Magical Knight Academy: Heavenly Armaments (Kickstarter Trailer/Demo)
Project Overview
Hello everyone and welcome to the auditions page for Magical Knight Academy: Heavenly Armaments, or MKA(HA) for short,MKA is an indie game being developed by me and a group of friends, and it is a mix between visual novel and rpg. Leaning towards the visual novel part, is my desire to tell a story, and a story which is driven by characters and their actions, goals, aspirations, etc. These characters are only better portrayed and come to life more effectively with voice acting.But first, let me tell you abit about the characters and the setting.
MKA, as the title suggests, takes place at a magical knight academy, where aspiring knights go to hone their skills and prepare themselves for one of the most prestigious jobs the world has to offer. What exactly IS a magical knight though? Magic development has allowed for the manifestation of the spirits of weapons into the world, and this is where we are introduced to the weapon girls, or the Heavenly Armaments. With these spirits, a knight has now become more akin to a mage, and the best knight is he or she who forms the best relationship with his weapon's spirit.
For now, because we haven't finalized all the personalities for all the magical knights and the Heavenly Armaments, the only roles included in this page are the roles which will be required for the demo of the game and for the trailer which will be posted on the kickstarter page. I guess you can say abit of a tsundere. She was the weapon of a much more capable and high ranking wielder before being handed to Ryota, who had his original weapon broken, but eventually she grows to like him and the two get along. She's a nice character deep down, just has a small layer of tsundere on the top. Other than that, she's a fierce fighter, loves a good fight, and loves a good drink to celebrate a victory. Clara is the Heavenly Armament which represents the Claymore.
So, you're my new wielder? Why did I get entrusted to some recruit...fine, I suppose we can work together, I'm Clara.
Alright, let's get down to business!
Fighting Noises, Improvise
Ryota's original weapon, which happens to get broken in weapon form, which results in the spirit being unable to fight in Heavenly Armament form. However, she tags along with Ryota regardless as his friend. Shes usually excited and bubbly, and does her best to encourage Ryota, cheer him on, and congradulate him on his victories, but also can get intimidated rather easily in the face of danger, probably because shes already suffered enough damage. Although she had a different name, after waking up from being damaged, she asks Ryota for something to call her as a name. Seeing that no other weapon in the academy would be like her, Ryota decides to call her Yui. (which one of its many meanings is only, unique, etc)
There's someone blocking the way down the hall...he doesn't look too friendly...we should proceed carefully...

After an intense battle like tha- I mean, after our victory which was assured from the start, we should definitely celebrate!
Pretty self explanatory, just a guy who wants to start trouble just because he enjoys it.

Very arrogant type of guy but at the same time not too flamboyant.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Like Ryota's lines, Line 1 is spoken by younger Ashley, while 2 and 3 by older. Younger Ashley is slightly more flamboyant, he is more of a show off, but still not over the top, while in lines 2 and 3, certain story related incidents have occured, and Ashley has become a much more cold hearted person, with one exception, but that wont be featured in the trailer, thats a different story. Older Ashley needs to sound alot more like "I'm above you and just talking to you is wasting my time, get out of my way" while younger Ashley is more "I know I'm the best and thats a universal truth, and I hate it when people think they can be as good as me, because im inherently better".
Really? YOU aspire to be like ME? *Chuckles, or light laugh* Some people are selected by destiny, others have potential, and others destiny selects to stay out of certain matters. You belong in the third category.
Time spent on worms like you is time wasted.
You were given your position in the student body to utilize it, you aren't enjoying a privilege, you are undertaking a task. Act more like it.
Your kind hearted classmate who just wants to help out and make sure everyone is set and good to go. We all know this character. Sweet and simple.

Inspirational, older brother to look up to kind of character, he spoke to Ryota once before he joined the Academy, and then watches over him from a distance when he joins, and also intervening to help him whenever he needs help, for example, when his weapon ends up broken, Gideon gives Clara to Ryota, so he is not left to fend for himself with a broken weapon.
Destiny? You're willing to let a concept which might not exist hold you back from achieving your dreams? I've never heard such nonesense before.
Now take this armament, and I trust you will fight well with her. I must get going. We will talk again.

Laid back, chill attitude, kinda like delinquent who is her wielder, but less eager to get in a fight, wont go out looking for it, but is ready to get in a fight if you give her a reason. Chouko is the Heavenly Armament which represents the Butterfly Knife.

IMPORTANT NOTE: There is a major difference between Line 1 and Lines 2/3. Line 1 is spoken by Ryota at about age 13, he is very unconfident, at this point he's a kid with hopes who looks up to someone who frankly cares nothing about him and dreams of becoming a knight one day. The other two lines are spoken by Ryota after he gets accepted into the Knight Academy, age 17 to 18, he's grown older, and while his voice might not necessarily have to change that much, his attitude has changed tons. He's now far more confident and determined, his dreams are still there, but he no longer looks up to Ashley, right now he believes in himself and he realizes that Ashley isnt even a role model worth looking up to. Now Ryota believes that even though Ashley is from a much more privileged background than he is, with hard work and effort, he will make the difference, and he will make miracles happen, even if, as Ashley claims, destiny has chosen a different path for him.
Well, its just that...I don't know Ashley, the things you do are amazing, seeing them just makes me...it makes me aspire to be like you one day.
Those days are over now, I've realized alot of things since then, even if Ashley is right about destiny, then I intend to walk a path against it if I have to.
