Let's Travel the Universe, Dr. Busher! (VAs NEEDED FOR ANIMATED YT SERIES)

Project Overview

Let's Travel the Universe, Dr. Busher! is an upcoming Youtube animatic series that involves a bubbly cast of characters as they travel to different dimensions! Production is starting to begin, so I'd love to get casting done!


REQUIREMENTS:


  • Because the series involves some heavier topics, I ask that voice actors be 13 or older. You can message me if you'd like an exception. Similarly, if you aren't comfortable with topics such as sexual innuendos, swear words, and abuse, the show isn't for you. (Nothing is explicit or overt, though, and most things are implied.)
  • I don't think it needs to be mentioned, but have a clear mic. I can only do so much on my end (and I quite honestly want to do as little as possible when it comes to audio) so have it be as clear as possible. I don't care what mic you use, as long as there's no humming, popping, background noises, that sort of thing. Files should be in a .mp3 or .wav format.
  • Have a discord. If you don't have a discord by now...IDK what you're doing lol. But Discord is loads easier to handle than email, so please have one to work on this project.
  • Be in it for the long haul. I would love to have read throughs and maybe livestreams and such (if this takes off), so PLEASE be able to stick with the show. I don't need actors doing one episode and drop. I don't need you constantly but I need you, so please keep that in mind.

*Friendly reminder that this job is NOT PAID. I'm in high school going on college, so I don't exactly have the capacity to be paying actors.

  • One week away!

    Hey everyone! So glad to be getting all these lovely auditions! I'm so excited to be working on this project :) As of now, I don't have any plans to push the audition deadline back. So that means 6 DAYS LEFT to audition! What I would love is, if you're interested, if you could comment on your audition whether or not your willing to play extras! Extras are in almost every episode, and I haven't gotten a lot of auditions for them (as of today) so if you're willing please drop your demo or comment on your audition.   • New characters!

    Hey everyone! First, great job to everyone auditioning so far. I'm not leaving comments at the moment because I want everyone to have an equal chance, but I'm loving what I'm hearing. Wyatt is the main character of the series. He's extremely intelligent and a big fan of anything relating to science and science fiction. He's dorky, kind, and slightly cowardice. He's the new intern to Dr. Nikole Busher. Medium pitch, normal voice.

  • (Excited) "Wow. THE Dr. Busher! (pronounced BEW-sher). I can't believe it, I mean, your work on the Halston Project and...I've, I've read all of your books and...!"

  • (In peril) "Uh, Jason? Look, now's not a great time- can I call you back?"

  • (Slightly sad) "Don't worry, Doc. It's not like they'd notice me gone anyway."

Dr. Busher (pronounced BEW-sher) is a sassy and no-nonsense scientist. She's very rebellious and off the book, and often gets into fights because of her strong will. Nevertheless, she's dedicated her work to helping other dimensions. Medium to Low pitched voice.

  • (Normal) "I like breaking and entering, this is fun. I'm just saying, I've forgotten the thrill of it, you know?"

  • (Angry) "Step away from the crystal, kid. One wrong move and you can rip a hole in the space time continuum, destroying every single dimension including our own. "

  • (Grandly)" Welcome, Wyatt. To Busher's Laboratory-" (chokes and goes into a coughing fit) "I'm fine..."

Cervo (pronounced SERVE-o) is a stoic and blunt robot. Created by Dr. Busher and sworn to protect her, he often acts as Dr. Busher's conscious. It's important to me that he has a British accent. (If you're going to sumbit an audition with any robotic filters, submit a clean version as well. Any robot filters should be VERY subtle, as Cervo is highly advanced and his robotic-ness is almost undetectable.) Medium to Low pitch.

  • (Matter of Factly) "Running scan... Wyatt Masten." (pronounced MASS-tin) "Age 17. Exceptional academic history, especially in the sciences. Dr. Busher, he applied for your internship."

  • "Dr. Busher, I strongly advise against this. Travel to alternate dimensions is extremely risky, not to mention the dangers that await once we arrive." 

  • (Slightly annoyed) "You say that like it's your first time..." (In reference to Dr. Busher saying she enjoys breaking and entering)

Jason Waters, Wyatt's best friend. He's extremely athletic and not as smart as Wyatt, though he's definitely not dumb. Your typical American with a heart of gold, Jason tries to be by Wyatt's side no matter what. (I want to stress that Jason isn't your stereotypical "dumb jock". He's actually very smart, but doesn't always understand what Wyatt is talking about.) Medium pitch.

  • "Uh, yeah. I don't really understand all this physics stuff but, uh, I'm sure it's cool."

  • "You're coming to my match tomorrow, right? My dad said he'd take us out for burgers after I clutch the win. And I WILL clutch the win!"

Any accent is fine, but try a valley girl accent if you're comfortable. (However, she's not a caricature of a valley girl, she just is one. So nothing too over the top. Remember, any accent is fine.) Medium pitch.
