward side. He is athletic, and tends to be very protective of the other members since he is one of the oldest. He likes to take care of others, making him and Willow quite the duo as they look out for the others in the group. His relationship with Lou is a bit confusing, he tries to get their leader to be open, letting Lou know that he can be a shoulder to lean on, he always seem to reach a stalemate…But he’s been making progress, possibly.

Role - The one who figures it all out, Smart one
Goal - To figure out what the voice and Lou are planning
They are the smartest of the group, well book smart. They’re quick to figure things out, which leaves their relationship with Lou kinda rocky, as he doesn’t seem to appreciate when they undermine their authority and talk back to the voice. They don’t approve of Lou’s behavior, concerned about how he acts with Malachi and tends to try to keep them separate, which leads to them and Malachi developing a close bond, as they share similar qualities and feelings about the voice and Lou. They’re the one who plans to expose Lou and the voice’s schemes to the group.

Additional voices needed for recordings outside of the realm of the starcross program. These will be used in interviews, background things, as well as employee modules that are like analog horror explaining the company and the starcross project. Multiple people will be casted for this, however make sure to put what your auditioning for as the company works and employee module voice are very different and the module voice only needs one person.
