Project Overview

Hello! I'm Mari and I'm working with my partner Eden. We're looking to bring on 8-12 PEOPLE to help produce our 6 animated shorts for the relaunch of our original project Malaprop.

  • Malaprop is a collaborative worldbuilding project about a world of magic where humans inherit powers from random titles soul bound to them at birth. Its world grows as the community grows. Please read more about it here: Malaprop Info Site

Project Details

  • There are 6 shorts in total. Each short will be posted to our social media. (Tiktok, Youtube, Instagram)

  • The project is set to be in full production by mid June 2026 however we will start working in the animation aspect of things around mid May.

  • This is a virtual production, everyone works from home.

  • This is an UNPAID position. It's fun volunteer work! Proper credit will be provided in posts along with a copy of the shorts for portfolios/demo reels if requested by the artist.

Requirements

  • Must be 16+ to receive a role.

  • Must be able to communicate through discord.

We're looking for 2-3 2D animators. This job includes one or more of these tasks:

  • Rough Animation
  • Cleanup Animation
  • Coloring
  • Possibly Compositing
Preferably animators should have access to either Toon Boom Harmony or Clip Studio Paint. However, animators with ToonSquid, Procreate Dreams, or other programs they're proficient in will be considered.

If the hired artist wishes to participate in other aspects of artistic production as well, they're more than welcome to ask regardless of whether or not multiple auditions were submitted.

  • Adding sound effects and/or Ambient audio
