Low Forest (Short Film)
Project Overview
Low Forest is an independently produced, experimental "still-shot" short film about paramilitaries and mutated wasps, set in a desolate alternate-history United States. Low Forest will be almost entirely constructed of still-shots and emphasizes expression and voice acting and champions unique styles in genre, cinematography, and aesthetic.Currently, the team is in post-production. Meaning, we are looking for voice actors to put behind our models, similar to a live-action visual novel. If you're interested in voicing one of the characters, audition. More context and details about the characters and world will be provided then. For all roles, a credit will be given in the final roll of the film. For more information, as well as more shots from the film, visit our website.

Less than a week ago, Cache was processing memos for the man he'd later blackmail: Brokes. He was quiet and industrious, but witness to the crimes of his company and seeing Avace die to save the forest, Cache decided to do something about it. Talking never got much done, so he doesn't do it often. He speaks in a low, calm, and somewhat tired tone.
I don't want to put you away. I'm just looking for a story. Lot's of leads here, but if I don't find anything substantial, cops are gonna come tidy things up.
(to Avace) You're insane. I probably shouldn't share any sentiments with you... Still...
(at gunpoint) I'm doing what I can. You can help me. You can put the gun down.
All of a sudden, Avace was no longer compelled by greed. The time running his militia didn't matter. Only the forest mattered -- the one he was hired to burn down. It mattered a lot. So much, he'd die for it. Even before wasting away to wasp venom, Avace was not sound of mind. He speaks in an excitedly, near-unstable tone.
As well as I'm paid. Of course. By the way, do I really know what I'm paid for?
It occurred. It makes no difference whether I'm why it did.
(raving mad) You trusted Brokes? After all he's done... You trust Brokes?
If Brokes ever ran his company like he cared about people, it was because there were laws for it. But after the deregulations, he was free to do nothing short of maniacal. Dytopiais paradise, and who doesn't love paradise? But paradise needs upkeep and covering up disposal sites is part of that. He speaks in a nonchalant, arrogant tone.
(to Cache) You gave my receptionist quite a scare. It was her first day and she hasn’t had any training on how to handle blackmail yet. How long have you worked for me?
It’s too bad you can’t burn down a beach. Exactly why I used a forest for disposal. Easy cleanup. Cache, was it? Kid, I can make things happen for you.
I will resolve the issue with the forest. I trust you won’t mishandle any other information.
Met with Avace about burning down the forest. Didn't walk out of that meeting.
(to Avace) Do you need to know what you're paid for? At the bottom of the memo, there was a number. Did you count the zeros on that?
Oh, you tree-hugger -- What kind of set up would this be? Just how persecuted do you think you are? Can we leave? Please.
I think we’re done here.
Two paramilitary sent by Brokes to "tidy up" a shootout.
(to Cache) Stop! Who are you and what are you doing here?
We're "clean-up." You better have a good reason for being here.
