Mario and Sonic - Rio Olympics - Characters Fandub
Project Overview
This project will look at fan dubbing some of the character's dialogue in Mario and Sonic at the Rio Olympic games for the Wii U. And then the 3DS version afterwards.
The lines below are the lines that the characters say in the video. So you may not have to record as much lines if your audition is good enough to use!
The 3DS characters will be added at a later date.
This project is just a short one for fun. It's also my first project so I'm a little new to all this!
If I decide to cast you, you will be invited to join the Discord server, or if you do not use Discord we can communicate via emails (but Discord is more fun!)

I prefer Jason Griffith's voice for Jet. If you could use a voice inspired by Jason's take!
Jet is highly arrogant, confident, conceited and holds high standards. He has a massive ego, considering himself the fastest, and holds everyone else in low regard, often bragging about his skills. While he is willing to praise others, he usually makes his compliments short and follows up with an insult. Over time, Jet has matured slightly and become more of a sport as he gave Shadow and Rouge genuine compliments on their skills.
Jet is usually very rude and disrespectful, and has a snide sense of humor. He enjoys insulting others and rubbing his victory or other's losses in their faces. Even when dealing with his own teammates, Jet cites both Storm and Wave with insults and ignores them.
Not bad! A medal earned is something to be treasured! But that medal's gonna be with the Babylon Rouges soon!
I challenge you to a football match - no backing down now!
I prefer Erica Schroeder's voice for Wave. If you could use a voice inspired by Erica's take!
Because of her knowledge, Wave is brimming with self-confidence. She is very arrogant about her expertise at Extreme Gear, certain that no one can match her in this field. She is a super-achiever and holds very high standards for how Extreme Gear should be and never hesitates to dismiss others' Extreme Gear as 'junk'. She takes great pride in her skills and is passionate about her profession, becoming indignant when someone insults or blames her work for their own failures. She has a keen eye for detail, takes notice of everything, and hates thick-headed and stupid people. Also, she tends to give advice using terminology understandable to only herself and not others. Naturally, this causes tension and frustration between her and others like Jet
Enjoying all that attention you're getting for your BMX performance? I can't believe people even get excited over that level physical exertion!
Compared to our Extreme Gear, this BMX stuff is child's play. C'mon - I'll show you how it's done!
Though Dry Bowser only growls in the games, I would like him to have a deep and growly voice, like something a monster would have. Or, a voice that is deep and sinister sounding without a growl. Dry Bowser also has a reverb/echo effect use, so adding a little vocal editing for this role is A-Ok!
That's it! We need to settle this on the field! No room for two Javelin geniuses here, pal!
I'm the only one the world needs! And I'll show you why!
I honestly like all of Rosalina's voices she has had throughout her various appearances. And thus, I am happy for you to draw inspiration from any of them! As Rosalina has previously had a reverb/echo effect, adding a little audio editing is A-Ok!
Rosalina is depicted as a generally wise, kind, and mature character. She has an intimate knowledge of the universe and cares deeply for the Lumas and her friends, to the point of assuming the role of total caregiver and mother figure for the former. Her outward strength and inner sorrow, as shown in her storybook, are likely due to the loss of her own mother. Rosalina is a calm and reserved character, and often takes pauses when she explains how the universe works. It has also been shown that Rosalina's voice is rather monotone, even when she is excited.
I have been watching all of your performances. It is just as the rumours say. Your potential is positively celestial! I would like to challenge you to a match!
But I must warn you....when it comes to the clubs, I am no slouch either! I simply feel we could have a FABULOUS competition together! Do not expect to win, however!
Out of Zavok's voice actors, Travis Willingham's take is my preferred voice, I would rather you used his take for inspiration!
Zavok is a merciless and cruel being. He is very serious, ferocious, brutal and dark, often deploying graphical threats of death and destruction, and he has little tolerance for failure. Power-hungry and ever focused on his goals, Zavok does not let anything stand in his way. Despite his intensiveness though, Zavok has occasionally displayed a sarcastic, dry sense of humor, such as when he sarcastically complimented Eggman as a "mighty conquerer", and when he jokingly quoted Zor, when stating his opinion of Sonic advancing toward him, deeming Sonic's plan "Pointless".
For all his brutish intensiveness, Zavok keeps a calm demeanor and has a penchant for quick-thinking which makes him well-suited to leadership.
So you're the rookie boxer everyone's making a fuss about, eh? Not bad for a little minnow like you. I like it.
Challenge me, I dare you! Assuming, of course, you have the guts to stand up to my overwhelming skill.
Prepare to be crushed!
Zazz is a nasty, cruel and ruthless Zeti with an unpredictable personality which is both his greatest strength and weakness. The meanest and most psychopathic of his entire race, he is every bit the metalhead he looks like and is wild and unruly to the point where he comes off as rather feral. In addition to giving constant yells, he always wears a very wild expression and attacks with equal savagery. He likewise walks around with erratic body movements and even twitches occasionally. He is heedless to manners and social customs, having no trouble getting extremely close to the face of others, giving rude comments and shows complete disinterest when being scolded. His insanity makes him almost fearless as he rarely shows a single sign of distress. Because of his unpredictability however, it can be easy to turn the tables on him.
You 're a singles Table Tennis medallist!? Bah, so what!? You lucked your way through the whole event! You want me to lick your boots for that!?
Fine then! Let's you and me take it to the court! I wanna show a spoiled brat like you what true competition feels like!
I like all of Rouge's voices that she has had throughout all of her appearances. So take inspiration from any of them!
Rouge is a strong-minded young woman. A fearless, ambitious, independent, flirtatious, greedy, calculating narcissist who most people see as only caring for herself and gems. It is shown in Sonic Generations that Rouge can be referred to a temptress, due to her seductive ways. Her carefree and playful attitude can be fun to some characters, like the easygoing Sonic, or annoying for others, like the gruff Knuckles. She has a lot of pride and will fight dirty when facing a formidable opponent, such as Knuckles (when it comes to strength; hindering his sight in a dark tent). She can also show a bashful side, such as the time Knuckles saved her life from falling to her doom and became very embarrassed before concealing it with disgust, outrage, and ingratitude. She can also be a bit of a hypocrite, especially in regards to thefts. This is especially evident when, after witnessing the Master Emerald being stolen, she refers to the one stealing it as a thief despite the fact that she herself had stolen it from Knuckles earlier, something the echidna even noted by saying "Look who's calling who a thief", and in Grand Metropolis stage when she calls robots energy thieves.
Oh, well done. That was some VERY impressive beach volleyball action. Perhaps you'd like to take me on next...and hand over your medal if I win!
This way, I can score a medal without all this tiresome tournament business. No fuss, no muss - just a match with your medal on the line! Come on, it'll be fun!
I like all of Espio's voices he has had throughout all his appearances, so take inspiration from any of then!
A straight-laced detective, Espio is serious, practical, intelligent and wise. He has a militaristic discipline despite being quiet and laid-back. Espio is additionally portrayed as being stubborn, opinionated and self-obsessed. Despite this, he has an excellent drive to all that he does and flourishes off of peril, getting himself into threatening situations to flex and polish his ninja skills, and, due to his extensive training, he can confront these troubles head-on unconcerned by danger.
You have conquered the Triple Jump field...The time has arrived.
I, Espio, humbly request a duel with you, the master of Hop, Step and Jump.
There is much in common between the Triple Jump and my repertoire of ninja skills. It is time to put my constant training to the test!
I have always pictured Nabbit having a young boy's voice, characters like Tails from Sonic come to mind. That kind of voice.
My preference would be that Nabbit is voiced by a woman doing a young boy's voice, but everyone can audition for Nabbit regardless! Who knows, I might like your voice more!
Will you face me? In the 100m, I mean? No one can keep up with my speed!
Much like Nabbit, I have always pictured Diddy having a young boy's voice, characters like Tails from Sonic come to mind. That kind of voice.
My preference would be that Diddy is voiced by a woman doing a young boy's voice, but everyone can audition for Diddy regardless! Who knows, I might like your voice more!
The crowd adores you guys, and I do too! I'd love a chance to face you in Rugby sevens! I'll even let you know how to improve once I beat you!
Sticks is energetic, free-spirited, and primal. She has sharp animal instincts, is a fearsome combatant, a tenacious hunter, and will enter a feral frenzy when she is angry. Because of her isolated life, Sticks has become off-kilted, obtuse, mental and just plain nutty, and she thinks others are living in an alternate world different from the normal one, something that unnerves friends and enemies alike. While Sticks recognizes that she is a kook, she does not like having herself and her ideas written off as crazy by default (as she often turns out to be right)
Oooooh! You get a medal if you win, huh? Look at how shiny it is!
I'm so jealous! Can I have it, c'mon, lemme have it!
Of all Toad's voices, my favourite is his voice by Samantha Kelly. If you could take inspiration from Samantha's take on Toad...and be careful not to damage your voice!
Toad is often portrayed as cheerful almost to the point of childishness; his official artworks often show him with a wide smile on his face. He is also excitable and prone to panic, and is often shown running around frantically. Toad is also sometimes seen as somewhat of a coward, although he seems to be actually aware of his own cowardice. Despite this, Toad still manages to be brave when the need truly calls for it, and often helps Mario on his multiple adventures. In some Mario Kart images and various Mario media (such as the comic series), Toad has also been portrayed as accident-prone or simply unlucky.
You guys are the BEST! I've been rooting for you this whole time, truth be told.
I'm also wondering if maybe we should face you in the 4x100 metre Relay!
We're good, you know. Really good! I bet it would be the best matchup of the day!
I like all of Wendy's voices in all of her appearances, so feel free to take inspiration from any of her voices!
Wendy is shown to be very desiring of wealth and prestige; her being the one of two Koopalings in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga to drop 102 coins instead of 99 may be a reference to her greed. The comics and to some extent the DiC cartoons typically portray her as a spoiled brat, and she even thinks of herself as Bowser's favourite child. She does whatever she can to impress her father and likes to be congratulated for her bad deeds. Her personality in the cartoons highlights these traits further, and she is shown to have a very short temper over little things and can be violent when provoked. This latter trait is further confirmed in Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam, though she isn't portrayed as spoiled. After being hit by debris coming from a rock broken by mistake by Roy when fighting the Mario brothers and Paper Mario, she gets angry at Roy and fights him instead of the brothers and Paper Mario[13]. She seems to have a bit of a rivalry with Roy, as she makes some smart remarks at Roy's expense, as evidenced by the opening for Bowser's Minions.
Say, you're not too shabby. But you're also hogging the spotlight, so it looks like it's time for me to take you on personally! Get ready buster!
Of all Larry's voices my favourite is Michelle Hippe's take. If you could take inspiration from Michelle's voice for Larry!
Much like Nabbit and Diddy, I have always pictured Larry having a young boy's voice, which he previously has had, albeit without much talking.
My preference would be that Larry is voiced by a woman doing a young boy's voice, but everyone can audition for Larry regardless! Who knows, I might like your voice more!
Think your hot stuff in horseback, huh? bet you're also thinkin' you can take on the best of the best sometime. Well, here he is! Right in front of ya!
Whoa! Where're you lookin!? Down here, horse brains! If you wanna be number one, you gotta beat me first! Not that you can hehehehe!
The name's Roy! I'll take you on in Beach Volleyball Plus. If you're up to the challenge that is!
All right! Let's get this party started! No holding back now!
Never thought I'd lose in a Plus Event. You've got some serious skills, pal. Well next time you're craving more thrills, drop by and see me. I'll be here!
Having inherited Dr. Eggman's scientific genius and his wicked sneakiness, Eggman Nega is a sinister, ruthless, power-hungry, violent and cruel individual who seeks to dominate the world and those beyond if it is within his ability to do so. While they are similar in many regards from an outside point of however, Eggman Nega is hinted to be quite different from his ancestor on the inside.
I am Doctor Eggman Nega. Will you face me in a long jump event, elevated to heretofore unseen heights? What sort of event, you ask? Heh...My answer, in a word: Plus! Now, what is your choice? Speak!
Yes! Then let us begin! Ahahahahahaha!
Nrrrgh! Me losing in this refactored Long Jump event is inconceivable! But so I have. I will return this debt in time, mark my words. Until we meet again, enjoy your fleeting victory.
