Story Synopsis

Adventurers seek to take the Demon Queen’s head, but a love-struck young female mage wishes to take her hand. Join us won’t you for this bawdy tale of love and persistence set inside a real-life RPG. (Taken straight from webtoon site)



Information:

Mage and Demon Queen is a fantasy, comedy, slice-of-life, and sapphic love story based around the main character Malory and her attempts at love with the Demon Queen Vel. The story is written by Color_LES. It is currently running on Webtoons right now and is in its third season. Please support the original work by reading it through the link below!

With permission from the creator we are creating a fandub of Mage and Demon Queen which will feature not only voice acting but sound effects and other auditory noises to hopefully help bring the project to life more fully for those that can’t read or simply wish to experience the story in a whole new light! Let it be known although we have permission this is still not an official dub of the comic and any and all property of the Mage and Demon Queen series belongs to Color_LES and Webtoons themselves!!!


The webcomic has themes of Violence, Crude Humor, Suggestive Themes, Gore, and Racism (Usually against monsters or humans in general). If you are uncomfortable with any of these themes please refrain from auditioning for the character that is labeled with them!

These are unpaid, remote roles for a dub for the webtoon Mage and Demon Queen. It will be posted on the Youtube channel Vocal Spirits Studios.


There are a lot of scenes in the Webtoon that borders on multiple different emotions and actions which would be considered NSFW for some people. That being said there are no scenes so far that would be inherently sexual content.


Sessions would prefer to be held in live directed sessions over Discord for most roles and handled by the Project Lead, LucidWraithh, and a second Assistant Director for the episodes being recorded that day. If unable to do so you may do asynchronous recording however retakes and pick-ups may be required.




Audition Information:

The auditions for the roles below will be held until December 31 11:59 P.M. CST [UTC-6]


If chosen you will be sent a message or confirmation Sometime in the following two weeks and the official cast list will be released once all the roles have been confirmed in subsequent posts on Twitter.


Please record your auditions in at least 24-bit, 48000 Hz, in either WAV or MP3 files (If possible due to CCC's file size limits) with as little background noise as possible and raw (slight cleanup is fine such as normalization and cutting but we want to hear your room quality). Additionally, if you plan on adding effects to your audio (such as reverb or pitch changes) please make sure to send one file with the effects and one without such things added!


Please name your files as “CharacterName_Audition_ActorName.wav/mp3”. Also make a separate file for each character if auditioning for multiple. (i.e. “Malori_Audition_KaiKraft.wav”)


Feel free to improvise efforts and pauses as much as you like, however words are still up in the air and we would like to keep the actual scripts as close to the source material as possible.


There is also a role on this page for you to submit Demos and Samples to make it easier for you as well!


Please only have a Maximum of 3 takes per audition line (Your edited takes with effects if chosen to do so will count as one take for the character). We prefer the takes in ABC ABC if possible. (This means line 1 - take 1, line 2 - take 1, line 3 - take 1, line 1 - take 2, etc.)


If sending through email please put “Mage and Demon Queen Auditions - InsertYourNameHere” as the subject line so we may find you easier if chosen. (i.g. “Mage and Demon Queen Audition - Kai Kraft”)

Lastly, Have fun with your audition! It may not seem like much but everyone on the other end can tell whether or not you are smiling and such for a scene, don’t be afraid to let it all out for the characters. In fact , we encourage it!

  • Casting Closed!!!

    Hey everyone! First off from the whole team we want to say thank you to every single one of you that has auditioned for our project. There is a lot of talent and we decided to give a two day grace period just due to how time zones and New Years works and stuff. The team is going to be going through all of the auditions tonight and contacting those of you that are selected within the week!

    If you did not audition for extras and are not selected for the roles you did audition for then we might reach out as well to ask about if you would be interested in voicing extras. Other than that we hope you all had a wonderful holiday season and we can't wait to start this project with you all!

  • 2 Week Update

    We are 2 weeks in to the Call and HOO BOY!! You all are already making it tough for us! I will say we have been going through the submissions when we can to prevent any backlog and so we can get casting out at a somewhat short time afterward and we have been pretty happy with the talent so far!

    That being said there are some roles that we would love some more auditions for so if you ever wanted to try for other please feel free! Or if you have friends that have always wanted to get into voice acting let them know as well! We are very welcoming and would love to introduce this wonderful world to as many people as possible!

    Lastly, we will be going through and might think that you sound really good for another role and we are going to be commenting suggestions and inquiries on if you could by chance audition for the ones we think you could really fit. That is by no means necessary and completely up to you, but we hope that you will consider it!

Background: Malori is a young mage at Adventurer’s Academy. She is the prodigy of her class and one of the strongest mages in the kingdom. This often results in many unfortunate situations for not only her but her party members that follow her into the tower.

Background: The demon queen who has gathered all of the strongest demons of the land in the demon tower to challenge incoming adventurers. She is the main love interest of Malori and also the main antagonist of the first season to a degree. She is monstrously powerful and is not afraid to show it to anyone who gets in the way of her goals.

Background: Cerik is a young swordsman and Malori’s best friend in the story. He is always pulled along by Malori into situations that, for the most part, always ends up going bad for him resulting in at least a resurrection at the church. Though he gets pulled through all of this he still cares very deeply for Malori and would do more than most others would for her.

Background: Melathia is the second strongest commander in the Tower of Demons and is also the queen of the Lamias, humanoid creatures with the bodies of snakes. She is one of the biggest advocates for Velverosa and Malori’s relationship so she can continue to have materials for her fanfic that she is writing unbeknownst to Vel themself.

Background: Fenn is a wolf-girl and the third strongest commander of the Demon Tower. She has a huge jealousy complex and views Melathia as a mother figure to her. She is typically very distant to those she doesn’t know and even then she is very slow to warm up to those she does. She isn’t a bad girl, she just is a little out of touch and not good at peopling.

Background: Fhaust is the fifth strongest commander in the tower, but arguably is the most intelligent of the beings present there. He spends a great amount of time both creating and repairing different mechanisms and tools that he has created to keep the tower running smoothly. Despite the more analytical side of his nature he is still very interested in gossip and will go so far as to make books to keep track of said gossip and characteristics of individuals.

Background: He is the sixth strongest general in Velverosa’s army and is a berserker Lizardman. Despite his scaly exterior Diannos appears to be a very warm and heartfelt individual who will go out of his way just to appease others (At least what he thinks will appease them in his mind). Though he is a bit of a goofy individual he knows when to be serious and when not to and like most other demons he is definitely not one to shy away from a fight.
