Despite the brutal beating he has received, things are beginning to look up for Spider-Man. He manages to put the Green Goblin away in prison, he has a great relationship with both his wife Mary Jane and his Aunt May, and he has a successful teaching position at a high school as Mr. Parker. But not long after his fight with his green nemesis, he gets a call from a mysterious man who is not only knowledgeable of his secret hero identity, but is plotting to go after the ones he loves. Starting with the capture of Aunt May. Can Spider-Man save her before danger befalls her?
Hello everyone! My name is MasterDK. I am a YouTuber who produces content centered around music, discussions, and of course voice work. This type of project is very much a first for me, but I feel I have what it takes to make it a reality and I’m overall very excited about it. Not only will I get to share my love of comics to the fullest but I can work with other amazing voice talents. Those two combined makes this a guarantee! I look forward to what comes out of this and what you all bring to the table.
There is a total of 22 issues in Marvel Knights Spider-Man and there are separate story arcs across them. I intend to do them al, but this specific casting call will be for the first 4 issues, the “Down Among The Dead Men” arc. Keep in mind that this overall project is long term and certain major roles will be returning in future parts. Keep this in mind before auditioning as I’d hate to replace a perfect voice for the role. Make sure you have the time. I can’t say how long this will overall be, but seeing as how there are 4 separate arcs followed by 4 more issues, it will probably extend into next year. Juuuust a guess lol Just expect me to ask some of you to stick around.
For this project, I’ll be providing the voice for Peter Parker / Spider-Man. In case you’re wondering why he’s not a role listed here lol.
You may notice there are a lot of minor roles to fill. Some of them are even unnamed. I encourage everyone to try and audition for multiple roles. Because you might end up landing more than one, whether it be all minor or a combination of major and minor. All unnamed roles will be credited in the final product as “Additional Voices”.
RULES:
Like most projects on CCC, you will need a Discord so I can communicate with all of you at once on a server. Be sure to include your Discord in your audition. You can always make a new one if needed and I will ask for it if you don’t include it. I will work with you the best I can on that but I can’t cast you if you just don’t have it lol
You must have a good microphone. One that is clear and at least close to studio quality. No cheap laptop or headset mics. It would be distracting otherwise. Try to keep out background noises as well. I can work with most audio and can always give it tweaks if needed. But I can’t work miracles lol
It is important to note that this project is UNPAID, and will be focused on experience and not money. I promise to give credit to everyone who participates and will promote your main outlets to my YouTube audience.
If you land a role, you will need to be very attentive of where your lines are. Your script will be the comic itself. You will need to pay close attention to where your lines are delivered, everything down to the one-word interjections you might have, so that you don’t miss lines when recording. If you need help identifying a certain line, I will help you out.
Make sure you have a large range of emotional delivery, as I would like the different layers of these characters’ personalities and emotions to really shine through in this dub. Whatever emotion the character displays in that panel, that’s what should be translated into your vocal performance. It may be difficult if saaay you are in an environment where you can’t be loud and give it your all. Also I must note that if you are going to be loud, avoid peaking in your recordings lol. I’ll try my best to minimize it myself through the editing process, but in order for it to sound more natural, try and avoid it as much as possible.
Be respectful. Probably most important of all. I’m willing to show kindness and respect to anyone who earns it. And it doesn’t take that much to earn it. Being an asshole gets you nowhere and I don’t have to put up with it. Neither does anyone else. One thing I want in a large group of people as much as possible is for them to get along. At least well enough to commit to the project. I’m not going to police any kinda language or adult humor and I will allow people to have any opinion they please. Just don’t attack others or bully them in the process. That’s the line that can be crossed and it can get you the boot. I can’t promise you the best damn server you’ll ever be in, but I can promise that lol
Peter Parker’s loving wife and one of the major roles in this series. A very smooth-talking flirty girl who always insists on calling her husband “Tiger”, and deeply cares for his well-being, especially knowing of his hero career. For this role, I am looking for these characteristics. Something sexy but also very loving and caring when things need to get serious.
“Jeez Tiger, you’re crazy, you know that? Is it true what they said on the news? Is it true you finally got Osborn busted?”
(In tears) “You're going to find her, aren’t you Peter? I mean this is all just another one of those weird things that happens to us, right? Tell me it’s not as bad as it looks...”
Though a thief most of the time, Felicia is always willing to help Peter when the situation demands it. This is one of those times, as she becomes a humble ally throughout the series. She’s a very flirty and playful girl, who is also tough as nails in both crime-fighting and crime businesses. Also being one of Peter’s many girlfriends of the past, she has a soft caring side for him. That is the delivery to shoot for. Think MJ..but much more fierce with the flirts.
“You know, I’m no angel Peter. But there’s a line even black cats don’t cross. You don’t try to peek under the masks, and you don’t use peoples’ families against them.”
(With a little more aggression) “Me too. Touch my ex again and I’ll kill you”
Spidey’s most active nemesis and the mastermind behind the plot to destroy Spider-Man in this series. As the Goblin, he is psychotic, intimidating, and can be menacingly evil when taunting or threatening Spidey. Osborn/Goblin is more than determined to destroy Spider-Man after learning his identity. Norman has a very sinister businessman personality while Goblin is a chaotic and insane green imp. You will need to be able to capture both of these in this role.
(NORMAN) “And when I look at you, I see an itsy-bitsy spider that doesn’t know where to turn. Happy hunting, little man.”
(GOBLIN) “BIG DEEP BREATH PARKER!”

Peter Parker’s Aunt May, a sweet old lady who tries her best to look after her nephew, whether it be pampering him or scolding him for worrying her. She ends up being the victim of a large kidnapping scheme that Spidey must get to the bottom of. Something in the realm of a fragile old lady still trying to toughen it out to support her family is what I’m looking for with May’s role.
“Oh god, is it bad? Should we take him to the hospital?”
“You’re a very special boy, you know that Peter? Thank you for asking me to come and live beside you.”
While he will eventually become a key player in this series, his identity remains a mystery to the reader. He leaves a call to Peter Parker letting him know that he is fully aware of his secret identity and threatens to do some serious harm to his loved ones, much worse than defiling a headstone of his deceased uncle. Really capture a creepy, mysterious and evil tone with his character, as that is how he is portrayed up until his identity is revealed. And until he is revealed, keep in mind that you will be credited as The Kidnapper to avoid spoilers.
“Nice job finally bringing in the Green Goblin by the way. But how much of a nerve does that shyster have charging you with aggravated assault, huh?”
(Mockingly) “Care for a wheatcake, sweetie?”
One of the 2 villains suspected of capturing Aunt May. Later in the series, he will end up joining the Sinister Twelve. He enjoys taunting Spidey in fights with him about how powerful he is compared to him. But he can get very short-tempered in a fight as well.. So someone who sounds very skeevy. Very conniving. But also a tough guy. Try and capture this for the role.
“Me? I’m super-charged as ever, Aleksandr. Super-charged as ever, man.”
“She’s got nothing to do with any of this and she’s only gonna get hurt when you and me get started, right?? What do you say??”
One of the 2 villains suspected of capturing Aunt May, who later in the series will join up with the Sinister Twelve. Despite his fragile elderly appearance, he is a tough and ruthless villain to be dealt with. He wants Spider-Man to be his worthy opponent and when he unmasks him, he sees a mere nobody who isn’t worthy of fighting him. So I’m looking for someone who sounds old but is plenty aggressive. He reveals to Spider-Man he was gonna use the 20 billion dollars he lost to save his grandson from leukemia, making his feud with Spider-Man in this arc very personal.
“I don’t like this at all, Max. We’re supposed to be lying low here. I thought we agreed we weren’t even going to leave the hotel room until the wheel-man picked us up.”
(Angry) “THAT’S why I wanted the money Spider-Man! Ten million bucks is chicken-feed to guys like Kingpin and the Owl, but it’s the difference between living and dying for my little grandson!”
A short- time villain in the Marvel Knights Spider-Man series who Spidey at first comes to for help to find his aunt, but ends up being tricked by the hairy fiend. Though a very ruthless villain, he is usually calm, collective, and quite eloquent in the way he speaks. That is the delivery I am looking for. I’m open to interpretations.
“Perhaps we just need a little less protecting, Spider-Man. Would you care for a glass of Chateau Margaux, incidentally? Someone from the Latverian Embassy sent me a bottle from their Jefferson collection and it’s really quite exquisite.”
(More sinister) "Take the blanket off and show him what happens to someone who steals from the Owl's nest, gentlemen."
Leader of the Avengers but a minor role in this arc. He is one of the Avengers present in their mansion when Spider-Man comes to ask for help. Looking for a heroic, pure and brave soldier hailed from Brooklyn.
“Stand down Pietro. Let’s hear what this gentleman has to say before things get anymore out of hand.”
“Actually, going public didn’t affect me either. In fact, not having to maintain two separate lives has actually been very liberating.”
Popular member of the Avengers but also a very small role in this arc.. As the Avengers film put it, Stark is a genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist. What else is there to say? Lol I’m not asking specifically for a Robert Downey Jr. delivery, but try and take the listed characteristics and use them in your audition. Very show-offy kind of person most of the time and only takes things seriously when things really hit the fan.
“I think the pictures should instill a sense of national security, Miss Liebowitz. You know, like the ones you took of Dick and George when they were plotting the war in Iraq?”
“Well it’s been a pleasure working with you, gentlemen”

“Goodnight young sir. I hope your frat-house friends find this all a little more amusing than those security people making their way towards you.”
Head of the Daily Bugle. Short-tempered and a fast talker. Runs his building like a machine and isn’t afraid to speak his mind or slander Spider-Man in the paper. He ends up hiring Sam Fischer as his new photographer.
“Yeah? You’re so great, how come I never heard of you, fatso?”
“Robertson, what have I told you about talkin’ stuff up in front of the freelancers? Every adjective you use to describe this junk’s another zero I gotta add at the end of the…” (cut off)
Editor-In-Chief at the Daily Bugle. Introduces Saul Fischer to his boss, J. Jonah Jameson.
“Saul here’s an orderly down at New York Methodist. And he’s gotten us a lot of great pictures these last couple of years. Tell him some of the pics you got for us, Saul.”
“Well we couldn’t run Saul’s name without compromising his position at the hospital, chief. But believe me, that’s all about to change with this little snap.”
Undercover photographer. Takes photos of Spider-Man getting wheeled in through the hospital. He gets scolded by Robinson. He later gets hired as Daily Bugle’s new photographer. Interpret how you’d like.
“Whoa! Sorry didn’t realize there was a rule or anything, man.”
“I’m the guy who took that shot of Dazzler after her overdose, Mr. Jameson. And Kingpin eating through a straw after Daredevil messed him up? That was one of mine, too.”
A group photographer having a discussion with Tony Stark at the Avengers Mansion. Interpret however you’d like.
“I’m open to anything except another damn group shot with Captain America standing in the middle and holding up his shield again, Mr. Stark.”
“What’s this? A fire drill?”
A man who appears in Issue #1 who seems to work at a cafe with a coworker. They both find a hurt Spider-Man lying in trash in an alleyway.
“Nah that’s a chick flick, right? I don’t watch chick flicks.”
“Why the heck should you pay an extra ten bucks for a movie that cost half as much to ship as an old VHS tape, man?”
A young black high school teenager who asks his teacher Peter Parker if it’s true that he used to be famous. Interpret however you’d like.
“Is it true you used to be famous Mister Parker?”
“Is it true you get some kinda royalty every time those pictures get used somewhere, Mister Parker?”
Student who sits behind Franklin who Googled Peter’s name and found out he’s a famous photographer. Also has quite the potty mouth lol Interpret however you’d like.
“Googled your name and got fifteen hundred responses, man. Some big agency got all your old pictures and says you gotta pay cash an’ stuff if you wanna use em for anythin"
“The hell he need a royalty for, man? Parker’s married to a goddamn super-model, jackass. Guy’s gotta be a millionaire.”
Apparently a member of the school faculty along with Peter. He comes into his class to let Peter know he has an important call. Only has a couple lines on top of each other. Interpret however you like.
“Telephone call for you Mister Parker. City council on the line and it doesn’t sound like jury duty, buddy.”
A man who apparently runs a nightclub that Electro and Vulture visit. He points out a lady who can satisfy Vulture. I’m looking for a bouncer-type character with a Ukrainian accent for this role.
“Electro! It’s so good to see you my friend! How are you doing, eh? How is my good buddy doing these days?”
“Oh I think he got to meet Fedora, Electro. She just get over from Saint Petersburg last month and already big favorite with my customers. You like to give her nice try?”
A Ukrainian escort and also a shape-shifting mutant with whom Electro is her ummm...personal customer.
“So who you like me to be tonight, Electro? Mrs. Sue Richards, perhaps? Invisible Woman from Fantastic Four and beautiful wife of successful Doctor Reed?”
“Just tell me who you like me to become, my boyfriend. Just say the word and you have one hour of pleasure with them.”
The escort that Max and Aleksandr pick out for Toomes, much to his reluctance. She shows concern when Spider-Man and Electro start brawling and tells Adrian to help his friend. Only has one line.
“Where are you going, Mr. Toomes? Turn into The Vulture and help him, for god’s sake!”
One of the paramedics that brings in an injured Spider-Man. He scolds Saul Fischer for taking photos. He also shows concern when one of the doctors asks for Spidey's mask to be removed. Interpret how you’d like.
“The hell are you doing taking pictures, fat boy?”
“You can’t take his mask off! What about his secret identity?”
A police officer who scolds the hospital staff for not keeping Spider-Man anonymous. He is interrupted by Vulture breaking into Peter’s hospital room. Interpret how you'd like.
“I don’t care whose fault it is! You know the procedure! Any super-people brought in here gets marked under assumed names and a media blackout is our first priority!”
“The hell was that??”
Doctor working under Owl, who inspects Electro as he wakes up tied to a chair. Interpret how you'd like, but try and capture that evil doctor personality.
“His eyes are reacting to the light, Mr. Owl. I think he’s waking up.”
“The ropes are the only thing keeping you upright now, Mr. Dillon. The only messages your brain can understand are pain signals.”
Co-worker of Mario's that helps him clean up the cafe. Interpret how you'd like. Mario has the looks of a plump Italian man. I..suggest not doing a Super Mario impression lol Just a typical gruff New Yorker type.
“Man that ain’t no chick flick. I thought I was gonna die laughing at that last night. I gotta give you the DVD before we take it back to the store, man.”
“Ah who cares? I think he’s mumbling something. But he’s totally out of it man. You’d better not touch him in case he’s some kinda junkie.”
A man who foolishly goes up to Goblin’s pumpkin bombs despite Spider-Man’s warning. After getting into an explosion, he begs Spidey to take him to the hospital. As the police comes, he angrily taunts him about how he’s going to jail. Interpret him however you’d like.
(Oblivious and dumb) “What?”
(Angry) “Not such a smart guy now, Spider-Man. Not such a smart guy when they throw you in jail, huh?”
Guy that says OOOH when he sees Spidey slam a mailbox into Goblin’s head, followed by him stating he should have done something less brain-damaging to him. Interpret this character however you’d like.
“OOH!”
“Hey take it easy! I’m not judging you or anything, man. All I’m saying is you could’a knocked him out without brain-damaging the guy.”

“Yeah saw the free tour on that site, man. Spider-Man kicking Electro in the nuts, Spider-Man fighting that Doctor Octopus guy with those big steel arms an’ stuff.”

“He ain’t married to Mary Jane no more. It said on E.W. she moved to L.A. to kick-start her movie career.”

“Nah, that was just a trial separation and the movie stuff all fell through. She’s back living with Mister Parker and they got a place uptown.”
“Oh yeah. Lonely teachers lookin’ for a date is a scream, too. But what you *really* gotta see is the freaky pics Mister Marsh put up on one of those…” (interrupted)
A caretaker at the grave site of Peter’s Uncle Ben, who gives Peter the details of the vandalism of Ben’s headstone. Interpret how you like.
“Wish I could say this kind of thing was rare, sir. But I’m afraid these random acts of vandalism happen more often than anyone would care to admit.”
“Actually we tried to call Mrs. Parker before we called your school, but the operator said she’d just moved into the city and the phone line hadn’t been installed yet.”
A black cab driver on a bridge explaining to his passenger that he can’t move because the Avengers are blocking traffic. He is then startled by Peter jumping on his cab. Interpret however you’d like.
“Listen, no good moaning to *me* about it lady. Not a lot I can do if the Avengers are trying to take down some clown up on the Long Island expressway.”
“Judas H. Priest! What the hell was that??”
Keep in mind that the multiple officers’ roles will be given to different people. But you can still audition for them all for a better chance to land one.
“Out of the question Mr. Secretary. As long as you’re out of your Iron Man armor, you’re under S.H.I.E.L.D. jurisdiction.”
“It’s through the mansion’s primary defenses and making its way down to level 2. Control’s saying we’re safer taking the back stairs. C’mon.”
Keep in mind that the multiple officers’ roles will be given to different people. But you can still audition for them all for a better chance to land one.
“We’re taking you to the nearest panic room, sir.”
“It’s here. It’s down here on the ground floor. That means Ant-Man’s the only active Avenger between you, me..and whatever the hell this thing is, Mr. Secretary.”
A financial advisor who works nights as a bodyguard for Owl. He experiences stomach pains due to Crohn’s disease, drawing concern from Spider-Man.
“Jeezus, my guts!”
“Oh this isn’t what I do for a living Spider-Man. I just do this stuff at nights for a little extra money. I’m a fully qualified financial advisor during the day, you know. C.F.P. registered.”
A paramedic alongside Robinson that brings in an injured Spider-Man. Interpret how you’d like.
“Male, twenties, victim of criminal electrocution followed by involvement in an R.T.A.”
“Man I heard it was Paste-Pot Pete from the Frightful Four. I already called my wife and promised I’d get a picture with that friggin loser.”
Police officer accompanying Officer Jankowicz outside the door to Peter Parker’s hospital room, who informs him that the door is locked. He then pulls a gun on Vulture as he breaks in. Interpret how you’d like.
“I dunno sir. They’ve locked the door.”
“Freeze! Or we blow you a new one Vulture!”
A surgeon who works on an injured Spider-Man. She’s very stern and cares very little about concealing Spidey’s identity.
“Just get him up on the table.”
“What the hell are you, nine years old? Just pass me the scissors before this guy chokes to death, Robinson!”
A female reporter airing the details of the revealed secret identity of Spider-Man. Female news voice
“Max Dillon, the super-villain known as Electro, was also injured during this attack. However, police have yet to confirm reports that Dillon never reached the hospital.”
An angry nurse who yells at Vulture for going after an unconscious Peter Parker in the hospital. Has only one line before she is killed.
“This isn’t fair! You can’t do this! He doesn’t even know where he is, you jerk!”
