Matchmaking for Ghosts: Character Casting p.2

Matchmaking for Ghosts: Character Casting p.2

Project Overview

INTRODUCTION

Hi there! Matchmaking for Ghosts is a character-driven romance visual novel set in a mysterious afterlife hotel, and we're once again opening auditions!

Created by us at Adoraboo Studios, the game blends romance, mystery, dark comedy, and emotional storytelling in a vibrant, supernatural world. While the matchmaking game is full of playful chemistry and memorable personalities, each relationship gradually uncovers the ghosts' unresolved pasts - and the truth behind the afterlife they've found themselves in.

We're currently looking for three voice actors to bring the host of the game and two of our secondary cast members to life as we continue development toward our August 2026 Steam Demo.

PROJECT OVERVIEW

You awaken in the Infinite Hotel, where Death offers eight recently departed souls a chance at a better afterlife through a mysterious matchmaking game. As romance, humor, and vulnerability intertwine, a larger mystery surrounding the hotel - and Death itself - begins to emerge.

ROLE BREAKDOWNS

BELLA - Graceful Temptress

Voice Type: Female • Soft French accent • Mid 20s
Tone: Sultry, confident, composed

Character Summary:
A hedonistic, non-conformist socialite who climbed the social ladder by playing on people’s desires, using those to get what she wants. Self-assured, magnetic, and effortless, Bella loves drawing people into dangerous but exhilarating games they might not fully understand, yet can’t get enough of.
Era: Belle Époque, Paris

Performance Notes:

Mature, controlled, and deliberate. Bella rarely needs to raise her voice or try too hard to command attention; her confidence should feel natural. Her seduction is playful and knowing rather than exaggerated. Even when amused, affectionate, or dismissive, she remains largely graceful and composed.

Sample Prompts:

  1. Gentle elegant small laugh (soft, polite)

  2. “Ah ah ah~” (playful rejection)

  3. “You must know better than to challenge me, darling… I don’t play without stakes~” (amused, challenging)

  4. Mmh, very good. Turn around for me, dear. Let me look at you. (sultry)

  5. Pity. Though, I’m hardly surprised someone with the likes of you is incapable of reaching my standards. (bored, dismissive)

IVAN - Reticent Scholar

Voice Type: Male • (Soft) Russian accent • 25s–30s
Tone: Stoic, reserved, intelligent

Character Summary:
A mysterious, solitary novelist who knows more than he lets on. He doesn’t spare time unless necessary. Not because he’s cold, but because he has no interest in idle conversation. Match his intelligence or offer him something meaningful, and he’ll quietly reciprocate your sincerity.
Era: Russia 1883-1914

Performance Notes:
Restrained, precise, and thoughtful. He is not emotionless or constantly cold; most of his feelings appear through subtle shifts in pace, softness, irritation, or hesitation rather than dramatic delivery. His dry remarks should feel natural and understated. Moments of praise, concern, or vulnerability are rare, so even a small display of warmth should feel meaningful.

Sample Prompts:

  1. (small sigh) Fine. Your arguments carry some merit, I suppose… (reluctantly conceding, yet impressed)

  2. Fool. She hates the drink, that’s why. And you were going to serve me that? (Flynn served Mary a bitter drink and asked her why she’s grimacing.)

  3. “Correct. It seems you’ve been paying attention, after all.” (soft pride, praising)

  4. “I fail to understand what prompted you to do so… though… your thoughtfulness isn’t unwelcome.” (after receiving a gift he didn’t expect)

DEATH - Amicable and Fair Host

Voice Type: Male or masculine-presenting • Neutral Accent • Mature adult voice

Tone: Deep, steady, welcoming, quietly authoritative

Character Summary:
A detached yet encouraging game host that is determined to ensure the success of the matchmaking game. Death presents themselves as fair, patient, and neutral, with the occasional flair from excitement. However, their tone may slightly adapt to what each player needs, whether that be reassurance or a firmer hand.

Performance Notes:
Calm, measured, and quietly commanding. Death should sound welcoming enough for the ghosts to trust them, but never entirely human or familiar. Their warmth is controlled and purposeful, and they rarely rush, raise their voice, or lose control.

Sample Prompts:

  1. “Welcome… to the Infinite Hotel.” (calm, prideful welcome)

  2. “Go on. They shall wish to know more. Tell them a little about yourself.” (softly encouraging)

  3. “If you are not well-rested, you will be unfit to participate. And that would be a shame.”

  4. “Simply answer honestly. Or dishonestly. The consequences of either are rarely predictable.”

  5. “Normally, I’d make an example of your misbehavior. But tonight? I’ll allow it. Carry on, now.” (letting a couple off the hook in favor of them bonding; being slightly pleased instead)
