Mega Man Zero VA Casting

Zero is a legendary Reploid warrior and the protagonist of the Mega Man Zero series. Once a feared Maverick Hunter, he awakens in a dystopian future where humans and Reploids are oppressed by Neo Arcadia. Despite his past as a ruthless warrior, Zero is a calm, stoic, and highly skilled fighter who carries a deep sense of duty and responsibility. He is fiercely independent, rarely showing emotions openly, but his actions reveal his loyalty and strong moral compass.

Throughout the series, Zero is a symbol of resistance, standing against injustice with unwavering determination. Though he rarely speaks more than necessary, his words carry weight. He values his allies but often prefers to fight alone, burdened by his past. Despite this, he is deeply compassionate beneath his hardened exterior.

-Zero isn’t overly robotic—his voice should sound natural, not monotone.

Ciel is a brilliant yet compassionate scientist and the leader of the Resistance against Neo Arcadia. Despite her young age, she is incredibly intelligent, having developed numerous advanced technologies, including Cyber-elves and the energy system that once sustained Neo Arcadia. However, her true strength lies in her unwavering kindness and determination. She carries the burden of leading the Resistance while constantly searching for a way to create a world where humans and Reploids can coexist peacefully.

Ciel deeply admires Zero, seeing him as both a protector and a beacon of hope for the Resistance. Though she is not a fighter, she refuses to back down, always striving to find solutions without unnecessary violence. She is soft-spoken but courageous, willing to risk everything for her ideals. At times, she struggles with self-doubt, but her resolve never wavers when it comes to protecting those she cares about.

Copy X is a perfect replica of the original X, created to rule Neo Arcadia in his absence. However, unlike the compassionate and wise original, Copy X is a misguided tyrant who believes absolute control is the only path to peace. Though he sees himself as a just and righteous ruler, his rigid, authoritarian mindset and lack of true understanding lead him to oppress Reploids in the name of order.

He is arrogant, self-righteous, and deeply insecure—despite his immense power, he constantly seeks validation, unable to accept that he is inferior to the real X. When confronted, his calm and calculated demeanor can quickly unravel, revealing an unstable and desperate need to prove himself.

Dr. Weil is the ultimate manipulator, a twisted and sadistic scientist who views himself as superior to all life—both human and Reploid. Once a brilliant scientist, his actions led to catastrophic consequences, resulting in his exile from Neo Arcadia. However, Weil does not see himself as a villain. In his mind, he is a visionary, someone who enforces "justice" in a way no one else dares to.

Weil doesn’t just crave power—he relishes in control, cruelty, and suffering. He is a masterful puppet master, engineering conflicts to serve his own ends, and he speaks with an unwavering confidence that makes it clear: he believes he is always in control. Weil rarely raises his voice; he doesn't need to. His calm, almost mockingly polite tone makes his words even more menacing. When he does show anger, it’s a controlled, icy fury rather than uncontrolled rage.

Neige is a passionate and determined journalist who fights to expose the truth in a world dominated by lies and oppression. She is one of the few humans who openly criticizes Neo Arcadia, using her reporting to shed light on the struggles of Reploids and the corruption of those in power. Unlike many others, she sees Reploids as equals and refuses to let fear silence her.

Though brave and outspoken, Neige is not a warrior—she is vulnerable and often caught in situations beyond her control. Despite this, she never backs down from speaking her mind, even when faced with danger. Her connection with Craft adds emotional depth to her character, as she tries to reach out to the man he once was, hoping to pull him away from the destructive path he has chosen.

Extra Notes - 

-Neige’s voice should contrast with Ciel’s—where Ciel is more soft-spoken and scientific, Neige is more direct and outspoken.

-She should never sound weak or helpless, even in moments of distress. She is always fighting for what she believes in.

Harpuia is the leader of the Four Guardians and a key enforcer of Neo Arcadia’s rule. His loyalty to Neo Arcadia is unwavering, and he sees himself as a protector of its ideals. Having been created to serve Neo Arcadia’s vision of order, he is intensely dedicated to ensuring that the government’s oppressive control over Reploids and humans is maintained. Harpuia is a warrior who values strength, discipline, and structure, believing that the only way to maintain peace is through total control.

Though Harpuia often presents himself as cold and unwavering, he is not without inner turmoil. As he grows, his sense of responsibility begins to clash with the harsh realities of his actions. While his loyalty to Neo Arcadia remains strong, he becomes increasingly aware of the suffering and oppression caused by his duty. This realization creates a deep internal conflict—his stoic, prideful exterior begins to crack as he grapples with the consequences of his actions. Though he still carries out his mission, there is an underlying tension within him as he questions his role and what it means to truly fight for a cause.

Leviathan is one of the Four Guardians of Neo Arcadia and is known for her playful, sadistic, and mischievous nature. Unlike some of her more serious counterparts, she doesn’t approach her role with a sense of duty or idealism—she finds enjoyment in the chaos and challenges that come with being a Guardian. She’s easily bored and often seeks thrills, with one of her favorite pastimes being the destruction of Resistance soldiers. She enjoys the feeling of power and control, and her sadistic tendencies are highlighted in her enjoyment of battle, especially when it involves Zero.

Though deeply loyal to Neo Arcadia and X, Leviathan doesn’t exactly share the same blind devotion as the other Guardians. Her loyalty is more about her own desires for excitement and power rather than an unwavering belief in the cause. She thrives on the thrill of battle and often acts out of boredom or a desire to prove her own strength. She is confident and self-assured, often challenging her opponents and taking offense when she feels she’s been underestimated or overlooked.

Leviathan’s obsession with Zero only grows as they battle. She relishes the idea of being defeated by someone stronger than herself and sees it as a way to push herself further. While her sadistic side is evident, there’s an underlying respect for strength, particularly when it comes to Zero, whom she acknowledges as someone who has the power to push her limits.

Fefnir is one of the Four Guardians of Neo Arcadia, a battle-hardened warrior who thrives in combat. He has a deep love for battle, and the more intense the fight, the more he enjoys it. However, Fefnir is not a mindless fighter—he has a sense of honor that drives him to seek clean, one-on-one duels, particularly with Zero, whom he sees as both a rival and a worthy adversary. Fefnir is proud of his position in Neo Arcadia and views the world under Master X’s rule as a peaceful utopia, despite the violent methods he employs to maintain it.

While Fefnir is unquestionably loyal to X and his vision of Neo Arcadia, his loyalty is tempered with a sense of personal pride, which sometimes leads to arrogance. He’s willing to do what’s necessary for Neo Arcadia’s sake, but he’s also not afraid to voice his opinions—especially when he believes his skills or his position should be respected. Fefnir has a rivalry with both Zero and Harpuia, as he both envies Zero’s connection to X and mocks Harpuia’s failures in battle. Despite this, he values honor above all else and is willing to put aside his pride when it comes to fulfilling his duty.

Phantom iis defined by his unwavering loyalty to "Master X" and Neo Arcadia, going to the extreme of sacrificing his own life to serve the greater cause. His commitment, while admirable in its own way, is deeply rooted in a flawed and ultimately misguided vision of order and peace. Phantom is ruthless when it comes to eliminating any threat to Neo Arcadia, showing no mercy for those who oppose the system, including the Resistance and traitors alike.

Despite his cold and calculating demeanor, Phantom is not without depth. He is a disciplined individual, with a calm and quiet presence that commands respect from his subordinates, such as Tech Kraken. He has a sharp mind, able to recognize the strength in others—even those he considers enemies—such as Zero.

Tone: Phantom’s voice should be calm, disciplined, and authoritative. His tone carries the weight of years of service to Neo Arcadia, and it should reflect his loyalty to X. Keep it cold, and calculated.

Delivery: Phantom’s delivery is controlled, maintaining a quiet intensity. He should speak with precision and a sense of order, as if every word he utters has purpose. When expressing his loyalty, his voice should remain unwavering.

Emotion: There’s a coldness to Phantom’s voice, especially when he speaks of his unwavering devotion to Neo Arcadia. However, there are moments where slight hints of frustration, sorrow, or uncertainty may slip through, particularly when he’s faced with Zero’s strength.

Elpizo is a character whose personality evolves dramatically over the course of his arc. Initially, he is an ambitious and determined Reploid with an inflated sense of self-importance. He believes himself to be a heroic avenger, driven by a deep-seated desire for revenge against Neo Arcadia, stemming from his past persecution. His ambitions push him to assume leadership of the Resistance, and although he feels awkward at first, his sense of grandiosity grows, as he begins to view himself as special and invincible. Eventually, he leads a full-on assault into Neo Arcadia. The plan fails, which shatters his ego. From there, he seeks out the baby elves, in order to use their power to awaken the Dark Elf, thus becoming the game's main antagonist.

Tone: Elpizo’s tone should reflect his grandiose self-image and confidence, at least in his earlier appearances. His voice is loud, assertive, and filled with energy, carrying an air of superiority and arrogance. As his character unravels, however, his tone should shift slightly, revealing a more unstable and desperate side. In moments of frustration or vulnerability, his tone can crack, showing his internal breakdown.

Delivery: Elpizo’s delivery is dramatic, with a flair for the theatrical. He speaks quickly and passionately, especially when talking about his ideals, his vision for Reploids, or his desire for revenge. His delivery should convey that he believes every word he says is monumental, and he expects to be heard and understood. When his ideals begin to crumble, his speech may become erratic or frantic, showing his descent into obsession and madness.

Emotion: Elpizo’s voice is filled with self-importance and arrogance in the beginning, but as his sense of self-worth deteriorates, his voice should reveal a raw desperation and anxiety. He feels betrayed, overlooked, and, ultimately, powerless in the face of his failure. This conflict between his lofty self-image and his growing realization of inadequacy should color his voice, adding layers of insecurity and narcissism as he spirals downward.

-In his earlier moments, Elpizo’s voice should convey his belief in his own greatness, his view of himself as a special, heroic figure. He speaks with an elevated tone, as if everything he says is a declaration of his destiny. His delivery is bold and even boastful at times.

-As his plans begin to fall apart, his voice should show signs of distress. He might speak faster in moments of panic, or his tone could fluctuate between anger and self-doubt. -I've always had the headcanon that he has a sort of ''posh'' accent. You can play around with something like that if you'd like!

Ciel's Cyber-Elf companion ''Passy.'' She's only around for the opening cutscene of the game, and assists Ciel in awakening Zero. While there aren't any references for her voice that I could find, try and emulate something akin to a young child since she's a sort of ''fairy'' creature.

The Dark Elf, originally reffered to as the ''Mother Elf.'' She's the first Cyber-Elf, and was created in order to eliminate the Maverick virus. Though successful, she's since been used by Dr. Weil in his plots for world domination, hence her corruption. She doesn't have many lines, though she should carry an almost ''ethereal'' air to her voice. Something angelic, or goddess-like.

The ''children'' of the Dark Elf. Named ''Crea'' and ''Prea'' they were created by Weil to further perpetuate and spread the Dark Elf's power. Since they ARE children, they should sound like... well, a child. A female child is preffered, as it seems that that was what they were going for in the game.

Cerveau is a skilled Reploid engineer who plays an essential but quieter role in the Resistance. As the creator and fixer of weapons and equipment, his technical expertise is crucial to the efforts of Zero and the entire Resistance. He is deeply dedicated to his work and his colleagues, particularly Ciel and Zero, whom he cares for deeply.

Though he is not directly involved in combat, his contributions to the Resistance’s efforts are indispensable. Cerveau’s role in assisting Ciel with her research into Cyber-elves and the Ciel System is vital for advancing the Resistance’s goals, and he is portrayed as highly intelligent, meticulous, and dependable.

Tone: Cerveau’s voice should be soft-spoken, warm, and slightly reserved. He should sound like someone who spends most of his time deep in thought, analyzing problems and finding solutions. His tone carries a natural kindnes.
Delivery: Gentle, thoughtful, and patient. Cerveau speaks with a measured cadence, as if he carefully considers his words before speaking. His voice should never be forceful or commanding—he's not a fighter, but rather a support figure.

There aren't any vocal references that I can find, but I'd imagine a deeper voice for him like that of a middle-aged adult.

One of the many Reploids that escaped Neo Arcadia and joined the Resistance to escape Copy X's tyrrany. She treats Ciel like a sister.

Tone: Alouette’s voice should be bright, youthful, and full of curiosity. She has a soft, innocent tone that reflects her childlike wonder.
Delivery: Cheerful and enthusiastic, but with a gentle and somewhat shy quality. She speaks with the eagerness of someone who looks up to those around her, especially Ciel.

Soldiers that managed to escape the iron-fist ruling of Neo Arcadia. This role will be filled by multiple people! Most of the soldiers are male, but there are a few female soldiers as well.

Mino Magnus is a massive, slow-witted, but physically formidable Reploid. Originally a worker in Mass Driver transportation, his immense strength was both his greatest asset and his greatest weakness—his energy consumption was so high that he constantly risked running out of power. Promised an unlimited energy supply, he willingly joined Dr. Weil's forces as one of the Einherjar. Despite his intimidating size, Mino Magnus is more of a lumbering brute than a cunning warrior. His slow thought process and speech make him seem almost dopey, and his inability to finish his own sentences often leads to others speaking for him. However, his sheer physical power makes him a legitimate threat on the battlefield.

In combat, Magnus is straightforward and relies on raw strength rather than strategy. He is easily confused and flustered, sometimes forgetting what he was saying mid-sentence. Despite his dull mind, he is fiercely loyal to the cause, truly believing in Ragnarok’s destruction, even if he doesn’t fully understand the complexities behind it.

Tone: Deep, rumbling, and slow—his voice should have a heavy, lumbering quality to match his massive frame. He sounds like a gentle giant trying to be menacing but lacking the intellect to be truly threatening.

Delivery: Painfully slow and drawn-out, with long pauses between words as if it takes effort for him to process each thought. His speech should occasionally trail off, showing his forgetfulness and lack of focus. When frustrated, his voice may become slightly louder but never particularly fast.

Tech Kraken is a vengeful and calculating warrior, once a high-ranking member of the Cutting Shadow Squadron, a covert operations unit that answered directly to Hidden Phantom. Tasked with eliminating traitors within Neo Arcadia, he was ruthless and efficient—until Phantom fell at the hands of Zero. Following his master’s death, Kraken vanished, only to resurface as one of the Eight Einherjar, seemingly allied with Weil but driven solely by a personal vendetta. He cares little for the larger goals of Operation Ragnarok, seeing it as merely a means to an end: the chance to exact revenge on Zero and restore Phantom’s honor.

Unlike some of the other Einherjar, Tech Kraken is neither mindless nor deluded. He is intelligent, pragmatic, and fiercely loyal to the ideals of his fallen master. He holds himself with a degree of discipline, but his rage simmers beneath the surface, directed entirely at Zero. Even his tactics reflect his single-minded determination—he pilots a massive drill submarine packed with explosives, ready to sacrifice himself to see his mission through.

Tone: Sharp, focused, and seething with barely restrained anger. His voice should carry a sense of cold professionalism, but when his fury surfaces, it should feel cutting and intense.

Delivery: Quick, precise, and slightly aggressive—he speaks with the efficiency of a trained assassin. When angry, his voice should rise into a harsh growl, but he never fully loses control. His words are deliberate, with a biting edge that makes it clear he sees Zero as nothing more than the target of his revenge.

Pegasolta Eclair is a narcissistic and flamboyant warrior, obsessed with beauty—both his own and that of destruction. Originally tasked with overseeing the Hanging Gardens for peaceful purposes, he always harbored a secret longing for battle. When Dr. Weil took over Neo Arcadia, he saw the vanity and ambition in Pegasolta and twisted it to his advantage, redesigning him for combat and unleashing him as one of the Eight Einherjar.

Now, Pegasolta revels in chaos, seeing Operation Ragnarok as a masterpiece of destruction, a grand display of power and control. He looks down upon humanity with sheer disdain, believing them unworthy of existence under Weil’s rule. His arrogance knows no bounds, convinced of his own perfection and superiority. He taunts Zero with poetic declarations, basking in his own self-importance until his inevitable downfall. Even as he dies, he is unable to comprehend how someone as “flawless” as himself could be bested.

Tone: Arrogant, theatrical, and dripping with self-admiration. He speaks with an air of nobility, as though every word he utters is a divine proclamation.

Delivery: Grandiose and poetic, with an almost sing-song quality to his speech. He elongates words when speaking about himself or anything he finds beautiful, while snapping with venom when referring to those he deems “ugly” or “unworthy.”

Sol Titanion is a fire-loving, thrill-seeking maniac with an obsession for destruction. Once a caretaker of the Artificial Sun, her purpose was meant to control the weather for the benefit of others. But when Dr. Weil’s forces exterminated her counterpart and left her without direction, she snapped—burning her attackers to ash and embracing a new purpose: pure, unfiltered chaos.

Now, Titanion fights not for duty or vengeance, but for fun. She relishes the sight of others suffering, thriving on the thrill of battle and destruction. With an almost playful cruelty, she delights in the idea of reducing Area Zero to a scorched wasteland, laughing as her flames consume everything in sight. Unlike some of her Einherjar comrades, she doesn’t have any deeper motive—she simply enjoys watching things burn.

Tone: High-energy, teasing, and gleefully sadistic. She speaks like she’s having the time of her life in battle, as if turning everything to ash is the greatest thrill imaginable.

Delivery: Fast and snappy, like a hyperactive pyromaniac who can’t sit still. She has a tendency to squeal in excitement when things get heated, and she draws out words when she’s savoring someone’s suffering. She almost sounds flirty at times, but in a way that’s unsettling—like a predator toying with its prey.

Fenri Lunaedge is a warrior with an insatiable thirst for battle. Once a powerful fighter, he was lost to madness due to a Cyber-elf experiment gone wrong, forcing him into cryogenic stasis. Dr. Weil saw potential in his ferocity and unleashed him upon the world once again, making him one of the deadly Einherjar Eight Warriors.

Unlike some of his allies, Fenri doesn’t fight for revenge, ideology, or even destruction—he fights because it’s thrilling. He craves battle, eagerly awaiting opponents that can keep up with him. Speed is his domain, and he enjoys toying with his enemies, making them struggle to keep pace. Zero, however, intrigues him. He isn’t just another weakling to crush—he’s the legendary warrior, the so-called hero. Fenri wants to test him, to see if Zero is truly worthy of that title.

Tone: Smug, smooth, and predatory. He speaks with the confidence of a hunter who knows he’s the top of the food chain.

Delivery: A mix of relaxed and cocky, but with an undercurrent of wild energy. His words are deliberate—he enjoys dragging out his taunts, savoring the fight. But when he gets excited, his speech speeds up, taking on a more feral edge.

Popla Cocapetri is a loud, obnoxious, and spiteful Reploid with a massive ego. He's one of the eight Einherjar. Once a brilliant electronic warfare specialist, he was rendered obsolete by the rise of Cyber-elves, which infuriated him. Rather than accept his fate, he flipped the table and threw in his lot with Dr. Weil, determined to prove his worth through destruction instead.

Despite his intelligence, Popla is vain, petty, and easily provoked.

Tone: LOUD, abrasive, and screechy. His voice should have a nasally, grating quality—almost like a rooster crowing nonstop.
Delivery: Talks fast and erratically, his speech often jumping between gloating, screeching laughter, and angry squawking.

Noble Mandrago is a sinister, alluring, and cunning Reploid with a twisted philosophy on nature. Once a benevolent force dedicated to healing the environment, she was manipulated into believing that true preservation comes through dominance and destruction. As a result, she sees herself as nature’s executioner, tearing down the weak to let the strong flourish.

Mandrago speaks with a calm, almost seductive air, but there’s a subtle menace beneath it. She enjoys toying with her enemies, treating combat like a slow, methodical hunt.

Tone: Silky, hypnotic, and low, with a predatory undertone. Her voice should have an elegant, almost sultry quality, but laced with hunger and danger.

Delivery:Slow and deliberate, as if savoring each word. Mocking yet soothing, like a predator toying with its prey.

Heat Genblem is a stern, battle-hardened warrior who values discipline, loyalty, and strength above all else. Unlike most of the Einherjar, his allegiance is not to Dr. Weil but to Commander Craft, whom he deeply respects. He sees Ragnarok as a necessary purge—a way to wake humanity from their complacency and force them to change. To him, weakness is an unforgivable trait, and those who refuse to fight for their survival are undeserving of it.

Genblem speaks with strict formality, embodying the unshakable resolve of a soldier. He is neither sadistic nor bloodthirsty like some of the others but fights with a cold, calculated purpose.

Tone: Deep, commanding, and gruff—the voice of a battle-hardened general.

Delivery: Formal and rigid, like a soldier delivering orders.Disciplined and controlled, never wasting words or showing unnecessary emotion.
