Lifetime (working title) - a 2D dramatic romcom about learning to love yourself again despite everything
Project Overview
This is a show about Merla (name to be changed), a 53 year old shark who gained immortality in 2006. After losing all sense of meaning in life, she began to not care for herself and push people away. We pickup in 2036, where her days mostly consist of laying in bed and waiting out her day. In the pilot episode, she goes skydiving without a parachute and gets saved by Liam, a st bernard who’s a kind (to an almost detrimental degree) person, and over the course of the show, she learns to find meaning in the time she has and to love herself again through the relationship she has with liam.
Voices are left (mostly) up to interpretation, if I haven’t listed any lines for you to do, provide me with a short monologue please.
Communication will be done via Discord. Content warning for themes of apathy and depression.
Voice Actor
Merla Steele - The main character. She sounds perpetually tired and done with it. She struggles with depression and apathy, and has a past of addiction. She hates herself and her immortality. Swears more than the rest of the cast. Looking for a young adult (like early 20s sounding) female voice.
Context, she has tried to start her car, and it isn’t starting: “Well Merl, this is what fucking happens when you decide that you shouldn't fill up a car on your way back from Sarah’s”
Context, helping Sarah and Sam move into their new home: “Attaboy, Sam. Nice place, where'd you get it? the nice place store?“
Context, offering Sarah to go out drinking: "Yeah, now that you put it like that, it has been some time since we last did anything together, you up for a drink? A night out in the town, clubbing, doing whatever, getting shitfaced,"

The love interest, works as a delivery driver. He cares about things WAY too much, getting stressed out if people aren’t okay - he’s willing to drop everything to make someone feel better. Feels really insecure about himself. Yapper. (Young Male)

Animator
Looking for six people.
Looking for animators who can work together to produce a show. You will work with the artists to produce a unique art style for the show. MUST be able to draw anthropomorphic characters.

Looking for four writers, you will work with the two co creators of the show to write the show alongside them. Scenes will first be thought out as a general overview of the whole story, and individual scenes will be given to individual people.

Must be able to work with text-based references. You will be drawing the character reference sheets and the storyboards for the animators to work with. MUST be able to draw anthropomorphic characters.

Sarah is Merla’s teenhood best friend, they used to go out drinking heavily and to clubs. Sarah represents someone who is able to grow up and move on whilst Merla is unable to. Looking for an older sounding voice sounds late 40s, early 50s. However during flashbacks you will also need to be able to sound younger (although we’re still on the fence about including these flashbacks).
