About MC Seph

Joseph Richard Mitchell (born August 13, 1983) is an English Voice Actor, Music Producer, DJ, MC, Digital Artist and Youtuber. He is known for his musical abilities and vocal work.

Outside of these things, Mitchell is also a keen motorcyclist and camping enthusiast. He has even been in a metal band named Violation Permit. In April 2009, Mitchell launched his YouTube channel Serial Karnage.

Early Life
Joseph Mitchell was born in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire and raised there. He is the son of events planner, Lancelot Richard Clarke and Home-maker Carol Anne Mitchell. He has one sister; Georgia Mitchell, 2 half-sisters through his mother; Joy Mitchell (deceased) and Dionne Mitchell, and 10 half-siblings through his father; Callum Halliday, Aaron Hoilett, Richard Clarke, Alisha Clarke, Sam Clarke, Sarah Boland, Anne-Marie Goulding, Ross Pickthall, Fallon Pickthall and Lloyd Pickthall. Mitchell was raised non-religious although his mother  does wear a star of David.

Mitchell's parents separated when he was four or five, they were never married. As a child he would only see his father a couple of times. For secondary school, he enrolled at Woughton Campus but would continue education at Stantonbury Campus after about a year due to expulsion. He dropped out of school during his final year and didn't pursue college. He worked many years in customer service at places such as McDonald's, Claire's Accessories, LEGO, BT, The Gadget Shop, Hawkin's Bizarre etc.

Career
In the mid-nineties, Mitchell was asked to MC at the last ever Dreamscape to be held at The Sanctuary. As an MC it was the right choice to DJ also and doing both at the same time was his USP. As his skills grew the rave scene was shrinking just as fast. With the death of Murray Beeston in March 1996 began a downward spiral for the rave scene that eventually led to the closure of The Sanctuary in 2004 with Slammin' Vinyl being the last event there. During this 8 year stretch, Mitchell used his McDonald's wages to rent out bars and run his own events with his friend at the time Iain Ward. Their events were branded Two Mad Kidz. Ward's girlfriend; Tammy Gordon would draw the flyers by hand.

The early 2000's were the golden years for hip-hop according to Mitchell. He would write 'beats' on MUSIC 2000 on the PS1 and Fruity Loops on Windows. He would often create instrumentals to pair with acapellas he had on vinyl to create remixes. He never pursued a serious career in hip-hop which is confusing because his beats are sick and he can flow like the best. He would often win rap battles and competitions but that would be the extent of his rap career. Real hip-hop was dying out at that point so maybe he missed the train again.

Mitchell continued to DJ and MC and rap in the background for many years. He featured a handful of times on live sets with Gasmask Formation. He would later start to learn to play guitar and join a metal band as lead vocalist performing heavy metal mixed with screamo and rap. Mitchell also hosted a radio show of his own and another with Switch & SEVERE on Fresh Mix Radio, a local station in Milton Keynes. He hosted a handful of events too such as Oxjam in October of 2010 and 2013. He worked with The Poet Tree Alliance for some time helping with events such as Properstock 2013 and the fundraiser for the following year. In 2013 Mitchell also started to DJ and photograph weddings and various other parties but only did this for around four years. He moved into sports photography soon after and then more freelance stuff.

2017 saw Mitchell releasing gaming videos on YouTube and begin to explore his desire to be a voice actor while doing occasional reviews and popping out the odd mix or two. The first half of 2018 was quiet but we were blessed with some great content towards the end of the year with more gaming videos, more reviews, more songs and even some tracks charted for the video game, Clone Hero which is a clone of the Guitar Hero franchise. Mitchell even dabbled a little in game development using the M.U.G.E.N engine.

All the way through 2019 Mitchell was producing a comic dub series called The Dark Tower: The Gunslinger Born in which he voiced more than 20 characters and still continues the series now. He is also working on another comic dub series called Predator: Hunters which is based off the Twentieth Century Fox Movies. In this series he voices characters and creates music and sound effects, you can download the music from his Soundcloud account.

The pandemic of 2020 has seen Mitchell turn to digital art as a release and an alternate source of income and as such has opened a digital store at MCSeph.Redbubble.com
