Project Overview

AUDIODRAMA + COMIC


LimeLight is a project based in New Orleans about a young black woman named Ashira Goldenfire. Who seeks to make a name for herself in the world, through the music industry. Although life is making it hard for her to reach that dream. Although that changes when she comes across a voodoo man and ex-mafia convict named, "Carter Silver". Who soon offers a deal to help her in return of her services. Not really having other options she agrees, changing both there lives either for good or for worse.

Audience: Young Adults 17+

Genre: Audiodrama, Comic, Adventure, Mystery, Magic, Music, and More.
Inspired By: Princess & The Frog and Bonnie & Clyde


This is a Young Adult Film, so you must be at least 17+ to audition for any of the roles.
As it carries heavy themes and violence.
We are eventually hoping to make this animated in the future for this project.


Expectation

  • Please be someone that is active and is able to communicate, while working on the project, when required to rehearse or record.

  • With this being an audio drama, it has no visuals. Which means it is solely based on your acting skills, emotions, and adlibbing.

  • You must have a good mic with clear audio, no noise, and easy for me to hear. So we won't struggle understanding you.

  • You must have a discord as many information of the project is through their and where things are discussed and have meetings

  • Rehearsals are usually do through Zoom, so make sure you have a zoom

Information

This Series carries dark theme's and concepts. It is a dark romance as well. So trauma, assaults, murder, drugs, etc. The many things people have read and know with the underworld.

The main story revolving around the mafia, music, and police world. So we want everyone who audition to understand what they will be getting involved with.

There is NO NSFW(This will be insinuated and innuendos, but nothing explicit) and no A.I. being using. We have real people and real voices working on the project. Providing time and effort for their skills.

Things in the stories is not us supporting anything, just to make something and tell a story with different perspectives and characters

Benefits

  • Right now the project is paid(On A Tight Budget), as it depends on the success of the project

  • If the project is successful better pay and more can be discuss and the future of the project and possible funding

  • We are hoping to have this animated, so it won't stay as an audio drama and comic forever. So we are looking for it to be animated and maybe partner with specific studios such as Flying Bark and more hopefully if it's successful. We would want to do a traditional 2D animation

  • Live Audition

    I want to give an update, concerning the auditions done.

    If their is a role, where neither auditions fit the description and other roles need to be filled or it's hard to chose. The team will do what is called a live audition like interview.

    Where a certain amount of people that audition that seemed to fit it, we will pick and do a call. To do a live directing for one of the lines that are ACTUALLY from the script. And based on how well that person do. Will be chosen.

    ALTHOUGH! That doesn't mean that you can't fit another role in case we are still looking for a good fit for another role that is hard for us to decide. :>

    These auditions is for Season 1 of LimeLight, which means their will be more auditions in the future for the upcoming seasons!

  • More Roles & Possible Deadline Extension

    Hey everyone! I just want to say I have been looking at everyone's auditions and will be giving feedback soon.

    I also want to update that more roles will be added on, for a lot of the other characters, side characters, and maybe understudies for the main cast. So definitely keep a lookout.

Carter and Damian was the most skilled people in the underworld and many feared him. Especially Carter, who was known for being deadly but silent. As he didn't talk to anyone like that unless had to or if it was him. Him and Carter was his father's right hand man.

For technology and engineering, wanting to work with computers. Although there was a gang war that happened in his neighbor and his family got mixed in it as his father was involved in it. Who was going to be put down by his leader, till he offered to sell his kids to them for his life in exchange.

Soon Derek was separated from his family at 16 him and his siblings being sold off to different people. Derek was sold off into New Orleans to be given to one of the bosses in New Orleans Carter Sillver. Derek worried for his life, as he didn't know what he was going to do to him. Although he didn't do anything expect inquired what skills Derek had. Derek informed him of his high intellect, which soon lead him to become there computer guy and hacker. Only after Derek had him agreed to his protection in the gang and revenge against his father and to buy off his siblings.

After a year of being with Carter, Derek eventually looked up to Carter as like a father figure. After having his affairs resolved he wanted to continue to be by Carter's side. Which he has been to this day.

Soon landing a position at Manamore Private Elementary after graduating and on the side works at his cousin beauty & hair salon.


He became close with Ashira in Cheryl at the school, and loved Ashira's passion for singing. He dreamed of something like that being possibly, till Ashira was offered an opportunity and wanted him to be apart of it and help her write music. Which he gladly accepted and even helping her with her  makeup and hair looks. He has no real opinion of Carter as her Manager, as he does fully know him like that. But he definitely loves seeing the voodoo kids he have when he does see them, Tolly is his girl and his daughter seems to enjoy being around them. They eventually made for a good babysitter to where he doesn't have to pay someone anymore.

Ashira gets it for free, as she helps her sometimes tidy her house.

She wished that she could help Ashira with the dream she always talks about at work. Which she finally able to do, when Ashira told her the person that was helping her. Marletta was just like Cheryl a little. Wasn't sure about him, but couldn't judge a book by it's cover. Despite her protest of voodoo as a very religious woman. But she stayed to support Ashira when she asked her to be her fashion designer. Only hoping to see Ashira have happiness in her life.

Pennicle was great at communicating and connecting with people. Her friends were talented singers and musicians. So they created songs and would share them around to people in Cali, which was very popular and caught the eye of a big producer. Who wanted to sign the ladies but the producer had to go through Pennicle who was technically there manager. They negotiated the details of the contract before finally settling on it.


Eventually they became popular globally and made tons of music from it, which they saved and soon built the studio. that eventually became bigger than the studio they worked under after there contract and deal was over. Pennicle still having her connections use that to help her company grow to what is today
